It seems that the accessory reservations on uhaul.com are pointless. When I arrived at the location I was informed that they did not have an appliance dolly or a furniture dolly even though I had reserved both ahead of time. They did have the utility dolly, but that was it. While I was checking out my truck, someone else returned another truck and they just happened to have an appliance dolly so I was able to get that. I asked if there was any chance that someone else might be bringing back another truck either that night or in the morning with a furniture dolly and I was informed that that location simply didn't have any furniture dollies. They'd given their last one out a while back and that truck was returned to a different location. Why does the website let me reserve a piece of equipment that isn't ever going to be available at the chosen location? Why doesn't U-Haul take any responsibility for ensuring that locations are well stocked with the basic equipment people need to move? I asked the guy this question and he said that U-Haul simply doesn't do that anymore. This experience was embarrassing and disgraceful for U-Haul as a company. I had only rented moving trucks with U-Haul in the past and I had always considered them to be the gold standard of moving trucks. No more. We ended up needing another truck later in the same week and we did, in fact, use U-Haul again, but only because I didn't have time to research other options. About the only thing they have going for them is a large number of locations. For the benefit of other customers, I want to emphasize that there was nothing wrong with this particular location per se -- the proprietor was actually very nice and tried to be as accommodating as possible. What happened to us is U-Haul's fault and it's a problem with all of their third party locations. Accessories are only available if they happen to be there at the location when you arrive regardless of what you reserve ahead of time. The guy at this location suggested that we call the main, actual U-Haul location in the area to see if they had a furniture dolly for us. We tried calling, but despite being within business hours, no one answered. He said that was typical. So my advice is to use to a main U-Haul location if you can because they are more likely to have equipment on hand. Or just avoid U-Haul altogether.

I wasn't told that a 10 footer didn't have a ramp. Had to load 7 foot couch, compressor and welder. Hard to do when only two people were loading without a ramp.!!!!! Won't go there again even though it is closer to my home.

Fix the website. I gave the mileage and hours used. Was given a quote of 137. Used the vehicle for the amount I said, but was charged an extra 30 miles and 89 for second day. I put in 8 hours but only used the vehicle for 4 hours 30 mins. Called the uhaul place and all I got was "they need to update their system". If a friend needed to use uhaul I'd recommend this place, but I wouldn't recommend uhaul to anyone with its current system in place.

This I UHaul location rarely answers the phone and have no access to voicemails. They need to fix that. So when you leave a message don't expect they will call you back

There was a problem with my 10' truck, the battery was not great my uhaul guys upgraded me to a 15' truck to make sure I could attend my event, have the storage space I needed, and a safe ride with no worries. The 17ft truck I got was very dirty and had a broken lock. I have rented here before and had a clean one. Other than that, I love the location and ease of renting. I also went over my time and they were accommodating. If it weren't for the dirt and lock I would have rated higher.

Reserved truck online as well as a appliance dolly. When I went to pick up truck I was told that there were no appliance dolly's. Someone should of called me to tell me that. VERY disappointing and staff kept trying to justify why they did not call me…sad. Truck needed a washing inside and out…it was VERY dirty.

I had a major issue with the first truck I rented and the back smelled of dead bodies. No joke. I returned the truck and called uhaul for another truck. In the meantime, the truck had a half tank of gas. I filled up up on the way home to my house. That was $110.00. When I returned truck and brought up the charge, they told me to call 1800 uhaul. I did and have for the past 3 days! Been on hold every time with the second time on hold for 45 minutes only to get hung Up on. I would like to get back the $100, but calling for 3 days TRYING to get a hold of a live person is beyond stupid! Can someone call me or credit me my money???? 435-800-7066

I reserved the truck from 7am-1pm and received a confirmation email to pick up the truck at the location at 7am. When I arrived, the location was closed and not open until 9am. This caused us to be 2 hours behind all day.

The U-Haul app needs work. I could not check the truck in at the appointed time because it would not accept the picture of the mileage and gas level. I had to drop the key in the night box and incurred a $20 night fee. This is a BS charge since they advertise that they are 24/7.

We have had HORRIBLE UHaul experiences in the past. Everybody told me a mistake to go to them. I like spending money in my town. Went and visited the team at this location. Explained my situation. Everything went flawlessly. Very pleased. And I felt a good value for my money.

