There is seldom anyone working in the office so almost any truck drop-off is considered after hours. There was a $20 charge for dropping off midafternoon Saturday March 10, 2024. We used the U-Haul App per instructions on the office window. When our app input was complete we received a message that we had successfully returned our truck and avoided the afterhours charge. We did not receive a confirming email. Without a receipt we were not able to get this charge reversed.

This was a horrible experience. Worst in my life!

I tried to return my truck in the morning 10/26, but the app wouldn't work: It would not upload pictures. I left the truck and came back at 8:50 as the location listed opening at 9am; no one showed and numerous people were waiting in the lot. Approximately 9:30am I was able to get the online check in to work and I completed that way without ever seeing anyone at the site by the time I left, about 9:45.

No fault of local dealership as trailer just came off of McDonald Pass in Snow Storm with Ice, Snow and Gravel so trailer was very dirty but it was great I got call from Billings MT that identified the trailer for me as I was in a pinch and need to get headed to Utah.

We made a U-Haul reservation for a 20 foot truck with a auto transport trailer over a month before our pickup date. I got a call two days before pickup that my location did not have a truck available and the closest one was over two hours away. We were given an extra day to pick it up but we're ultimately responsible for the gas cost to get it from a town two hours out of our way. In the same phone call, we were told our local location did have the auto transport trailer available for pickup on our original date. We get the 20 foot truck from the new location and i was quoted $1,800apx for both items however when i went to pay it was asking me to pay over $3,000. This was a self-serve pickup so there was no one to talk to. My local U-Haul office was closed and i sat on hold for over an hour with the regional office. I finally gave up and went into my local location when it opened later that day. They looked into why i was charged so much extra and refunded me the $1 200 that i over paid. While there, i asked fo confirm that the auto transport would be available for pickup the next day at noon as we were told on the phone call the day prior. The employee told me he had no auto transport trailers for me and he wasn't sure why they would have told me that. Luckily at this point they were able to find a trailer being returned the next day and it would hopefully be returned in good condition to pick it up the same afternoon. The next afternoon we were able to successfully get our auto transport and be on our way. The entire process from start to finish had problems every step of the way. I do understand that there is no guarantee until two days before, however this should be told to the customers in an obvious way because this threw off our plans tremendously and unfortunately we had no other options for companies so we had to be drug around by U-Haul just to get our move completed. It was equally as frustrating because Uhual Bozeman told me "we haven't been able to get any of the big trucks in months" so it would have been appreciated to know prior to two days before that there was a chance of them not having it. Luckily we were able to accommodate their issues because a lot of people would not have. I do not and will not recommend U-Haul Bozeman in any way. I truly urge UHual to reevaluate their reservation system for high-traffic offices.

Although the person I worked with was Absolutely great, the trailer was dirty from road grime when I picked it up. I think it is important that your equipment is clean for each rental, sets the higher standard!

The lady, although incredibly nice, had no idea what she was doing, which resulted in the trailer being hooked up incorrectly. Thankfully a nice gentlemen pulled off and helped me to ensure it was hooked up correctly but at that point enough time and frustration had been spent; I ended up turning around, and taking the trailer back. Waste of time and money. U-Haul should really educate their employees on the basic operation of their equipment. Once again, very nice, courteous employee, but U-Haul needs to have better employee education.

Offer hot beverages. Really everything was perfect. The truck was clean. The service was prompt. Everything just as it should be. I like the idea of hot coffee or hot chocolate being offered. That would be nice especially during the holiday season.

Clerk was pleasant but had no idea what she was doing. I don't think she's received much training. She couldn't locate the keys to the vehicle. She brought the wrong items when we tried to buy boxes. I was charged a mysterious $22 fee that she couldn't explain. It was not a good experience, yet it was still a better experience than when I dropped off a truck at the U-Haul location on Lyndale Avenue in Helena, Montana. That place is run by scammers and fraudsters!

My pick-up location was changed the day prior to pickup which was an inconvenience. The uhaul supervisor I spoke with was unhelpful and unfriendly. It was pretty much just my problem and she was unwilling to help resolve the issue. I reserved 20 blankets. But there were none available when I picked up my truck. The appliance dolly strap was in poor condition. The guy at the pickup location was friendly enough. The truck ran fine during the long drive.

Employee was the only person at the facility and she didn't know what size hitch I needed or how to hook up the trailer. We left not being sure it was hooked up correctly. We asked her to call corporate or look up the instructions online and she said there wasn't anyone she could call and said no to looking on line. I opted to get the insurance in case it wasn't hooked up right.

Owner was on site, helping train employee to work through the Uhaul rental process. Nice clean new facilities. Friendly and professional.

Filled the tank exactly half tank how I received it and I was charged $16 for fuel. I will never use U-Haul again for their money-gouging ways!
