I guess I'm old fashioned, but I like face to face interaction. Renting using a cell phone is just not for me. I had to enlist my daughters help by using her phone to rent the truck because she had a camera, which mine does not. it took us quite a bit of time to complete the transaction, Taking picture after picture when we rented it and when we turned it in. The Uhaul Truck share 24/7 was a nightmare! Very difficult time with connection and uploads. Without the very helpful Chat staff, I would probably not have been able to pick up or drop off my rental. Uhaul does warn you that you need a viable internet connection .Julie W.

The business hours posted at the location said the office was open at 0900; I arrived around 0945. The office was locked and a woman came to the door and pointed at a sign and the key dropoff slot and walked away. When I knocked on the door for more information--such as to receive a receipt--she returned to say they weren't open until 10 and to read the sign. I thought she was a rude.Larry C.
I was charged for 2 dollies when I only used one. I never used the furniture pads and was charged for those. The size I rented was not what I received therefore I had to make multiple trips. Rude and unhelpful staff. Spent nearly an hour on the phone trying to reach U-Haul so they change my reservation to truck share (which it should have been because that's how the original reservation was made) so I could pick up the truck. Also my reservation got moved from one location to this location with only an email as a heads up. I had to pick up a truck at this location and then drive 20 mins to pick up a tow dolly at another location. Not at all the best experience, especially when you are trying to move on a tight schedule.Benjamin S.
I didn't like that I couldn't speak with an actual person concerning my rental. I had a rental a couple of days prior to this one and it was super easy from another location. I did not have to pay the insurance fee because I used my own, however yesterday I did because there wasn't an option not to accept it and even calling customer service was no help.Shanita B.

I understand COVID has changed many things, but customer service should not be one of them. This site offered in-office check-in. When I arrived the door was locked. Once the door was answered by the front desk. I was told to read the sign. I asked if she could just help me since that's what I signed up for on the website. I was told to call the 800# on the sign. Not only should the office check-in be removed as an option but I guess so should the front desk position.John E.
Great overall. I found the self checkout through my mobile phone to actually be pretty handy and user friendly. I could do without all the up-selling on your website (advertising 19 $-29 $a day, or whatever it is)... when it actually comes out to be about 100 $-125 $per day if you order all the things a normal person would order. But I sort of figured that would be the case going in, so my expectations were managed. All in all, really good service, decent price, relatively convenient check out and check in.Daniel M.

The cab had dog hair and strong pet odor. The trailer area did not have the dolly I paid for, but moving blankets instead. Recommend more thorough cleaning of cab in case customers with pet allergies need to use that particular truck and careful review of additional customer requests, especially when they come at a cost.Kate G.

Truck was in poor condition, box was dirty inside with soil/black dirt all over the attic and floor, mobile only, had to spend over 30 minutes in 90 degree heat trying to "check-in" by documenting damage and taking pictures then had to take more pictures the next day in the middle of a thunderstorm to document cab and box condition when returning.Misty K.
Don't offer in store pickup with the vehicle if there isn't in store pickup. Had to sit on the phone for 30 minutes just to get the uhaul. Would be fine had I been informed prior to picking it up.Kyle M.
We did self pick up and the truck did not have the blankets on it that I ordered, the check engine light was on and when told the representative upon return we were told it's not like it's a Cadillac! Completely uncalled for reaction when paying so much for a vehicle I don't care if it was a Yugo if it was rented and paid for I expect it to run smooth not eat more gas than a normal Uhaul which it did. I have always used Uhaul to move, but after this experience and my reciept being emailed where you can hardly read it is unacceptable!Michael D.

The Truck was already dirty when I got it. We ordered 6 blankets and got 1 giant blanket. I didn't see a dropbox and I wasn't directed to put it in one so i put it back where I found it. I tried to take pictures of the scratches and dents on the vehicle but the app wouldn't let me take pictures so I had to accept that the uhaul was in "Pristine" conditions when I got it.Seth L.

