I booked my U haul online and selected no to the safe move. I have my own insurance who covers this. The guy from the store added the safe move without my knowledge and didn't even told me. I signed the documents by trusting the U haul and U haul representative. Even that guy from the store was so rude. I am really disappointed by the service as it feels like I made a mistake by trusting U haul.

I go straight to Toronto Bay Street to get a new mattress and bed frame .straight back and add 35 dollar Gas before returning the cargo van. At Dec 2 , totally about 6 hours (because traffic) i was told the rental fee was 142.38. But after i returned the van, they sent me a new statement, with a new charge of 25 dollars + hst (cleaning fee) when i returned the van , it was sparkle clean, I even took my empty coffee cup with me. i know nowadays making money is not easy. Shameless money grab, no notification upfront of arbitrary additional charged, i will be contacting the better business bureau!!

Check engine light was on, and the engine sounded horrible. Was making a horrendous screeching noise that got worse as I accelerated. I let the location know, and they said there was nothing they could do. When I called U-Haul, they didn't do anything either. The Lady I spoke to over the phone didn't seem to care, sounded as if I was inconveniencing her by calling, and U-Haul in general doesn't seem to care either as no one has reached out. Will definately not recommend U-Haul again.

First of all, the pickup location was changed on us less than 30 minutes before pickup time. Secondly, The U-Haul reeked of cigarette smoke and was missing the utility dolly and furniture pads I had ordered. The check engine light was on the entire time we had that vehicle. Felt very unsafe and inconvenienced by the whole experience.

The sales representative wasn't friendly , was rushing me through and I didn't fully understand or have the questions answered prior to him rushing through he transaction , their for it was clear to me as to how long I had the van until , I made mention that I wasn't gonna be done to approximately 7:00'ish , and there was nothing said saying I couldn't or needed to be back because he had another customer waiting for it @ 6pm. From 5:50pm inrecieclbed 6 phones calling basically tell me I needed to bring the vechicle back immediately cause their was someone waiting in the store for it and they had had it booked, I told the clerk I wasn't finished moving the materials I rented the vechicle for , he said sorry but he needed the van back right now because it was booked and people we're waiting. I then proceeded to finish what I was doing immediately and return his vechicle roughly an hour after by the time I put some fuel back in it and made my way through downtown traffic to his location , only to find out their was nobody their waiting for the van atleast not actually physically rheir in the store ,it was empty besides myself and the clerk , and then I recieve the bill he charged me for 2, 4 hour periods .which I might have been a couple mins late , and that would of been fine and if he communicated that to me I would have kept the van and finished my move , instead I m still not finished my move and I've been double charged , . I believe this is terrible customer service and is completely opposite of me very other time I've rented from U-Haul, I think that isn't fair and I should receive a refund for the extra time I was charged for and didn't have access or able to fulfill my move or get another free 4 hrs period rental so I can complete my move , anyways I'm not happy with the service and I'm out a lot more money and time and effort because what was supposed to be a easy transaction was nothing of the sort and it's left me standing here , move not completed , charged double the amount I was quoted for and because my move isn't finished I'm inviting late penalties daily , I'm out my time cause I have to book off work again next weekend to finish things , , so someone pls respond and let me know what is gonna be done because what happened is not the U-Haul way and frankly I hope the service person at that location is made aware of what the results of his inconsiderate actions caused and that he can't treat customers in such a manner Thank you Ryan McAllister 343 9968101 pls call me thankyou

We booked a pickup in mississauga and a drop-off in Hamilton, had to wait until the day before to find out this was not available. This caused us a great inconvenience, and we had to pick up the truck the night before just to make it work. Truck was also in poor quality and leaking in the cargo area, repair had obviously been attempted but did not work. It was in the top shelf area where I put delicate items that now have water damnage.

The person working in the store was too busy to chat when we first arrived. The attendant was too busy with a personal call. This is not the first time this person greets the customers. WOULD NECER RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO ANYONE!!

