I was charged more millage then I did, the location I dealt with did not explain anything and left early when I wanted to get it in person. When I tried to talk to location personal â€˜Darrel' he wasn't being helpful and wouldn't explain why he took my DL info and full credit card info. I am very unsatisfied with this location that I used. I am trying to talk to uhaul support and am going around in circles trying to rectify this situation.Robert S.
The app is not straight forward to use. There are no instructions given about the next steps once a reservation is taken. When I went to reserve, it said one van was available at a specific location, but when I called customer service about another issue, they told me the van was actually not available. Upon checkin, the van was dirty on the exterior with bugs covering the windshield. The interior had a very strong smell of cigarettes. There were ashes in the cup hold and on the floor. After returning the van the app asked whether the van was clean enough for the next use. I replied no because it was dirty from when I received it but unfortunately the app automatically charged me a $25 cleaning fee assuming I was responsible for the dirty Condition. Now I need to call customer service to get a refund for the cleaning fee That being said, everyone I spoke with in person and on the phone were very nice and helpful. Communication needs work. I booked a 20' truck and largest Van trailer. I was given a 15' truck and had to drive an hr one way to pick up a smaller trailer the night before. I order to be able to make the move I had to procur an additional trailer at my expense and tow it with my truck. I had labour hires on both ends of the move and deadlines. U-haul cost me an additional $500 in fuel plus the trailer, plus hiring someone to drive my truck to move my elderly parents. It would only be fair to have my truck rental waived to cover the extra costs and hassle.Warren M.

First time with a 1 way contract. Booked a month in advance and got email re pickup location and time. Called the 800 number to change time from noon to 8:30, immediately got email confirming then ON THE SAME CALL asked for a 20' truck. Got a second email confirming 20' truck but pickup now 12 midnight !! Hello?? Was told to expect a confirming phone call the week before pick-up - no call. Thursday before pick-up called the 800 number again to change time back to 8:30 and was again told I would get a phone call from schedulers on the weekend to confirm - no call. Day before pickup, in-person visit to pick-up location in email and I was told twice I would get a confirmation call from the schedulers before 6pm that day - no call. Showed up at 8:30 as per original email (supposedly the regional hub for U-Haul in BC - biggest U-Haul lot I had ever seen - no shortage of trucks of all sizes) and told truck was at a different location. 1 hour of rush hour travel wasted to find location and was given a 15' truck instead of requested 20' truck. Total incompetence on the part of the schedulers and when I called them, no explanation nor a hint of apology for not calling me. As a finale to this fiasco, the drop-off location turned out to be different than what I requested. It was emailed (I don't have a smart phone so could not confirm that) so I was directed from where I asked to drop off to another location. Whole experience was a total screw-up from start to finish. Never using U-Haul again if there is an alternative. Don't know how a company can hire so many incompetent and customer-relations-insensitive people in so many departments.john P.

Darryl at JTM automotive was excellent, I would definitely do repeat business and recommend him. The truck itself had some issues. Heat from the engine would fill the cab. Made the trip fairly uncomfortable. Had to drive with the window open most the way to keep the cab a comfortable temperature. So in doing so it was a very noisy trip. Truck did not have cruise control, would be nice if uhaul had an option for diesel engines over gas.Jason S.

The person who dealt with me was friendly at first. However, despite the fact that I indicated not wanting insurance when I booked the truck online, he proceeded to add insurance to my rental without asking me. When I questioned why he did that, he said "credit card insurance don't cover that.' I told him mine does and he said "no they don't, lots of people say their card does but it doesn't. If you don't believe me, you can call your credit card company." I did not call my credit card company because I needed to get my move started. After I returned the truck, I found out that he charged me for a dolly that I did not ask for or was even included in the truck. His entire behaviour makes me feel like I went to a shop where they are there to cheat every penny possible out of me. It is a very poor reflection on customer service and I hope you will contact him about this. It reflects very poorly on the brand to be associated with someone like this.Angelus G.

Very convenient to pick up early in the morning with virtual check in. I had trouble initially using the virtual check in on my phone but was able to change location settings after talking to U-Haul tech support. My favourite UHaul location. They offer counter service - which is useful because the UHaul phone app is fraught with problems - and the guy is great. We rented 2 Uhaul vans simultaneously - the pickup at JTM Automotive was easy and fast. At the other location we used the phone app and it was a NIGHTMARE. You have to take selfies and then provide the contact info of another person who UHaul has to CONTACT before they release the vehicle. Then when we returned it, we could not log in to website to return it - so spent hours on hold to tell Uhaul we had returned the vehicle. Or you can just go to JTM Automotive, no stress, no headache.MARTINA L.

I needed to pick up a washer and dryer. The 15' truck with the ramp and appliance dolly was ideal. The staff made it easy and convenient for me and I thought the price was fair. Thanks! Btw, if using mobile check out/return, don't put the key in the box when you return it until you've gone though the self check out process and taken all the photos that are requested first.David R.
It was the worst experience to check out and while returning the truck, no support was available. The contract and the return instructions were received 15 hours after we had already returned the truck. The issue was not with the location but was with U-haul online service.Vaasu K.

Great shop and customer service thank you. Uhual needs a policy for fuel. I overpaid 1/8 [f 125L tank which is about 16L in fuel, and decided to drive extra KM because the truck was overfueled. It was a win for Uhaul and a loss for me in money spent. That doesnt come off my invoice so I lose out at least $20. Thats the only issue I have with Uhual. Everything was easy otherwise.Josh M.

Your local customer rep was absolutely ridiculous and your booking system is brutal. You guys booked me at a location that was closed for the weekend. I got there to find the location was closed. The local rep I talked to was rude and useless. Only offered a trailer way later that day and 1,5 hrs away from me which would totally screw up my plans. I got ahold of the original booking location owner myself and he came in to rent it to meCODY C.
My comments are not for the LOCATIONS, If you want proper feedback also apply the experience with dealing with uHaul staff, phone person and so on. The people at the locations did their job properly and with in reason. It was the staff taking the phone calls. They need help badly. I was pissed off. I confirmed drop off location with the uHaul rep on the phone making specific request if they called the store drop off location if it was OK to drop the trailer there. The Rep said YES.so I took their answer to believe it was true. When it came time to drop off the trailer I got a text stating e new drop off location. Wasn't pleased but I still went their. As I got their all sorts of confusion. They said to drop it off at Port Moody which was 5 minutes away. That was Bullshit because I been there and I knew it was 25 minutes away. I said I want to drop it off where I wanted to drop it of first. In the end that was where I went. I got the RUN around and not very happy with that experience. SHIT JOB on UHAULs Part. FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Erick C.
