The site didn't tell us what kind of connection we needed For the trailer. We could have brought the adaptor, instead I had to pay an additional $30 for the light adaptor. The rental agent also was ride to me but all chummy with my male friend who was driving despite me being the actual client. I found it disrespectful. I wouldn't rent nor recommend this location again.Arlana M.
The pick up location did not match where we had to actually get the truck from. The location was closed. My husband wasted almost 2 hours getting the truck. They were calling still wanting it dropped off on time. I was told this was not their problem and I had to call Uhaul customer service. The wait was a minimum 45mins when I called. We were moving, I didn't have time to fuss around with this. We had no wifi so my phone was not working too good regarding using the online service option. We did have to keep the truck longer. At least we were able to drop it off without too many issues.Gord M.

For on line bookings you need to clearly identify locations that are same pick up and return ONLY. I ordered my truck, on line, almost 3 weeks in advance, only to be told it was unavailable and I had to go to Edmonton and pick it up. Adding an hour and a half to my journey. There was NO UNFORESEEN COMPLICATION as was indicated by the scheduling agent I spoke with. By accident I learned the real reason was this agency I was booked with has a rent and return to the same location policy. Uhaul screwed up plain and simple, refused to admit any fault & I covered the extra expense along with enduring the inconvenience. My original booking clearly indicated a pickup in Stony Plain with return in EdsonJudy H.

The owner is a real piece of work. We didn't even use the van. It literally sat in the driveway and we realized we didn't need it. Check the odometer to verify. And he charged us a cleaning fee? Life is too short to waste haggling with this loser over $25. I will 100 percent tell all my friends and family to stay clear.Melissa O.

Booked Uhaul on june 30 on bulk barn wholesale location in Edmonton at 9pm. After 2 days I got an email that my pick up location is changed to 51st avenue southside. Went to pick it up there but there was no cargo van. Tried calling/texting online support but nobody replied/answered. Booked a cab and went to wholesale location thinking that it might be there, nothing there too. Wandered at both location, it was almost midnight. So, booked a cab and went home. Next day tried calling again got answered after an hour long wait, I explained the disappointing experience I had last night on phone to a lady, she said whoever booked the cargo van before me had extended hold and said they could do nothing about it. She was extremely rude on phone and just asked me to rebook it again and I might get it this time. Absolutely disappointing experience as I wasted my day couldn't move my stuff waited outside pick up locations up until around midnight and wasted almost $100 in cab back and forth as I couldn't get uhaul.mohit R.

Two different lots. Had to sign contract, then try to find the other lot. This was not the pick up location I selected. Was a pain to my experience. I have never had a good experience with U-Haul. There is always some hick up no matter when it where (equipment not available although booked and paid, smaller equipment than paid for, sent to different location) always something.Trevor D.

I am new to Uhaul but the guy is talking to me as if i am supposed to have the same level of knowledge as an employee. Instead of just bringing me to the Van, he tried giving me instructions with his really thick accent and kept telling me that the van number was on the dashboard although he actually meant the bumper. this could been have avoided easilyDanny M.

There was no one there during open buisness hours with no sign stating otherwise. All help through phone were unhelpful and trying to get us to drive to other locations after trailer was already unhitched. Not providing my deposit that I was confirmed to get back in cash when I returned it. No one actually knew how to help in any way.Jaylene M.

Driving a uhaul isn't a typical experience for people. The way that the employees interacted with the customers made it feel rushed, and did not really care about providing good customer service.Jeremy A.
The staff here was excellent. Took me to the trailer, hooked it up . The team member stayed with the trailer as I had to go buy different hooks for the chains as they would not fit to my truck. The location could use some updating, looks old and worn. I had to clean out some dirt and pet food from the trailer.ROBERT W.
There was a good selection of trucks. It was a bit odd that not all the trucks fit in the lot, and there were 2 parked on the street. The truck we got seemed like the transmission was about to go which is why I said â€œnoâ€ to the second question. The truck was clean, but the exhaust sounded like it was plugged.Raven O.

We were the first customers there but the last to be served. There was literally only one space to park the uhaul and the small area was filled with refuse and junk. There were already 4 trucks parked along the street in a crowded residential area leaving no space for the residents and their company to park what with all the junk and garbage left outside without containers. With a car trailer in tow there was no place for us to park except at the side of his store and the tail gate of the car dolly didn't clear the sidewalk which is a hazard to residents in the neighbourhood.Kathleen E.

