The fuel gauge was slightly lower than displayed on the APP when I started my rental. I only drove a small number of miles yet was charged $25 for fuel. You would think the fuel would be calculated based on mileage. Now there is no itemized receipt on the APP and no record of the mileage out/in. Almost as if they don't want you to go back and see that you may have been overcharged.

I always recommend Holden's U-Haul location to people. I have never, ever, had a problem. I have absolutely no recommendations for improvement. There's nothing to improve.

Renting was a pleasure with two young ladies. Return was not so good. Man behind counter just asked if I was returning, I replied yes and turned around and walked off. I just put key in drop box. He acted like he didn't want to be bothered. Dirty location

I would recommend this location only because of the availability of trucks. The customer service is sub par at best. I rented a truck days in advance and the rented equipment wasnt in it at pick up. The girl told me "here is your stuff you rented" instead of having one of the people put it in the truck. And I find that each Uhaul does things different instead of one uniform way??

Not about the place but from the whole experience: 1) get a Auto Transport - AT1454Y at 3pm 2) drive one hour to home, realize that was impossible to put the vehicle on top of the trailer due the gravel, rain and a bad differential (vehicle can't move back or forward) 3) get back to same place that I rent the trailer around 5:20pm. And they are close. 4) if everything was doing well I suppose the return the trailer 50 miles away (Covington LA to Metairie LA) 4,1 call the number on my contract to confirm that is ok to drop it at the same spot. 4,2 at 5:27pm (under contract #16594546) after I had explained the situation the lady at the phone tells me that: 4.2.1she can't tell if I can or not drop the trailer over there (at the same spot, less than 2 1/2 hours after). On her words “ It's my choice” 4.2.2 if I return the equipment at the same spot I'll be charged more (there's a lot extra charge to return in a different spot) 4.2.3 “I don't know Sr” (After I ask how much will be the charge and she tells me that) 5) I decided to drive 50 miles to drop it at the location that I had received by txt to avoid had to paid a amount that the person that supposed to tel me know unfortunately can't do it. On her words “because I work from a office” (and also can't provide or transfer the call to someone that knows) 6) when I get to the address: 815 SHREWESBURY RD JEFFERSON, LA 70121, there's no signs, vehicles, equipments or anything else from U-Hall. I ask the neighbors and they told me that had never seen anything related to u-hall on that building (in years). Plus, it wasn't possible to fit anything in front of the building or at the curb due to all the cars and trucks in front of the building (as I can prove by send pictures from the location at 6:28pm) 7) at 6:30 pm I call the 800 535 6762 again 7,1 after explaining the hole thing he tells me to drive to another location about 6 minutes away. 7,2 I get there and Crescent Tires has the same problem that Crescent Collision: no space and anything related to u-hall. Plus, it was also closed. 7.2.2 he sends me the a u-hall facility about 10 away (3rd location) 7.2.3 when I get to the u-hall facility on 1019 Central Ave, Metairie, LA 70001 at 6:50pm The employees informs me that I can't return that kind of trailer over there (even if they have bigger box trucks parked around the whole building) 7.2.4 they call another facility 20 minutes away on 3800 N Causeway Blvd, Metairie, LA 70002 and tells to go over there (4th location) 8) I returned the trailer Conclusion: ended wasting/losing about $240 with rental, toll, gas and more than 2 hours driving under heavy rain just because someone that supposed to be there as a professional to support and give information to the customers wasn't able to do it at 5:27pm. And again at 6:30pm when making driving to three different locations before drive back to the first u-hall facility after the bridge. Literally 10 seconds after leaving the bridge.

Very courteous staff and smooth process. Parking lot can be busy and cluttered, which makes maneuvering difficult, but otherwise this was a very good experience.

Customer service was terrible. There was no eye contact on pick up. The drop off procedure is the worse. I got there before 5:00 and faced 3 people looking at their phones who tell me there was no one to help and use the dropbox. Imagine working all day in 100 degree heat and struggling with your app. Taking pictures, unlocking and locking with no assurance that I'm getting credit for return. Never again.

Next when i went to drop off the truck my drop off location was changed on me. I received a message to drop it off at my original planned location (peacock), and then did not realize that i got a second message to drop it off at a different place (Holdens). I went to Peacock to drop off and they said they could not take the truck. I found the message to drop it off at Holden's so i went there that is 30 minutes out of my way with traffic. They were closed so i did self check in. That was easy, but i rated it poor so this would get some attention. All of this made me late for my next plans that day, If i could rate the overall experience i would give it a ZERO-BELOW POOR experience!!. I wish I would never have to use UHAUL again but they are the only reasonable option in my area.

