Keep your trucks maintained. The unit I was using had a issue with the power steering, the brakes would squeal everytime I hit them and at times felt like i had no brakes at all. The vehicle wouldn't shift at times it took forever.

This was the worst experience with UHaul service. To start off my original location was canceled because someone overbooked my UHaul rental and I was sent to the Terry Dr location on the day prior to pick up which was 8 miles out of the way. When I called customer service they said they didn't think it was anything they could do to compensate for the inconvenience. I was charged for furniture pads and I did not receive any and I was also charged double for a utility dolly and I only received one. Needless to say I will never be using UHaul again. I dont even think it's worth the effort to try and get reimbursement for the over charges based on my previous experience with the customer service.

I rented this exact same trailer from Nashville to Middletown and the cost was $122.00 but to rent from Middletown to Nashville was $299.00 the cost was exorbitant.

How about i start with the fact we wasted two hours extra first waiting at the location we set our reservation at then having to go to another location. Then we had to drive twenty minutes to another location. This was after being on hold for approx 45 minutes and being told the reservation was not being honored apparently and they were making us pick up from another location. If we had time to look for an alternative we absolutely would have but, like i said, we had already wasted a lot of time. Did i mention we had no option but to rent it for three days and we only needed it for one? Oh and no reward for being early. One good point, the equipment was in decent condition except fir a windshield seal which looked to be taped up with packing tape (or someone may have just put it there in fairness). Truck ran okay. No serious problems. Dropping it off was another aggravating experience. Despite the advertised FREE month storage, the giant location we had to drop it off at had none. Which meant an extra ten-fifteen miles btw. We get to the other location only to find out that "free" storage involves a mandatory $8 "insurance" charge and $12 lock purchase. Needless to say im never using uhaul again.
