I went to pick up a U-Haul at this location and was unable to use it because the entire cab area smelt like urine. Additionally, the furniture dolly that I had ordered was not provided for me. I had to trade out my U-Haul at a different location which added an entire day to my travel time and incurred additional costs that were unexpected and unfair. This was the worst experience I've ever had with U-Haul and has really soured the company in my mind. When I called the owner of this location to tell him what had happened, he was incredibly rude to me and insisted that I had already spoken to him on the phone, even though I had never called him before. This shows me that he must have Issues often if he thought I was somebody else who had already asked for a refund. He has very bad business practices and should not be operating this U-Haul facility. It's unfortunate because I've had great experiences with U-Haul in the past but after this, I honestly don't know if I will ever use U-Haul again.

First of all, the van smelt like urine. But we couldn't be picky since it was the only van available. It was pouring rain and the store owner just told us to follow the instructions in the app to get the key and left the location. We couldn't get the key because it wasn't associated with a lockbox combo on the app, so we had to wait for him to get back in the pouring rain. Personally, the app was a pain as well. It took forever for the pictures to go through, and again we are stuck in the rain before during and after our rental time with the minimal amount of help with the sole store owner.

PLEASE READ. I rented from Chapel Hill location. 12 hours before pick up was called the pickup changed to Durham, nearly 17 miles from original location and 20 miles from our home. With such late notice, we had no other option but to accept the change. When we picked up the truck, the dolly, moving blankets, and supplies were not in the truck. The opening time of the Durham location didn't open until 11 AM. All of these changes basically on moving day were incredibly stressful and delayed us by hours. We had to cancel appointments and rearrange our moving plans. I have not been credited for the absent supplies I paid for (dolly, pad, supplies) totaling $25.44. Overall, really terrible experience which is too bad because the truck was actually really useful, clean, and comfortable. This could've been a 5-star review if only I had received what I bargained for when I booked the truck well in advance.

Revoke location privileges. Mobile check in wasn't working and the store was unoccupied, even though it was "open", so I couldn't go in. The store has a sign permanently taped to the door saying the owner is "12 minutes away" and would come if required, but to look at their online gallery first - so I don't think the owner is EVER there. Windows were blacked out, too. I called the number for help and he was out of town, so he couldn't help me at all! Not only that but my truck didn't have ANY of my reserved equipment. I had to go to a different location and was unable to get two furniture dollies. This made my move unnecessarily more difficult. Owner did nothing to help me, despite saying he would call back to check in over the phone - I had to go through Uhaul support.

It wasn't easy to find, as there was not a collection of Uhaul vehicles or obvious signage. The staff approached me from a car in the parking lot and didn't identify himself as Uhaul initially. The entire transaction took place in the parking lot of a business park where no other businesses were open. I feel like I was charged for gas unnecessarily.

The location was great, we had a lot of issues with the pick up and drop off though, needing 2 different alternate contacts, and needing to call costumer support to complete the drop off. No complaints with the location or truck though.

The equipments (furniture dolley and furniture paddings) were not provided even though I reserved them. The system also changed my pickup location without notifying me before I got there. I only found out after I started my online check in. Also when I was returning the vehicle and keys, the owner of Kirads Furniture personally demanded that I give him the keys to the Uhaul instead of leaving them in the lock box like the website told me to. Even if he is the owner of the business and the UHaul, I much prefer things to be conducted professionally and by protocol. It felt uncomfortable being personally confronted by a stranger about this completely online process and I felt rightly suspicious when he claimed he is the owner. He also accused me of lying about my gas input when I made a mistake in estimating the gas meter. I took a photo of the odometer with the gas icon in view and sent it online in my return process so why couldn't he just check that photo to confirm. My intention wasn't to deceive and it was an honest mistake but I feel very disrespected and uncomfortable when the owner accused me. This owner is very unprofessional and unfriendly. I do not recommend this location at all.

There was no one at the location, when the website/app got "hung up" the clerk told me I had to check in online, when I told him that didn't work he told me I needed to check in. The pads and the dolly I asked for were not in the truck which made the move more difficult and I was an hour late due to this poor service. I called uhaul general customer service and they were great! They resolved the issue locking the account and gave me the code to pickup the keys.

The dealer at this location lacked customer service. Never interacted face-to-face. He made us feel as though we're bothering him when we called to ask questions. Each time, he was unavailable.

This was a remote pickup only. My reservation said remote pick-up, but when I went to use the app it said go to the counter. There was no counter to go to. Called Uhaul - put on hold for 45 min. Finally, got in touch with the local operator who helped me get the keys for the truck. The check out app stopped working before I could complete it. The back of the truck was dirty and the dolly and moving blankets reserved were not there. I had to stop at another manned location to rent. Also this pick up location was not the one I had requested . The one I requested was 5 min from my location. This location was 30 min away. I tried calling dispatch to discuss, was on hold for 90 min and dropped. HORRIBLE customer service. This was a totally unacceptable experience.

