Terrible service. Was rude. They changed my location and then tried to say it was only a few mile difference. I was given extra miles and they still wanted to charge me.

STEPHEN REquate driving 30 miles and putting 8 gallons of gas to fill it up? Hello, 2,5 miles a gallon? What is wrong with this figure? The truck had 116 000 plus miles on it. Very sluggish. Clean, barely! The nice elderly man, was probably not up too excellent maintenance but minimal maintenance. Nice fellow but it's really tough physically to get old with our bodies. 35 dollars in gas for 20 miles. I stopped the gas attendant because it wasn't measuring full. ????? I feel taken.

Eric LI dropped off the truck on a Sunday when they were closed and used the key box. Hard to assess the cleanliness or personnel as the site was closed. Seemed to work ok.
darrell pTrailer had a short in the cords for the lights. Not the fault of KD Sand and Gravel! They were so kind and very willing to help us out when our local location was not able to get us the trailer we needed. Went above and beyond to help us out!

Jeffrey KLady at drop off was very rude. I was unaware I was being charged an extra day for dropping off a trailer an hour and a half late. I didn't even know there was a certain time to drop it off, all it said was to drop it off on a certain day, which I did. When I was looking for clarity on the subject, she scoffed at me and scolded me for not reading a paper contract, when all I said was "I wasn't told and was unaware of this." I had no problem paying the extra charge (even though it's ridiculous) and didn't appreciate being talked down to when all I was trying to do was understand the process of uhauls charge procedure.

edward hThe guy was fine and we had a ok conversation. He explained why uhaul doesn't fill the fuel tanks which would make it so much easier when I need to refill the gas I used. You need to either get rid of the expensive refuel charge and expensive gas if uhaul fills the tank OR you need to just handle refilling the gas tanks on your end because it feels like you are trying to cheat us as customers.

Tom HFriendly people working at this site. The parking lot is gravel so don't wear your party shoes. It's a little hard getting in the parking lot and exiting too but if you are cautious you'll be fine. The trailer I had was great. It did the job!

rian hNice people at pickup and return. Lots of room for maneuvering my truck and the trailer for pickup and return. I will be using them again. They had what I needed and I was able to reserve online the day before I picked up the trailer.
David HExcept for getting screwed on my trailer rental not being there twice, it worked out well when one was found clear across town. Made reservations 3 months in advance.

Marshall CNo where on the website or message when you call did it state they were closed for lunch. Arrived at 12:15 to drop off the trailer only to find they were on lunch and wouldn't be back until 1:30…..would have been nice to know before making the drive there.

When my move went off track and I needed some extra time to get the truck back, she was understanding and accommodating. Working with her may have been the best part of an awful moving day :)

