BUYER BEWARE: Our motorcycle was hit in a parking lot, we could not drive it home. We needed a one-way rental back to Chicago. We called Integrity Auto Sales & Service - Uhaul to rent a 10' truck, which was unavailable, they said they had a 15' truck. When picking up the truck, they said the 15' was local use only, we would have to rent a 20' truck. We asked them to honor the 15' pricing and they would not ... basically telling us to take it or leave it. We had to get a ride to their location to pick up the truck as our vehicle was damaged. We were stuck ... they could have called us back to let us know of the situation and given us the opportunity to find other transportation to Chicago... they did not. This is what you call "Bate and Switch". So not only did we pay a higher price for vehicle space we did not need, we paid more money in gas getting home. Not good business practice. Also, I would assume the cab of the vehicle would be clean and the inside of the windows would be clean ... not the case here.

The issue, however, was that where I had intended to pickup and had reserved the trailer was not available. It was a scramble to find the proper trailer in the time parameters that I had.

I've never had a problem with Dave's in Hancock. I tried to pick up at Dave's but the day before my move it made me pick up from the Houghton location. I get there and find the truck is much larger than I reserved, and even though I had already made the reservation online and thought I paid... they did the billing all over again and the computer wanted to charge me a lot more for the larger truck. If I reserve online then why do I have to refill fill out the complete order at the pick up location???. The person on the computer kept complaining about the "new system" and "it was working fine a few hours ago." The person couldn't even add a second driver and said it was probably "no big deal". If there would have been an accident with the second driver I have no idea if the insurance would have covered the second driver. Then I was told I would need to drive to another location to pick up a dolly... even though there was a dolly sitting right outside. I put the time and effort into an online order for a simple pick up (like I've done at Dave's) but instead I spent about an hour at the Houghton location because they had to call Uhaul to complete my order and give me the correct price since the computer was having issues. The whole experience was time consuming and a bit unprofessional.

The Uhaul truck cab noise levels are a serious safety issue. I doubt it meets DOT regulations. I have driven quieter stock cars and mining trucks. The noise level in the cab was truly amazing. This made the driving very tiring and difficult.

It took 45 minutes to do the paperwork to get the trailer (not including any time waiting in line) even though I had made the reservation online prior. It took 75 minutes to pick up a trailer I had booked. Within two hours of picking up the trailer, a tire went flat. I had to repair the inside valve to get to my location.

They didn't tell me I needed to buy a ball, pin and other piece in advance. I had to go to Wal-Mart with a friend and buy what I needed at the last minute. They had to run and get a universal wiring kit. They were nice but not informative as far as what I needed.
