I declined rental tow coverage but it was added on at the store. Seems like a sneaky thing to do.
BRYON MThe tires on the trailer were desperately in need of replacement. The steel belts were showing on 1 of them with dangerously low pressure.

GAIL NMy reservation was not found even though I spoke with the guy just 2 days prior. He could not communicate in English. Did not understand a word I said. He should not be running a U-Haul rental business. I have rented U-Haul before and this was the absolute worst experience I have ever had. I would rethink using this place to rent your equipment!
GREGORY LThe owner of the store had the worst customer experience I've ever had. He argued with me for 30 mins about the order I placed for a truck. He was rude and disrespectful. I will never in my life go back to that location. I would rather carry every single thing I own, piece by piece, then ever rent a uhaul there again. Never going to that gas station or purchasing anything from that wretched person again. Worst experience of my life. Go to the oak creek location. I mean it was Caldonia so I'm not surprised but it was sooooo bad.
Lacey JA gentleman was there to help with loading the car and with hooking everything up. All were extremely nice.
STEVE TIt was just a motorcycle trailer. So I guess it was clean. The man charged me insurance when I declined in my reservation. He said I did not tell him I didn't want it. He asked if everything is good while he is walking out from behind counter. I never even got the email to confirm it was not right until I was out by the truck a few minutes later. Then he blamed me and again said I needed to tell him first and also said to me " you said everything was good." I never said that in fact I told him I had not received the confirmation yet. Would not recommend talks fast with a really thick accent. You can't understand nearly anything he says. Would not recommend

JENNA BI had asked for a different location as this was more out of my way being almost twice as far from original location. Also being a gas station with one employee made it difficult to get the application finished in a timely manner. The person was polite and helpful but it did take a long time as I did most of the application on line.

Hector HI wasn’t told how many miles I could use it was never discussed if I go over a certain amount of miles I’ve never used U-Haul before so I was unaware of how things work to my knowledge I had a one way U-Haul to Chicago from Wisconsin flat rate now I’m being charged for something I wasn’t aware of not cool

Peter KWe were told by the agent over the phone that we would not be charged for the mileage to and from the drop and pick up location. Joys food had no record of that and we were charged a completely different amount than what we were shown online. Horrible communication from the telephone agent to the pick up location.
Luke GOnly problem was not being able to get a one way rental so I had to drive my motorcycle purchase to Iowa and then bring the trailer back to Milwaukee again.

yoon kI have allready recommended Joy Peter's Uhaul location to a friend. I'm going again to JOYS FOOD MARKET at 7952 Hwy 41, Caledonia, MI 53108. I'd you need a UHaul, I'd call JOY's now and reserve at 262 732 4150
Great LI'm a little upset, the location of my pick up was switched which then made me incurred more miles and then I get charged for them. The mileage I used should be off of where I had originally rented it from and not from the location. 15 minutes south.
Jill LI signed up for 24/7 rental and had an 8am slot. When I got there the app wouldn't load and turns out they forgot to put the key in the lock box. After calling Uhaul the confirmed that. I waited an hour for the place to open. Then when I returned the truck they charged me $25 for cleaning after I left. The truck was perfect. I walked around the entire inside and it was clean.

Shawn SMy wife and I made a reservation 30 days in advance to pick up a truck at Sherwin Industries in Waterford, Wisconsin. U-haul's main office called us the day before and said we do NOT have a truck your size available at that location. That we would have to travel another 25 miles to Joys Food Mart to pick up the size we had reserved. This took us 3 hours to do because 1 hour for travel, and almost 2 hours to deal with a person at Joy's, The only person at this location. This individual did not know how to locate my reservation on the computer. He was not originally from the United States or any other English speaking country. So he had a challenging time translating his language to English. With the computer and then on the phone with U-Hauls customer service center. It became so bad that this person handed the phone to me because the U-haul customer service rep could not understand him. I ended up trying to translate between the person at Joy's and the U-haul customer service rep. The customer service rep became very unpleasant as she lost patience with the local guy and myself. I explained to her that there were many moving parts to this complicated situation and I was trying hard to understand the local guy and interpret back to her what he was showing me on his computer and tablet. Much of this was due to the fact that we had reserved furniture pads and there were no furniture pads at Joys so I asked for a refund on those pads. Once I had this resolved I went out to get in the truck to find the interior was very dirty. My hands stuck like glue to the steering wheel it was so dirty. I cleaned with steering wheel, the dash, the cup holder area and all of the seats with clorox wipes. I went through at least 1 dozen wipes and each of them were very dark and dirty when I finished. If I was renting a car from a rental place it would have have been vacuumed and cleaned in the interior. The U-haul truck cab interior was nasty. A car rental place will upgrade you to a better roomier vehicle if they don't have what you have reserved at their location. That is not the case with U-haul. They make you drive to another location to find the right size equipment rather than trying to give you an upgrade. which wasted almost 3 hours of my time, When I was already under pressure to get my family members stuff packed into the truck in a timely manner. I wanted to have all the stuff packed up in the U-haul and the place to be vacated and totally cleaned that day. Due to U-hauls problem in getting me a vehicle in a timely manner, (remember U-haul had 30 days to get me the proper truck and furniture pads.) They could NOT do it. I ended having to go back the next day for 2 hours and clean the residence before I could get the truck on the road, Which delayed me 2 hours getting to my destination. My family was stressed to the max and this could have all been avoided if U-haul would have done what was ordered on the reservation and what we expected. I would recommend Hertz or Enterprise over U-haul even if they're more expensive, any day because of this experience. U-haul is a big company and I don't expect them to make any changes as to the way they do business. They're only interested in the bottom line and obviously customer service is a liability to them which they don't think adds any value to their business. If U-haul doesn't change the way they do business they probably won't have a business in the next 5 years. Good luck, if your renting from U-haul. Your going to need it.
Philip HTerrible policy. Waste of time. Violation of privacy. I had a confirmation number, my drivers license (new style "real Id") and the credit card used to reserve the $60 rental which was being returned to the same location on the same day. I was told I needed to "give them the phone number of a friend" to confirm my ID. No thats not OK! I don't share my friends numbers with service providers. That is a violation of their privacy. This is absolutely ridiculous! I should have been warned that it is a requirement to waste a half-hour trying to wake up my friends with an unexpected phone call on a Saturday morning. Who calls people on the phone anymore, I intentionally do not - especially on a Saturday morning. This has to be the worst policy i have ever encountered. This was a terrible experience for such a simple task. I will go out of my way to use any other service instead of uhaul.
Tim MThe gas station order where I picked up the trailer was OK but when I dropped it off told me he will talk to you I’ll see what he could do but when I called back they charged me double and told me they can’t do anything about it not really friendly on the phone I would greatest service overall 0

DAVID SBe able to make change. Proprietor gave me a lame story about getting my change at the drop off. Truck rode like a tank, worse suspension i have ever experienced in a straight truck.
STEVEN KThe first place I scheduled didn't have the trailer and nobody even called. Then I had to back track 20 minutes to a different location. That was not were they told me to go. Then I figured out where I was supposed to go. The chains were full of grease and oil. Was not happy at all.
ERIC HIt's an old gas station with bulletproof glass, at the bottom of an off ramp. Would I recommend it? Compared to what? U-haul told me this is where I had to go to get my truck. I didn't choose it, you did. The guy was nice and proficient. I was turned off a bit by the procedure of calling someone to verify I'm renting a truck. What's the point of that? Do I need spousal permission to drive a u-haul? Are you afraid I'm going to steal the truck? If so, you're in the wrong business. The other guy while I was in there had to have a car trailer rental verified.
