The attendant was courteous and it's clear Uhaul has a great set up. The van itself was clearly used as a work van or contractor van for the person before us. At the end of the day though, it served the purpose And the value of the service is great.nicola N.

Truck was dirty at time of pickup and had to get the U-Haul guy to clean it...not happy at all with this location... the guy seemed shady and had to pay cash because he said his machine for the rental was not working yet his regular debit machine was working...will never rent from this location again... already spoke with customer service about this location...and might not rent from U-Haul ever again because it was a nightmare from the beginningkyle W.

The truck arrived to us with less than a 1/4 of gas.. the tank should be at minimum half full. It is a real inconvenience to get gas as soon as you get the truck.. very unprofessional and unimpressedDakota G.
Very bad experience no invoice emailed to me the problem was he never put my email incorrectly every tho it was already in the system from last time and read it aloud to me and refused to give me a paper copy when I ask for one took cash and over charged me and would not refund me the remaining balance or give me a receipt , had to call customer service and was talking to a very good representative I would not recommend going to that location because he just acted like I was invisible when I asked for a receipt, very poor service and the truck was pretty much empty when I got in itCHRISTIANABRAHAM F.
The vehicle stunk of cigarette smoke and got worse when I used the heater. So I couldn't have the heat on for my move. I then had a sore throat the rest of the day because of my sensitivity to cigarettes. I told the employee of this problem when I returned the van and he said he would "tell the boss". I would like a refund of my rental as it was a miserable experience.Christopher B.
The store we booked at on Monday at 9am didn't have our truck ready. They said to wait and come back at 10 or theyd call us when it arrived, which really sucked as we had paid movers there already (so there was $60 gone), well we got no call or answer when we tried to call, so at 1030 we drove by (has anyone seen today's gas prices? So glad we had to drive around for this! ) and still no truck there. We continued to the Nash and Barton Uhaul spot where they told me they couldn't take my license because it was expired. Guess these guys don't know that all licenses that are "expired" actually aren't because Service Ontario has extended expiry until Dec 31st 2022 due to covid. So all this work and hired movers and wasted gas was all for nothing because apparently Uhaul does not follow provincial policies. I know they are the only ones as we had rented a car just a week before with no issues!! The kid at the nash/barton location was extremely rude and condescending. Pretty sure he wasn't even old enough to drive, himself. So we had to cancel everything and go hire someone to now drive the truck (more money wasted). At this point it was now 1130am and we didn't have enough time to move before we picked up our kids from school so had to set until the next day, losing out on our prorated last month's rent for the day ($40) We returned the following day to the hasty market as we did not want to have to deal with the rude kid at Nash, and picked up our truck to finally do our move. So no, not the best experience. A ton of gas wasted, time wasted and a hella lot of money wasted on the fact that not only the truck wasn't there to begin with but apparently they never got Service Ontario's memo that they don't want us updating our licenses at this time so legally my license was NOT expired!!! Never again! Despite the hasty market guy not calling us to tell us the truck wasn't coming on the first day, he was pleasant otherwise. It's Uhaul themselves that were pissed with! So much wasted money and time. We agreed that Budget will be our go-to next time! Screw that!!james P.

Upon arrival, I was advised that the interac machine was not working and that I had to pay cash. I was not prepared to pay cash but fortunately, I did have enough to cover the deposit of $150. There was no inspection of the vehicle at pickup. So I took it at face value that the gas tank was filled up slightly past the 1/2 way mark. I returned the vehicle with the gas tank filled up slightly past the 1/2 way mark only to be told that I was short on gas. I was charged $10 extra just for 1/8 of the gas and I think that this was because my deposit was $150 and the cost of the rental came up to slightly under. The attendant was friendly but I felt scammed unlike my previous experiences with Uhaul.hemwattie E.

The truck obviously had something wrong with it, probably hadn't been serviced in a while. Spent $120 on gas from hamilton to London and back which doesn't make sense. I used this same truck when moving from Brampton to Hamilton which is a similar distance and I paid nowhere near that amount. Really disappointed it cost me this much and I am not happyMUYIWAOLUMIDE O.

Very good overall experience, the gentleman at the counter was very helpful and he helped make the rental process easy. I was a little unsure of using the link to take a pic of my driver's license but he helped. Making the reservation process was also very easy. I needed to make a slight adjustment to my pick up time and the person on the phone was able help accomadate me.DIANE B.

The vehicle was dirty, the seats had good crumbs on them and spills in the cup holders. The dash had a layer of dirt and grime on it as well. The outside of the vehicle was dirty ( all pictures submitted on 24/7 App. No drop box for key so left it with the cashier at Hadty Market. Vehicles should be inspected and cleaned before being offered for rent. Worst rental experience I've had.MARIO C.

The vehicle was philthy, no window washer fluid, I had to stop at a gas station to wash inside & outside of windshield so I could see properly. It smelled like a wet dog in the cab. This is second time in a month I've had to rent from this location due to proximity to work. This is far below other location expectationsJAMESLESLIE D.

Truck was covered in mud on the inside. I had to wash out the trunk as I was moving furniture which still picked up some of the dirt that was left in there. Very disappointed with the location took me 30 min to pickup the van because no computer doing everything via cell phone and the guys did not know the uhaul apps and once return the van , he just ask for the key the receipt will be send to you without even checking the van after 30 min received 25$ charge stated that left coffee in the van , this location because of the store business trying to take advantage and focusing on customer service for uhaulJULES O.

The image UHaul sent to my phone showed the fuel tank to be 3/4 full. The truck had almost no gas. Although this was corrected by my photo, it is not suitable for a vehicle to be delivered to a customer with almost no fuel.Arthur C.