Price I set up to pay was about $80 all in. When I went to the location- it was $130 for some reason. Also- my confirmation email said I was picking up at one location, but the website said another location. After over an hour on hold amd an attempt to visit a location with lineups too long to wait out- I finally got through on the phone and was told that the location had been changed. An email notification of that would have been nice- if I hadn't checked I would have went to the wrong place.Brian Y.

Interesting experience. I never went into the location as an individual was outside & told me to turn around & follow him.The drop off location is not where it is advertised. I had to follow him , he drove his personal car to a local hotel parking lot where I dropped the trailer.GUY J.

Very rude and Poor Customer service, the Franchise handlers were very rude and full of attitude as they own the whole U HAUL company. I told them that I talked with customer service to pick up and drop off at late times and the person there said we don't care it is our truck.Siddharth A.
Truck had low air tire pressure before I drove off the lot. When I complained to the attendant, he told me that he can refund me my money back or I can call customer service (which takes an hour). I asked where I can return the truck when I'm done moving and he said any location but I found out that wasn't true. The entire rental and return process is a nightmare. My issues are still not resolved. I have spent countless hours on phone with customer service and I have. I more patience to deal with this incompetent company.Laura B.

Highly confusing experience and poor communication by staff. When came to park it, he vaguely waved in a direction. He got into his vehicle and we thought he was going to drive us to where we were to park. It was confusing and no communication. When I dropped of the key, I was essentially shooed away. They were quick and efficient, but they told us nothing of what they were doing or what we were suppose to be doing. Giving a 5 star as I know algorithms hurt businesses livelihood, but it was not an excellent experience.Heather J.

The BRAKES MUST NEED REPAIR OR IN NEED OF WD 40. I THOUGHT IT WAS A STANDARD. AND THAT MY HUSBAND WAS HAVEING A PROBLEM SHIFTING GEARS MADE THAT KIND OF A NOISE. BUT I ASKED HIM HE SAID THE 15 FOOT UHAL TRUCK WAS AUTOMATIC. We PUT TOO MUCH GAS IN BEFORE RETURNING. 20 $ EXTRA. BUT CANT GET THAT BACK THEY SAY. TO BOOK THE UNIT, WAS HARD TO UNDERSTAND SOME WORDS WITH A VERY NICE GENTLEMAN IN TORONTO. MAYBE HE WAS NEW. THE 2 LOCK SIZES THEY HAVE IN THE STORE. THE MORE EXPENSIVE LOCK DID NOT FIT THRU THE HOLE TO BE ABLE TO LOCK THE BACK SLIDING DOOR. THE GENTLEMAN HAD TO GO TO STORE N BRING US THE CHEAPER SMALER SIZE TO FIT THRU. SO THAT BIGGER SIZE LOCK SHOULDN'T BE IN STORE. OR CUSTOMERS RENTING U HAUL SHOULD BE INFORMED BEFOREHAND. OTHERWISE THE REST WAS VERY GOOD AND EXCELLENT SERVICE. ALSO WITH THE MASK N AN ACCENT IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND THE WORKER.BUT HE SENT HIS MANAGER OUT TO HELP AND ALL WENT WELL.Chris N.

The first truck had no gas and then I find out why, it had a half inch hole in the tank spewing gas onto my drive way, completely emptied the tank. Then the second truck has a big piece of the inside coming off the moment we use the seatbelt. The guy in charge was just laughing off a lot of the crap he put us through and was not very professional. Salomon the original guy at this location was much better. Hire a better mechanic because who ever is in charge of these vehicles is blind. Also people are siphoning gas from your trucks at the Edmonton in parking there is a jerry can and hose just lying on the ground. Do better, I would take any other company over this one again. Such a waste of time, based purely on stupidity and negligence. Never again!Jason C.

The manager helped sort out some damage to the vehicle that happened before my rental. The damage was mentioned in the paperwork, but I did not notice it. Next time I will take pictures before and after to document mileage, fuel gauge, and any damage to compare with photos I will take after the trip. That is good insurance.Michael H.
The Uhaul we rented out is the GMC Savanna. It doesn't have any winter tires. Being in Edmonton, winter tires are so much necessary to drive in winter. While we are moving our things, we experienced skidding in the the snow. The vehicle is not recommendable in the winter conditions.Udayreddy P.

When providing a service that requires people to drop off their vehicle to drive the truck, maybe have parking for them on the business lot not residential parking 3 blocks away. I was threatened that my vehicle would be towed from the parking lot of the uhaul place and was told to drive the uhaul back from my house just to move my vehicle. Worst experience ever, will never use uhaul again. It's not worth it.Shelby L.
