Was given truck listed as "full" gas when it was definitely 15/16 if not 7/8 full. Was expected to fill up again to appease location, so cost me an extra $5 or so that shouldn't have been.

Finish admin/office space before offering services to customers. Computer system was down so I waited next to overflowing getbage cans and dirty car parts next to a desk buried in papers and trash to re-submit my reservation by hand. Type of dolly that was reserved didn't exist at that location. Drove off the lot and job I was going to was cancelled so drove back. Van in my possession for 10 minutes, fully charged. Received two receipts by email so worried that I was charged twice. Would not use this location again.

I ordered a van, a small dolly, and moving blankets. The dealer flatly said they didn't have the blankets, only an appliance dolly, and directed me to a specific van. Of course, that wasn't the proper van and the only dolly available was too big for the cramped area I was needed it for. I'll think twice before using U-Haul again. I ordered everything a week in advance, thinking it would ensure I would get what I wanted. As it turned out, the dealer gave me what he chose to let me have.

There was no notice that this U-haul location had very inconvenient drop off instructions. If you want to return your car past 2 pm, you have to park it in a VERY tight lot from an alley. We went to do this, but the U-lock you have to unlock to access the lot was put on wrong, so we couldn't even open the gate! Very inconvenient and time-consuming.

We had a self pickup rental booked and no equipment was there. The garage closes at 5. Thankfully, when we arrived at 6:30 someone was still there and they helped us out, pujlling up a different size of vehicle (truck rather than pickup). They were very professional and friendly but Uhaul shouldn't offer 24/7 pickup if they don't provide the vehicle. If they hadn't been there late, we would have had no vehicle for our move.

Don't tell the customer that entering their info online in advance will prevent the location from asking for the same info when checking out the rental truck. Apparently, it's "frustrating" for these small locations that they have to explain to every customer that they do not get all that info. So, basically, I was chastised because I expected to be able to just get the truck and go, like said in the online registration.

Carlos was rude - called me telling me that I had to have it back before 2pm. I told him I would and he didn't understand me and kept on saying it. As soon as I walked in he said I had to park my car somewhere else. Who wants to be yelled at and pay for their service? I told him he was rude and he said he had no truck.

This location does not accept online reservations. Even when bringing the phone in to mechanic and showing I had a reservation for the truck he made me fill out a paper contract. So I got charged 2x for the uhaul and here I am a few days later with still no refund.

We were charged the $150 deductible for a scratch on the cargo van that was not our doing. There were no incidents en route or at our stopped locations and no way the scratch could've been acquired so it was a tremendous surprise to us that we were accused of causing it and charged, but there was no way we could dispute it. There was also a bit of trash left in the back of the cargo van upon pickup that we removed, but otherwise the van was in good condition. Will not be renting from this location again given the confounding charge.

I have never received worse customer service from the local pick up/drop off. They ruined the experience for me, and checking their google reviews after, have done the same for a lot of uhaul customers. I would recommend not having them as a representative. I may never use uhaul again, because of this local drop off.

My problem with U-Haul is not so much with this location, but with U'Haul's inability to honor a reservation. I reserved a van from their Ravenswood location, received a confirmation, then the morning of pick-up received an email that the reservation had been moved to this location. This was a huge inconvenience for me (and not the first time U-Haul has done this to me). The Clark Street location is ok, but I did have to argue with the owner to let me return the van Sunday night, as planned, rather than Monday morning, which is what he wanted. If this happens to you, contact the national office. They did promise me a $50 refund. I haven't seen it applied yet and hope they honor it.

I reserved a 10 ft truck over a month prior to the pick up date at the 4055 N Broadway St location in Chicago. When I arrived on the scheduled date I was told that they did not have the vehicle for me, after waiting in line for over 30 minutes, and that the reservation had been moved to the Clark St. location. I was never informed of this change and the staff member was incredible rude when she gave me this information, refusing to apologize for the horrible inconvenience. It is completely unacceptable that the location was changed without informing me. This caused my move to be delayed, we had to schedule extra time for the movers we had hired, and I had to pay extra money to reserve the elevator in my apartment building to accommodate this change.

I selected this location and when I went to drop off the truck, the manager told me he wouldn't except it and that I had to drive it 3 additional miles out of my way. He was rude and not helpful. He did end up taking the truck in the end but disregarded me telling me "just leave the keys". I would not recommend them at all

The staff acted as though I was an inconvieance. I was ignored until he made time shortly after 8:15 to Acknowledge my presents. He was also on his cell phone the entire time, barely answering my questions and when he did, short, one word answers. I would NOT rent or recommend this site for U-HAUL or any other business.