Check in via phone took over 20 minutes, required FOUR different phone numbers, cargo van was parallel parked super tightly between a pole and another truck (impossible to repark ), mileage was wrong when we left but we couldn't submit the correct mileage (site wouldn't allow), the mileage issue was further a problem upon return since we were returning with lower mileage than when we left according to the recorded number. Van was also smelly, dusty, had small bits of trash.Peppino A.
I was unable to check out the van I rented due to an issue with the system. The van was there but I could not take it. Instead I was given a much larger moving van. I also had to wait 30 minutes to have this issue resolved. I was late to my appointment.Loraine L.

Every time I rented a UHaul this year they counted my kilometers as miles, which wrongly brought my price up. It's seems an automatic thing they do to overcharge you. You think that they could have figured it out by now...SANTOS M.

Cargo space wasn't swept l and inside dash was dirty/coffee stained. I realized after searching through my emails that nothing provided contained info on the fuel gauge and how to self fill, so I had to guess. I only found info referencing the contract on how to gauge how much to fill but after looking through the contract, I don't believe it was clearly stated at all - more than likely because it's profitable to charge customers a premium on gas.William R.

This was an absolutely terrible rental experience. The clerk at the store attempted to charge my father in law an additional $250 for no reason whatsoever and was extremely rude to him. Also the dolly we rented was not with the truck so I will request a refund based on this.Grant Z.

The rep at this location was horrible. We were running late so my wife called them while we were driving down just to give them a heads up and ask about late fee charges. We figured we could just extend the truck by a day since we were going to be late anyways. The rep was very rude and dismissive. I don't have his name (he refused to give it) but it's an Indian fellow by the sound of his accent. He couldn't give us any information, pricing, or anything and just rushed us off the phone saying when we arrive that's when he'll figure out what we owe. He then hung up on us. I arrive at the location and he tells me to give him the keys. I ask I'd there is a receipt or some kind of confirmation that I did leave the car with the right amount of fuel. He refused to do this. He said he would check it later and figure out what we owe and I would get an email. I explained that won't work, I need to know I'd there are going to be extra charges. He got angry and said "listen buddy, I don't check it when you want, I check it when I want" I called the head office to figure out what to do and then he told me to leave the store or he would call the police. I asked for my keys back if he refused to give them and told me to leave. Head office told me to take photos of the car and the mileage to prove I left the car there and I did. Guys... get someone to call this location and pretend to be a customer and you're going to see quickly what kind of customer service is being offered from this rep. Or just look at the reviews for this spot. The pick up in Toronto was amazing, they were super nice, but anyone dealing with the Hasty Market in Hamilton is never coming back to uHaul after dealing with that place. The guy working there is a complete dick.Nicolae F.
We had a terrible experience at the customer service. After reserving online, we went to the Uhaul office to pick up the cargo. The office agent didn't gave us any option for if we needed more time, and he went mad when we asked him if he could come out with us to check the vehicle before we leave. He even tried to take back the car key from us saying he wanted to cancel our reservation because we were not happy with his customer service. This is why when an emergency came along the road and my husband has to drop me to the hospital - I am 8 months pregnant - We couldn't call back the agent to notify given the terrible experience we already experienced during the pick up. We ended up been 2 hours late and charged an extra day (which the agent did not explain to us during the pick up time). We pay way more for a 9' cargo to pick stuffs from Oakville/Burlington to Hamilton than for a 26' truck to pick up things from Toronto to Hamilton. We have dealt with Uhaul before but this location was nothing like our previous experience. We will never return there again and will never recommend this location to anybody.Guy T.
I was asked not to leave my car at this location. They did agree to let me park at the side of the building where the uhaul van was originally parked, however, I was told they would not be responsible for any damages to my car while it was there. The front cab of the van was very dusty from the last person which appeared they had loaded broken up drywall in the back. That said, the customer service was really good!! I was in and out quickly and they brought the van to the front of the store for me.ERINCELESTE K.

The truck was filthy on the inside- the last person to use the truck looked like they had moved something like concrete that was extremely chalky and white all over. There was garbage left in the front seat and looked like milk had been spilled on the dashboard and inside of front window. The back cargo floor was very dirty and we had to lay blankets down just so our furniture didn't get covered. We were very disappointed in the cleanliness of it, especially in a time like this with covid. We had to clean the front ourselves with cleaning product to feel safe. We tried to mark this on the return and check in but it would have charged us $25 for clean up when we weren't the ones to have made the mess. The parking spot was difficult to access.Robert D.

They didn't have the van I reserved. Actually they didn't have my reservation at all. Luckily there was a size larger van than we needed available. The machine for the uhaul was not working so I had to pay cash for the deposit and rental. I would have preferred to used credit for the purchase. The service person behind the counter was confusing. Spend a few minutes going over the rental with the client and make sure everything is safe and agreed upon in the contract. Maybe we could have spotted that cable that punctured my hand before it got me if we had tested it at the yard. Also, when i returned the truck, it would have been nice to know about a $30 charge to put $5 of fuel in to top it up. Aren't U Haul rentals supposed to come with a full tank? I really was disappointed with the brush off I got when i returned the truck and especially how you ignored me about the broken cable "biting" me. .Daniel U.
Van didn't come with the protective pads I ordered. The app didn't upload photos (tried on multiple devices), so I was forced to go in-store to check-out. Employee failed to follow COVID procedures, and was repeatedly wiping his nose with his hand when handling my drivers license, etc. A piss poor experience.Jason L.