Person receiving my truck as very rude and unprofessional. She seemed confused and would not let me into building until she realized I was trying to drop off equipment. Even then, she had no interest in hearing about the many issues with the truck and I eventually left out of frustration.Ryan M.

The equipment was not in good shape. The steering was very bad. Didn't drive good at all. Had a lot of trouble getting my uhaul Beni had to go on the app to get it and it took me over an hour and a half for it to finally go through. They had people in the building but I was told they couldn't help me because they wasn't allowing no one inside or couldn't even help at all. Definitely it a good experience at all!HAYWARD J.

I was incorrectly billed for gas when I returned vehicle with the same amount of gas as reveived. I used uhaul mobile app, took picture as directed of gas level in truck before contract was approved. I left two voicemails trying to reach anyone to correct billing with no response yet. This is totally unprofessional and extremely poor customer service.Alvin J.
The store was very unprofessional. The employees were rude and didn't want help ;didn't have the equipment. When i ask For the Utility Dolly they refused to give me one after I told them i had already purchased one. The lady proceeds to say no you don't call the u-haul number on the door and shut the door in my face and locked the door. So I left the store and call u-haul to put in my complaint about the store. They pull up my account and saw i did have a order utility dolly and tired to call the store with no answer from them. I ask for a refund and u-haul told me i would have to drop the key off to the place before i could get a refund. I return to the store and nobody was there. I knocked on the repeatedly and someone finally open the door and i gave the key to let them know i need to return the u-haul to get my money back. She proceeds to say if you would told me you used another name i would Have gave it too. If i knew my son name was going to change for the driver i would have said. Also i was racist profile because i asked could I come into the store because it was cold to wait for her to reverse the transactions. We are closed due too covid but she allowed two caucasian people the store. I ask her why were they allowed in the store not me. She states those are her family members. I believe that she was lying due to the fact the other lady looked at them like why are they in the store. If nobody's allowed in the building but the employees why would you allow your family into the building but I can't come into the building. I came to the store because it was quicker to my home and look faster to me but I was wrong. I would not recommend the store to anybody. Unless you wanna be treated like dirt and disrespected. So I decided to go to another place and my service was great didn't have any problems was in and out less then 15 minutes. That's how service should be done.Raymond R.

I had a wonderful experience until I was charged twice for my uhaul rental and it caused me to over draft account. I'm hoping this situation can be resolved. It was pretty easy to use the app, pick up my rental and drop it off. The van ran really smooth. It did have a low tire pressure light on when I got in but I noted that on the app.Amber L.

u haul web site works poorly so I was unable to complete pick up on line. Pick up location was not happy about completing it in their office nor was I happy about the wasted time. The online check in process was a nightmare and the lady there was not helpful at all. Had me and three other people waiting Outside for our reservation since the door was lock and she was sitting at the desk playing with her hair. The people in the office this morning were extremely rude. The mobile app did not give me a code to retrieve truck keys. After 20 minutes the office finally gave me a code and very rudely informed me that I should have looked it up.Alan S.
The employee was extremely rude. I arrived and the sign on the door said no in person check-in. I was attempting to check-in on my phone but it was not recognizing my account. When the employee finally came to the door she simply said it does work and that it has to be done that way. When I tried to explain that it wasn't working she kept insisting and then told me I just needed to calm down and try again. She then proceeded to help another customer by inviting them inside and locked the door behind her. I continued to try the online check-in while my son-in-law tried to find another place to rent from. After about 10 more minutes of waiting the employee finished with the other customer and opened the door again. She appeared very annoyed when I told her it still wasn't working and asked her to verify that my credit card wouldn't be charged since I was unable to check-in. At that point she begrudgingly ushered me inside while saying it wasn't necessary for me to get worked up about it. She then asked me to scan in my license through the text she sent me. I tried but it wasn't working. She argued that it had to work even though I showed her it wasn't with my phone. Finally she took my license and scanned it herself. From that point she got the process finished manually. Needless to say, I will never rent from them again.Donna E.