There were no instructions on how to get started with the mobile process. This process needs a ton of work. And, the return process as well. Please clean this this process up, we wasted an hour not knowing what to do. If I ever lease a truck again I will go to the store for sure.

Cargo van had tire pressure light on. I had to waste miles (that I was charged for) to add air before I could begin my trip. Oil change light was also on. The office was closed. Had to contact the operator to see if the van was safe to drive. All of this took an extra 45 mins before I could start my trip.

We were sent to this location when personnel were not available to give us keys at Morrisville Auto Sales on Chapel Hill Rd. After driving 3 hours, we had to go 20 miles out of our way to a second location. Kirads Furniture was helpful, but we had trouble connecting to smart phone technology, which further delayed us. We were an hour late to meet our family.

Location manager called us 40 minutes after our scheduled pickup time threatening that our car would towed. He insisted we drive 30 minutes back to the uhaul location to move our car. This adding extra miles to the rental and using more gas than what we would have had to use otherwise. The location manager proceeded to call us to continue to insist we come back to move our car. Over the phone he was rude uncooperative and yelled at us profusely saying we could not leave our car there. We spoke with him many times during the pickup process and there were no signs indicating we could not leave our car at his location for the three hours of our scheduled rental.

I will not recommend U-haul at all because I made my reservation on 10/16 to pick up at the Cornwallis Rd./Durham location. On the morning of the 24th, the day i was moving, I decided to log into my account and add a dolly. When I went to pick up my U-haul that morning, they informed me that they did not have the van I reserved and that I would have to go to the Page Road location. Not happy, i drove to the Page Road location, which is also a furniture consignment store, where the owner told me, I was luck he was there, because he is not always there Saturday mornings. He just happened to be there for some furniture business and had no idea that i was coming and that my reservation had been moved to his location. He was nice though and he processed my reservation. The van was fine. No problems. My issue is in that I chose the Cornwallis location because of its proximity to where i am moving and so that I would spend less time/miles/money. Moving my reservation messed up all three of those factors and therefore cost me more time/miles/money.

the check engine oil light and low tire pressure was STILL on in this rental van. We rented the same vehicle last weekend and had the same issues. Also at time of pick up it was a disaster. I had a reservation for pick up at noon. I called and spoke with the owner at pick up place Friday morning and asked to move pick up to 2pm. He said that was not a problem and wen we arrived at 130pm we were not able to pick up as it said our reservation time had passed. He admitted that he did not move the reservation in system to 2pm so therefor the system showed my pick up time as missed and unable to check in. From there it all went downhill and would like a phone call so that I can explain what happened from that point. Merci.

The only thing was there was a low tire pressure warning in the Van. It was raining during my rental and that could be an issues. But the van was immaculate

When I went into the office know one was there we had to wait for the worker so we had to wait for him to show up so we received the equipment a half hour late, also when I asked how long is the process he said he was doing me a favor by even being at the store

The cargo area smelled like urine. You couldn't tell until you got inside but a very obvious smell. Also this was the first time I'd rented by phone. It would really help to manage expectations for this process. There's no one there so you can't know that you're waiting over 20 minutes to hear back from agent for confirmation because they're all so busy. I called the 1-800 while waiting for confirmation and that was a 15-20 minute wait so there's no one available to explain. We got there a little before 10:00 and we were leaving at 10:30. Just a lot of time when you're sitting on the curb waiting to find out if everything is ok or if you're moving plans are on hold. And the business owner who has the trucks to rent can't help and wasn't very interested.

The U-Haul phone application is not good at all. My checking took a whole lot time then needed. The application is not intuitive and there parts that were not working. The camera part of the app was a joke. It gives you no control to adjust the quality of the picture. I wasted a lot of time that I did not have. People need yo have the opportunity to enter a lot of their information before getting to the site as there was no shade there.

The owner of the drop off location actually called me after I dropped it off and began yelling at me because he didn't want to deal with uhaul trailers, only trucks. He actually demanded I go back and take it somewhere else. Then hung up when I refused. What is going on!?!?

The collection point is not manned. When I arrived I had to call a number, shown on the door, which no one answered. I tried calling the number a few times and eventually I received a call back. It took the agent another 10 minutes to arrive and then go through the whole booking and validation process - result was a 30 minute delay. Not my cup of tea!!!!! Never again!!!!!

I called to say I might be a few minutes late and the man called me from a completely different number and said that was fine but barely spoke english. We ended up being EARLY but he told me I HAD to do the check out online since it was only a drop off location and there was no one there to help...the check out took 10 minutes to complete and then it said I owed $22 000 and I had to re-do it, take the photos again etc... the process took us 20 minutes and I was charged for an extra day. I disputed it and was still charged. I had to go through my bank to get it taken care of. U-haul customer service is non-existent and they shouldn't allow someone to handle their trucks that screw people over and have zero interest or ability to help with returning a truck.