Linda HI rarely write negative reviews, but this was a very poor and frustrating experience for many reasons at multiple points throughout the reservation and rental process. I booked our reservation for one's day's rental a full week in advance. The day before pick-up I got an email about online check-in. We were traveling, so I just glanced at it. There was no notice that my reservation had been changed. Fortunately, later I checked again and saw that the online check-in was for the wrong pick-up location. So I pulled off the highway and called to say that our pick-up location was incorrect on the check-in email. I was casually told that the location we booked a week before didn't have our size truck available. So without notifying me U-Haul sent my original reservation to a different pick-up location five miles further away. This resulted in me having to rearrange our schedule at the last minute and change the time our movers were coming. And since we pay by the mile I was charged the mileage for those extra10-12 miles even though it was U-Haul that didn't honor the reservation and made the change. I realize it's only $13-$18 more plus some gas, but your staff was very clear about the extra charges I would pay if I didn't return the truck at the right gas level and to your cleaning standards. Please understand, I appreciate the value of standards - but in this entire situation your standards were flexible around your needs, while the standards communicated to me were very tightly accountable. Kind of seems that enforcing standards should work both ways. So, by late afternoon on Thursday we had re-arranged our schedule and that of our movers. Then guess what? That same night at 10:00PM, I received a text message from U-Haul with informing me that the pick-up location for my reservation was at our original spot. Great - we had come full circle. I couldn't believe it; I even have a screen shot of that email. No explanation was given; I thought "great, they must have had a cancellation". Unfortunately, not so fast. The next morning when we went to that location. The manager (Cody) looked it up and then very apologetically told us that our reservation was not for his location. I told him that's what I had thought too, but 11 hours ago I got a message from U-Haul that it was at this location. He understood and said he couldn't explain it, but there was nothing he could do as he didn't have our size truck available. Cody was great and while I left frustrated I felt like he treated us like people, not a pain-in-the-butt reservation. He seemed to care that a mistake had been made and was an added inconvenience to our day. So after again calling the movers to tell them we would be running late, we left to go pick up our truck at the other location across town 4,5 miles away. The staff person there must have had a very difficult morning. I apologized for being a little late (it was about 9:30AM) because there was a mistake on our pick-up site. She pulled up the computer record and without looking at us told us that "yesterday at 4:00PM the reservation was set for her site". It was basically "what's your problem, it's perfectly clear". I felt like an 10-year old, so I told her "Yes, that information is correct, but does your computer also show after that at 10:00PM last night your company sent me a text that listed a different location than this? I have the text if you want to see it." She had no interest in that detail. She went on to tell me in very direct terms that my truck needed to be back by 7:30AM the next morning - she had people coming for it at that time. She was clearly looking directly at me while delivering this message. So now we can have the truck for 22 hours not 24. Essentially it was clearly "take it or leave it". In my mind I wondered why the reservation for the person coming at 7:30AM Saturday was more valuable than my reservation had been. My first reservation got re-directed and now this one is for a slightly shorter period of time. But it didn't seem wise to push back with that question or those details. Then because this location closes at 4:30PM, not 7:00PM like the location we had originally selected, we wouldn't be done moving in time to return the truck before this office closed. She again stressed that this truck needed to be back by 7:30AM. With this new fixed deadline for return of our truck I got thinking that after a full day of moving I probably wouldn't be eager to wake up early the next morning to return my truck in time to avoid being in big trouble for being late with our newly mandated 7:30AM deadline. So I asked if they had after-hours check-in. She said yes, just make sure you park it in the exact spot (she gave very specific details) and follow the directions. We were children being scolded and it was clear we better get this right. So after a full day of moving we brought the truck back that Friday night so we wouldn't run the risk of being in big trouble by missing the fixed 7:30AM deadline. We backed up the truck perfectly, noted we had put in gas, made sure it was clean and were ready to drop the keys in the drop box. It is a good thing we didn't. The after-hours check-in process was multi-step and challenging especially in the dark and rain. I have checked in dozens of rental cars after hours all over the country and have never been through such a complicated multi-step process. We needed to take multiple pictures and download info. We ended up standing in the rain and sitting in the cold truck cab for 15-20 minutes to complete all this, hoping we were getting it right. It was a tough and frustrating way to end a long day. I hope this can be helpful to someone. I don't intend this to be a rant from some angry guy. We adjusted and the move went well. And at the same time there were multiple inconsistent errors and/or confusions from Thursday morning thorough to Friday evening. It was a frustrating experience requiring lots of adaptations and multiple conflicting communications.
Michael BFirst they over charged me a extra day added insurance when I said no thanks to it. Didn't do a walk through when dropping the truck off and then charged me a cleaning fee this place is unpleasant and I won't be back to this location again. I'm going to need a uhaul again but i will not be using this uhaul rental place. Unprofessional
Valentine HI am appreciative of their customer service and will be returning to their location for future rentals. Make sure you check your equipment before you rent from ANYWHERE, but more importantly, tell the business you are renting from if there was an issue with your rental after the fact. The trailer I rented had a bad bent axle that was unknown until trying to get it up to speed on the highway. It made for a long day but KD made it all better by heavily discounting the rental for the day. Wonderful service on an unfortunate circumstance made this a much better experience than it could have been.

Steven NThe location was fine, the call center was annoying. I've rented many trailers over the last 10 years for work, weeks at a time. I paid the full day rate for 6 hours but job took longer than expected so I called to ask if I could return first thing in the morning "under 24 hrs total" I was told it would cost me another 30 bucks so double cost for less than 24 hrs. All the times I've rented a trailer not once have I been told pay more for the same 24 hours. This made it clear the trailer wasn't scheduled but was just a scheme to get me to pay more. Lesson learned! If you need a trailer for a few hours always say the full 24 hours. Worst experience I've ever had with u-haul