After reserving a truck online, I went to the pickup location at my scheduled time. Despite selecting that I would like to pick up at front desk, I was denied this service and was referred to the uhaul app. When I tried to check in on the app, it would not work and could not find my reservation. I asked the representative at the facility for assistance and was again spoken to rudely and offered no assistance. The representative even saw my reservation in the system and insisted she would not do anything to help. After wasting an hour and a half, I was forced to cancel my reservation, make a new reservation through the app. After that, I was able to successfully check in and pick up the uhaul truck. Overall, the representative at Harbour View Self Storage made the process difficult, frustrating, and lengthy. I have never had such poor service in my entire life nor spoken to so rudely and condescending. The icing on the cake- I did not receive the appliance dolly I reserved, and despite calling customer service and the location, I was billed for the dolly. Please fix this!Mitchell S.

This was the worst rental experience I have ever had. Most of it had to do with the U-Haul rental experience for persons who pick up in con-tactless locations. If I had known that it was a contact less location and what that meant in-terms of potentially holding up my move I would have have gone somewhere else. There were many problems not on my end on with completing the registration process. The problem I have with this facility is with the 25,00 $ cash grab for cleaning because I did not fold the cleaning pads. I have rented from U haul before earlier this year and was not charged this fee. The unit was clean with no debris. The problem with this is because I could not talk to anyone during the process and if I have been told this I would have folded them. I could not go inside the facility for any reason. I understand the con-tactless process. I had to deal with it even though it was a severe inconvenience but to charge me this fee when I could talk to no one is awful. I will never rent from Uhaul again mainly because you should warn persons on the process on con-tactless locations. My reservation was held up by 1 hour and I had people I was paying. I will be writing a separate email to corporate to express why completing the process was was almost impossible to me. Uhaul used to be my choice for truck rental. It is now off the list because of completing the registration process and the cash grab by this location. I will use every opportunity to warn persons no to use this company.Andre J.

The instruction on where to leave keys when returning the vehicle are vague and confusing. Luckily someone at the facility was able to point out the hard to see key drop box. But a large sign on the front door saying that the facility was NOT a Uhaul office confused me, and there were no instructions regarding where to put the key on the Uhaul App that I noticed.James B.

I was charged a cleaning fee, and charged twice for using the dolly-one day rental. Shady practices, bordering into illegal but definitely questionable. I took pictures of the clean truck. If they found something at least give me the same courtesy and send me photos of what was found. I called left a message, 8 hrs later no call back.MIGUEL L.
The no contact pickup was frustrating at first because we were not familiar with it but once we got through it, I feel that we would definitely use it again. You may want to consider guest wifi that will accessible to customers since folks who have maxed out their data limits (end of month etc.) have slow enough data speeds that their phone cannot send location data to the system. Finally, I realize this may come off as a little petty but it is worth mentioning. The moving blankets and dolly should not be permanently stored in the truck. It should only be in there if a customer has requested it since it takes up space that could otherwise be used for items that are being moved. It may only be a small space but it is still space that the customer is paying for which is being used up by U-haul.Karen G.

Also, I thought I had completed check-in on line...then get there to pick up truck and was told I had to download app and start all over again. Brought the car back 10 min before the due time , used less miles then what I originally requested and was charged 34 $. When I returned the truck 10 min for closing I put the keys through the little window and I sat in my car until it got cold. As I sat there I noticed the lady coming back out with a broom. 15 min later I was charged an additional 34 $. Never going back to this sorry place.Conrad P.

The representative that helped us with picking up the key & explaining everything was very helpful & nice. We told her about all the scratches, dents & upholstery damages before we left. We returned the truck after hours, so I called to check on it the next Mon. That's when I was told we were billed an extra 25 $for cleaning.