I was supposed to pick up my truck from the Slidell location but once I arrived they told me I had to go to Covington. This impacted my entire moving day, especially considering I had paid for movers to arrive at my house (via uhaul) shortly after getting the truck. I ended up losing about an hour and a half which was about $150 of the movers time. Once I arrived in Covington the staff was unhelpful and the location was dilapidated. I ended up inspecting the truck and hooking up the trailer completely alone because the staff was nowhere to be found for over 10 minutes. Once I hooked everything up, I waited for an additional 10 minutes to see if the staff needed anything else from me. No one was around so I left, the staff member then called me and said I had to come back so she could look at the trailer. This was particularly infuriating because of how unprofessional she was while I was waiting. Once I was actually driving the truck across the country, I drove through a rainstorm. I activated the wimdshield wipers, and the drivers side wiper promptly popped off leaving me to drive a 26ft truck and trailer through a storm for several miles. I was thoroughly unimpressed with my experience at Uhaul and unless retribution is paid I will no longer use this service.

The issue I had is the design of the auto hauler. Once the vehicle was on loaded it was impossible to open any door. I had to crawl out the window! The vehicle has quite a bit of ground clearance and pushing it into place was not a viable option. Either I missed something or the design of this hauler needs to be reviewed and changed accordingly. I will NOT rent one of these ever again.

Great people. Truck was removed from service when it was returned to Village Rentals. Due to safety issues this truck was a danger. Talked with a senior rep and got a $100 dollar refund. What a joke. Never will use U-Haul again.

Stephnie went above and beyond helping us with our rental. She works hard , very knowledgeable in everything. She helped us to connect the trailer before and after, she even parked it for us because my husband isn't very good at it. Give the lady a big raise, not only is she gods at what she does , she also does it with a smile. We will definitely return if we ever need another rental. Thanks Stephnie 

Drop-off location was gravel with pot-holes everywhere making it difficult to maneuver after unhooking the trailer. Also, they have minimal to no lighting in the staging area.. Manager called next day and offered her thanks for dropping the trailer in the correct spot. Sure….most appreciated. Bottom line: Both locations should be investigated by Uhaul

I'm not sure if it was just a bad day but one of the employees was rude to us and added an up charge to my reservation without my consent and when I called to ask to get refunded I was told it was my fault before even pulling up the account info. Once it was pulled up a claim was submitted but I didn't appreciate being told it was my own fault when all I was doing was asking what the up charge was. Then being told I couldn't be refunded before even pulling up my reservation to see what happened. The uhaul customer support was very helpful though once my claim was submitted the my claim was submitted they reached out right away. There was however another lady working there who was very nice and helpful.

The lady who helped me was very nice however, when I arrived I was asked if I had a strong person to help me load the trailer onto the vehicle. When I let her know that I was alone, she said she would help. I have rented trailers many times and this is the first time that I rented a UHaul trailer that I was expected to put the trailer onto my vehicle on my own!!! I did load the trailer on my own while she was checking out another truck. She then came over to hook up the trailer because I had no idea how to do that. Is this a new practice with UHaul? Is it certain locations only? I did not choose this location because I generally find the staff to be unfriendly. I was redirected here. But if this is a new expectation, UHaul should note this when booking happens. I am a woman, but I know many men who could not have loaded this trailer onto the car due to health issues What is happening to customer service in this world?

The most miserable people on earth are running this show. Three different ladies were dealt with and they were all feeding off the most miserable vibe ever. Also, they have no idea whats going on as they called to inform me i had 1 day rental when in reality i had a 2 day.

The tires on the trailer has severe cupping and could have been a danger if they blew out. I didn't notice that till I was already on my trip. That should have been noticed by Holdens.

Stephanie at Holden's was great. She kept me informed about the status of the truck we had rented. She was helpful. Uhaul, on the other hand, changed the reservation the day before we were scheduled to pick up the truck. That pushed our plans back a day which we did not have. My reservation was made well in advance. Find a different company to rent from! Now the peice of junk truck. It had an exhaust leak that produced a tick I had to listen to for the entire trip. The steering is so sloppy the truck was difficult to maintain straight. I highly recommend using a different company!