I was a few minutes early to pick up the truck. I arrived 4 minutes early, but didn't speak to anyone until 2 minutes early. The employee wouldn't even speak to me until after those 2 minutes had passed. Ok, not so bad. They had 1 truck parked in between 3 cars with next to no space at the end. Expected me to get the truck out and not damage the cars. Ok, still not so bad. And it wouldn't have been extremely bad until I returned the truck. A cab was blocking the very small lot, so I went two car lengths down the street and parked the truck on the side of the car. The owner was sitting on a car inside the lot talking to someone else and informed me, even though the lot was blocked, that he couldn't be bothered to walk the 30 or so feet to the truck and move it into the lot. Informed me that if I tried to leave it there, he would simply continue to charge me, even though it was 30 feet from his extremely small lot. I walked the 5 seconds to the truck, moved it to the exact spot he wanted it and he wouldn't check it in. Even though he wasn't doing anything, he said he didn't have time right now. Fearing he would charge me for extra mileage and failure to fill the tank, it wasn't full when I got it but was marked as full and I filled it all the way up, I had to call U-Haul to verify I returned the truck with a full tank. It wasn't just that he was stubborn, he was confrontational for no reason and really got my adrenaline flowing. I would absolutely not recommend this location for anything.

There was no one working when we walked in a little after 10:00am, when our reservation was scheduled. We waited over a half an hour and we're about to cancel when someone finally walked in. The same thing happened when we returned the truck-- no one was there. I had to exit the building to find someone working in a garage in the back yard. I will not rent from this location again.

i'm disputing $65 dollars cleaning fee with this guy. I returned the car very clean. I won't recommend this place to any body.

My reservation was for 8:00 AM. I was not able to get the van until 9:45 because the keys were locked in the van. This caused me to miss my move-in window at my new place. No apologies and no assistance from UHaul in finding a new drop-off location. Even with the delay, I had to drop the van off at the pick-up location causing me to have to reschedule a flight out. Very disappointed.

Would have been nice if the guy didn't just charge me eight bucks for gas without even telling me he was going to. I put gas in it before I brought it back, and it was exactly where it was supposed to be. I drove 20 miles and put in 2 gallons. I would be surprised if the pickup trucks get less than 10 miles a gallon. The whole gas "3/8's full" seems pretty subjective. Kinda feel like I got dicked.

This place is a small mechanic's garage closer to my house than any other location so I'm already biased towards it. But renting uhauls seems to be a secondary business for them and so it's a very quick transaction by a dude with better things to be doing. He's cordial and quick. I don't look forward to a day I have to go to an alternate location.

High Point Auto Insurance was nice but they were not prepared. They did not have the dolly and furniture pads I requested. The man at high point auto sent me to a shell station to get a dolly and furniture pads. The shell station did have what I needed but he could not promise that they would have a dolly and furniture pad. I felt scammed. This cut in to my move time by almost 45 mins and I really needed the furniture pad and dolly. If I had known I could not count on having a furniture pad and dolly, I would have picked a different company to rent a moving truck from.

Have dollies. That should be a prerequisite for a Uhaul location and the fact that this guy handling everything at this location didn't care at all and completely brushed me off really didn't sit well with me. It's inexcusable. A 2 hour move turned into a 4 hour move.

I reserved the truck from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM but was informed two days before my move that I would have to return the truck by 2:00. So now I am making trips back and forth with my car to try to complete my move. Customers should not be allowed to reserve for 12 hours if the truck won't be available.

At 8:30A on 8/13 I received a call from customer service stating there was 1 trailer available in the Chicago area. If I still wanted it, I must go to the north side of Chicago to pick it up. I drove as quickly as I could and arrived shortly after 9A. Unfortunately this 1 trailer was promised to 3 different people and we all were at this agent location expecting to rent a trailer. 3 hours later and after the other 2 guys gave up, a trailer was ready and attached to my receiver hitch. Your customer service reps were impossible to reach and you over committed this 1 trailer to 3 parties putting the shop owner in a difficult position. I confirmed this rental a month ago - how can you not be prepared to satisfy customers that followed the process of making a reservation and expect what they were promised? I will find an alternative next time I need a rental trailer.

My issue was I ordered the truck from an Arlington Heights location and the reservation was booked in Chicao and wasn't apparent...This added a lot of additional time to our move. Rethink this or we would use another company

When I reserved my van I also chose to reserve a utility dolly as well. The van was ready on time but the clerk told me they did not have any dollies left. When I told him I reserved one he just shrugged and said they didn't have any left. I chose this location which was further away from a more convenient one because I absolutely needed the dolly. Not having it made the move much more difficulty.
