Hello, We were given a UHaul with 1/8 of a tank in it. We returned it with 1/8 of a tank and were then charged. We have tried to call Jass Gas numerous times but they have not picked up the phone! The storage area of the UHaul was also dirty, with residue from previous use (a party - strip confetti) on the floor. I would not recommend and moreover I am seeking a refund from UHaul/Jass Gas. I will contact UHaul if no one responds to this review.

I went on Sat to rent for Sunday since in my area most places not open Sunday. When I arrived Sunday to pick-up mt Uhaul, the attendant said he didn't have the truck I reserved (for $19.95) he said I was sent notification but I did NOT receive a call !! He tried calling Saddle Brook location which is NOT opened on Sunday. There was a truck their but the cost was $29.95 but because I needed the truck (as I scheduled the movers) I had to take the more expensive one. He then asked a million questions which was never asked on Saturday when I did the original reservation. He also did NOT tell me I could rent the dolly which I needed but then after waiting 25 mins to straighten out the truck issue he said he would have to start the paperwork all over again.....ridiculous !! I should have been given the truck he had there for the price of $19.95 as my original reservation especially after I was NOT notified the truck I reserved a day before had mechanical problems.

The service was OK, but the billing was wrong. They charge me extra 5 miles and after I call them, they charge me one other 5 miles extra, all together extra 10 miles , means $10, for nothing. Probably the desk guy, don't know how to do it. The car , a GMC, even new ,5844 Miles on board plus 30 miles made by me, bad engine.

The mistake i made was not to fully check inside the van after I was in a rush to do stuff as i was delayed location they very slow speak little english. The was a something oily in the van i thought it was from washing the van but it messed all my boxes and soiled my stuff that i was moving. I am not a happy customer.

I had placed a reservation and it still took near 40 minutes to get the truck on top of being asked to fill out the same information again that I had already filled out when I reserved online. Then I get the truck and there’s literally no gas in it. So now I have to spend near $70 to fill it. I drive off and the steering is ridiculously loose, if I didn’t have experience with poor trucks this would’ve been dangerous. I open the rear of the truck and there’s literal dirt and rocks in the back, very dirty. The lock that came with the truck to lock the back also didn’t work. It was an overall very poor experience.

I was charged for gas although I put the gas back to the exact same level. I video recorded it before I left the location but unfortunately at the return my phone died and I was unable to show the attendant. On the contract he put the amount half way between 3/8 and the 1/2 mark but it was slightly towards 3/8 when I picked it up and I didn't knw how critical anyone could be when it wasn't at a marked line. I have the video to prove it now but I have already left the station. However, we were asked to pay for 2 gallons and out of my dismay we settled on 1 gallon, although there should have been no charge.

Horrible experience. Uhaul screwed up my reservation and it delayed my move in time and ended up costing me more money with my movers and equipment rental. I was originally to pick up a 15’ truck at your location in Passaic, but they didn’t have it and no one notified me, and they said that I had to go to your location in Lodi as they have it. This is inconvienant in itself because Passaic is very close to my initial move location and I had to drive farther and spend more time in gas. Now, when I arrived to the uhaul location in Lodi, they couldn’t find my reservation and on top of all they were having computer problems and problems with your website. They tried to start a new reservation but could not find my account, and tried it through the phone and it wouldn’t work. Smartphone didn’t work either, through the tellers personal phone and my own. The lady who helped me in Jass Gas uhaul was extremely nice and helpful and was trying to rectify the situation as best as she can because the problem was entirely on uhauls end. When I finally was able to get my truck, this resulted in me starting my move an hour and a half late and resulted in me having to pay my movers extra because they were there by the time I arrived in the truck, not to mention paying more in gas because I have to bring it back with the same amount I put in. Also this delayed everything else with unpacking and the like. I will never use uhaul again because of this experience and you have lost me as a customer.

U-haul needs to improve its reservations and logistics. We were re-routed to a different pick-up location not just once the day before the move, but a second time the day of the move. Additionally, it took time for the promised "free miles" to show up in the system that the local pick-up representative could show. Additionally, the customer service number is a joke. On one occasion, I spent up to 30 minutes on hold before I gave up trying to get someone on the line. Jass Gas and the representative Jass was great though. U-haul and their scheduling center is who I hold accountable for the logistics disorder.

As a first-time customer I was somewhat dissatisfied. The above facility booked a drop off back-to-back with my pickup time. This would not have been so terrible if when the previous customer before me dropping off the truck called last minute earlier in the afternoon stating that they would be an hour late and the facility authorized it without checking first that there was a pickup for the same truck at 4 p.m. the same time as their original drop off. My boyfriend and I were on a time limit because he had to go to work after we finished doing what we had to do with the truck. We were sitting there waiting for about 45 minutes for the customer to return the truck and because they were not arriving we then had to wait for the owner to arrive to fix the issue. I rented the size truck that we needed and had no choice but to take the larger truck that was offered to make up for the facilities mistake. I appreciated her trying to make up for the mistake but it was a larger truck with more space that I was worried the furniture we were moving around would have been shifting in the back. I am a first time driver the smaller truck made me nervous as it was and driving a larger truck was even more uncomfortable for myself. I was not able to put my boyfriend on as a second driver because at the moment he does not have a driver's license. This was a very uncomfortable experience for me.

I used the online reservation and pickup to get my uhaul. I made the reservation for 8am but didn’t get the keys til about 845. When I got to the location about 15mins early, I go on my phone to start the online process of picking up my van and it says that I do not have a reservation at this location. I try again, and I kept getting the same message. I tried several times and then decided to call Uhaul. I was on the phone for 10mins waiting, and never actually got to speak to anyone because I was on hold the entire 10mins, and at this point it was finally 8 and then when I tried again it finally pulled up my reservation. So now I have to go through the whole process of the pick up, take pics upload them and then I was asked to provide two references. Which is fine but I feel as though that should’ve been something that they ask when making the reservation because it wastes time since UHaul has to then call them and if they don’t answer they need another person. Once that whole process was over the employee at the location was insisting that I take the van in the front of the van that I was actually assigned. I told him that I would not be taking that van because it was not what I agreed to and not what I took pictures of and uploaded. He seemed a little annoyed and I showed him the ID on the phone and how it matched up the one on the van in the back and only til then did he say ok fine. Uhaul should allow you to come to start that process at least 10mins early because all this took up almost an hour of my rental time and I hadn’t even gotten the keys yet but I was definitely charged for that time.

It is way to far of a pickup location I have a uhaul practically 2 minutes away from our house yet uhaul sent us 20 minutes and about 17 miles out of our way so no it was not ideal. So i wasted fuel and milage just picking it up. I could have easily walked to the location neat my home. This did not make sense since I reserved over 2+ weeks in advance.