I accidentally locked my key in the truck upon arrival to return the truck and the staff were completely unhelpful in resolving the matter. Also have to give a MASSIVE thumbs down to U-Haul for the $210 +tax quote to have someone come get the door open. I managed to find a local locksmith who arrived within 30 minutes and charged under $150. Accidents happen after a long day of moving, if you've paid for rental insurance, 1 key retrieval should be included.

I needed a truck and this location had the only truck left in Hamilton. Was really far away from where I was going and spent most of my kms getting there and back. People were friendly and everything went well. Just too far

I didn't have someone look at the truck with me to verify everything, and as a result I was charged for the furniture pads that I never received in the first place. There should have been a note on my file to show that I never received them, so I had to call customer support once again to get money back for something I shouldn't have been charged for in the first place.

First truck completely frozen in ice, unmoveable due to being stuck in snow/ice. Any movement would have caused vehicle to strike building. Was given second truck, but then charged at higher $/km compared to what I booked.

Manager was very rude .. I was also charged for fuel which was 3/4 tank and when I dropped the van off the manager told me he didn’t have to inspect the truck and I should just go my bill will be emailed to me .. I got the bill and an 11 additional charge ..

Very bad experience! I will never use this location and would caution others from using it as well! Stick with the Main UHaul and not the little variety stores. This place tried to over charge, was rude and had horrible customer service!

I was charged for fuel and the amount on the final bill is incorrect. He stated starting was between 3/4 and 7/8, and thats where I left it.. The final bill shows there was only 3/4 full. Not alot of money but very dishonest. Also called me at 5:30 looking for truck when I returned it at 3:26. I was also given a 10' truck instead of 15' and wasa told by nash rd. person that I would receive a $50 credit.

When I arrived, he let me know ow he shouldn't of accepted my return because they are only a convenience store. I explained he is a uhaul location, and he had attitude. I was promised by a Uhaul representative on the phone that I would have a 50km discount when I brought the uhaul back (because I booked my truck at 1 location, and they called me last minute the evening before to advise I now have to travel an hour out of my way for the 10" truck I booked a month ago!!). I never got my discount Also; I was charged 3 days for having the truck when we only had it from 9:30am to 4:30pm on August 26th. The man at thestore told me there is no price difference. I thought it's $19,99 per day??? I was overcharged, and need money back. Almost $500 I was charged for 7 hours!?!?

It was not $19,95 as advertised It was almost $60 They charged me $20 at the end , for nothing. The store I'd not have any info when I went to pickup the van. Very disorganized and they add charges without consent Never again

I actually waited to respond to this review, in the hopes that we can rectify our issue. My husband picked up on the moving truck from HASTY MARKET, in Hamilton, Ontario. The person issuing the truck to us, was on the phone getting instructions, therefore this process was long and the instructions were not clear. There was no mention of the gas. The truck was delivered to us on empty, there was not 1/4 tank. My husband went to the nearest gas station to put in gas. We delivered the truck back with an 1/8th of a tank. They charged us the $30,00 penalty charge and the additional gas. The estimated cost was $110 but I was charged $212. After receiving my bill, I took the liberty of calling Joe Butler, and left a msg but sadly did not get a response. Hence why I have left this review. I will not use U-Haul again or refer their business to any clients or family or friends.

I would not rent from uhaul again to rent a vehicle with proper ID n major crest card is sufficient but u need e-mail n there r people out there that don’t have e-mail or sufisticated phones it was very in easy so thank u I got my job done but will not recommend uhaul at all

Not double book a rental, I had booked the van until 2pm online and when I got my confirmation it said 11am. When I get to pick up the van they said it was not a mistake that someone booked at 11am. This is unacceptable.

The attendant was courteous and it's clear Uhaul has a great set up. The van itself was clearly used as a work van or contractor van for the person before us. At the end of the day though, it served the purpose And the value of the service is great.
