The mobile app experience is terrible! Because the location is not open on Sundays, I needed to use the app for pick up and drop off. I couldn't get either to work. Customer service assisted with pick up by phone. The drop off part did not work at all and I waited over 20 minutes on hold for customer service and finally hung-up. TERRIBLE PROCESS !!!

If they need a 15' truck make sure they know that the bed of the 15' truck that you rent out is only 11' 9".

I have rented from this location twice before, but they asked me for a reference before I rented. Really? I have never been late returning anything, and did not appreciate being treated like a skip-trace was likely. You have my credit card, my ID, and my past history. That should be enough.

The rental place was rude. The trucks engine light was on and it was leaking gas. I had to fill it up multiple times just to make it to the destination. When i asked them about it they said it was fine and sent me on my way. Horrible experience

Gas tanks should always start out full. Make it an easy start for the customer. Right away I had to look for gas. That tank was not going to make it to Portland and back.

Ideal home where I picked up the U-haul gave me a rental with NO GAS, on Fumes just barely made it to fill up. They are all we have in The Dalles. Could improve their service in many ways. No comparison to the drop off location.

The service there was very impersonal and the manager appeared uninterested and didn't even want to do a walk-around with me before I took possession. Seemed to bother him with my questions.

Not only was the truck DISGUSTINGLY dirty...(as I pointed out to the person before I left)....but they were EXTREMELY rude....and this U-HAUL location was not the only place that is sub standard....I rented a truck one spring a couple years ago...and there was simething wrong with the billing...can’t remember what it was....but I had to call a regional manager in Portland to see about a refund....and he was extremely rude....have had nothing but NEGATIVE experiences renting a u haul truck in the mid-Columbia area.......the truck I rented today was dirty in the outside as well as the inside....the inside was TERRIBLE...the steering wheel was sticky....something was splashed all over the dash...soda I think......

Much better experience this time than about a month ago at this same location. The equipment I reserved was there, at the price I was quoted online. Last time, i had to pay extra for more than I needed even with a so-called"guaranteed reservation". Bring a crescent wrench with you so you can adjust the length of the safety chains.

When I dropped of the truck the location was closed ,wasnt able to speak with anyone or to let them know I was returning a truck. I received my receipt via email and was charged an extra day and it said I returned the truck after 8pm.

We rented the trailer at The Dalles WA...we are from out of town. We had the wrong size ball. The owner loaned us one. We returned the trailer on a Sunday...when they were closed...he trusted us to drop his "ball" off at a certain spot on his property. We are from a small town where this sort of thing happens often...The Dalles is NOT a small town & we were strangers...GREAT SERVICE & COURTESY!!

I had a reservation, and a cost of $14.95 a day. I got a call from them before my pickup day to inform me they were not open at 8:00am (my requested pick up time) but they agreed to let me get it the night before. They did not mention that they were not my requested location, but the person at my requested location was able to direct me to the correct place. Then I get there, and my $14.95 reservation for a motorcycle trailer now cost $29.95. As far as I can tell, same trailer - built-in wheel chock, fold down loading ramp. The amount of money is small enough and the need for the trailer great enough that I took it and completed my haul, but if I need to rent any truck or trailer in the future, U-Haul will not be my first call. I feel deceived, like there was some bait and switch involved. I don't blame the local dealer as much as I blame U-Haul. I don't understand how the rate in the dealers computer system is different than what I was quoted for the same trailer.

Piss poor customer service!!! Reserved a service dolly, and did not have it with the truck Received absolutely zero help from U-Haul they're ridiculous suggestion was to drive back at least 60 miles so a hundred and twenty mile round trip to another U-Haul dealership that might have a utility dolly. Never once did they offer to bring it out I had to purchase one at the local Home Depot store spent another $78.96 on a dolly and a ratchet strap Uhaul refuses to reimburse for their error I will bad mouth them to everybody all over Facebook and anybody I can speak to. I will never ever stoop to using Uhaul again and I will continue to pursue this issue

Process the return of a truck at least by the next business day after it's returned...so a customer doesn't get a scare with a text saying the truck is overdue to be returned (a WEEK after it's already been returned).

Honor your contract. I contracted to drop off the trailer at the U-Haul in Hood River. When I attempted this I was told that the location was full and that I needed to make a 20 mile journey to The Dalles instead.

Initially, the process to rent a u-haul was confusing. We requested a trailer and furniture pads 8/31/18, without knowing if this was was available. Finally on 9/13/18 I spoke to Kristine (she was wonderful) and received confirmation of both the trailer and the furniture pads for 9/14/18. Everyone at The Dalles location, Ideal Homes Inc. was great. But the process would have been much better if we could have known earlier if we actually had a confirmation, because other people were relying on us being at our furniture pick-up site on time along with the trailer and pads. We recognize that you are very busy, but the confirmation delay left both us and the furniture store without reliable plans. Thank you.

The truck as dispatched with the contract showing the tank as 11/16's full. That seemed silly at the time as the gauge is so coarse and the needle so large you couldn't differentiate between 5/8's and 11/16's. I didn't say anything as it seemed minor at the time. However, when I returned it, I was charged $28 for gas. The contract showed that I returned the tank as 1/2 full. The gauge clearly showed over half. Fortunately I took a picture of it and complained. Ross Morrow, the Area Field Manager agreed to reimburse me the gas charge but implied it was my fault for not arguing about the dispatch contract. He said I returned the tank with 5/8's not 11/16's. Given the gauge that would be hard to argue either way. I wouldn't have argued over 1/16th of a tank. I was upset because they reported the tank as 1/2 full,

I had reserved the u haul on line and was to pick it up at 111 W 1st street The Dalles ore and I went there and he said he had not been doing u hauls for months...not happy,,,so went to stow away on 2nd street in the Dalles and she looked up my reservation and it said I was to pick it up in Hood rive ...which is 20 Miles away..she was very nice and gave me a number to call and they sent me to Ideal Homes to get the truck fortunately they had one. they did an excellent job...your on line service is very disappointing it took and hour of my time to finally get the truck. I will be posting on Facebook to never us you online service.!!!!!!!! Not Happy