Hello Mr. Alcazar, I hope all is well. I am writing you to express my total dissatisfaction with the service I received at: 2220 Kausen Drive, Elk Grove, CA 95758 (Laguna Tire 033241) I picked up the truck the morning (around 9:30 am) of Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Devin processed the paperwork however an older gentleman (whom I believe was the Manager. He was very rude to the employees) pulled the truck to the front for me (TM - 10' Truck, TM 1395F, Plate AJ23676, State: AZ). I am headed to my destination, about 30 minutes into the ride the Tire Monitor System light came on stating the tire pressure was low. I get off at my exit, the dash board displays shows "Engine Power is Reduced" at this time i was only able to drive 25-30 miles per hour. The truck was about to cut off. we had a hill to climb to get to our destination however the truck was not working properly. We pulled over, and parked. We call the location where we rental the uhaul 8 or 9 times but no one answered the telephone! I called the uhaul road side assistance however was on hold for more 30 minutes, still no one to talk to. I attempted to us the Uhaul app, it wasn't working. Finally got Devin on the phone at the elk grove location, told him what happened and that we were stranded and we couldn't get anyone at roadside assistance. I asked if he could call or email someone for us as it was extremely hot outside and I was on a time frame. He told me absolutely not. He told me I had to keep trying the number as it was not his issue. I was totally appalled. who says that? He told me that tHe once stayed on hold with AAA for 2 hours and that I could do the same! then he went on to say that he has customers looking at him as he spoke to me and that he was hanging up. I asked him "does your customers know your truck broke down on me and your are unwilling to assist me? I then asked to speak to a Manager. He said no! I said wait what? you are refusing to give me a manager? then he said, he's not here. I told him to call, email or text him and have him call me. Devin i will see if I can do that but I wont guarantee that I will. What kind of Customer service is that??? I then used the Chat feature on the U-haul app. I told the female what happened with the truck and the awful customer service I had and she said she would have someone call no one called. so I called the nearest u-haul truck Folsom, CA (51 Natoma St, 95630) to find out what the protocol was my issue. I spoke with Travis, He immediately as me was I safe and if I was ok. He asked for me name and telephone number, pulled me up in the system and saw that a roadside assistance was requested and it could be up to 2 hours. He then started asking questions about the tires and the engine issue ( he was trouble shooting). He was so pleasant and super helpful and gave excellent customer service. Kela from U-haul Roadside Assistance called me told me that there is nothing she can do. I asked for your contact info. I told her I had leave soon as I had to get to work as I run a business. She asked me if I had my car. I said of course not! I told her i will need to see if I can get someone to pick me up (I was on my way to El Dorado Hills, CA) and I would drop the keys off. she told me I would be responsible for the tow if I left the truck. what??? Later the female who i was chatting with on the app. I think her name was Quintessa? she called me to see if the truck showed up yet. I told her no. She told me I can leave the truck and place the keys in the visor, lock the driver side door but leave the passenger side unlocked, she offered to get me a ride back to elk grove. I told her thank you but I would take care of it. One of my business partners from El Dorado Hills picked me up and took me back to the Elk Grove location. There sat Devin. he asked me if uhaul said if I could get me money back or not. I told him you are going to refund me as I paid for a service and uhaul did not deliver. I told him about the tire as well he them told me yeah they've been having issues with that truck but the manager told them to keep renting it out. wait what? in the middle of our conversation the apparent manager repeatedly yelled from outside Devins name and told him to come out side right NOW! the manager decided to train Devin on how to remove a mirror or something while he was helping me. that could have waited. it took 15 minutes before his "training session" was over. soooo unprofessional. then the manager came in behind him loudly telling him where some key was etc... it was like he purposely wanted to be seen and it was apparent that he did not care that I was a customer and that he was very rude and unprofessional. Devin apologized on his behalf. then I said Devin I get it, you were rude to me because your boss is rude to you. Please find another job. you are worth more than this. Devin got authorization from Uhaul to reimburse me. the shop was very dirty and cluttered. My business partner almost tripped on a blanket and some cleaning supplies on the floor. I will be doing a YELP review as well as on my various social media platforms about this horrible service and how me and my sons life was put in danger in a truck that was clearly not sufficient to drive and be rented out. The manager has given uhaul a bad name. he should be removed immediately. L.Cannon

Stop your nickel and diming practices. Will never use your location nor recommend your location again. Unacceptably unclean location had scraps paper work/drawings littered all over desks. Attendant verbally admitted to having had Covid and didn't care to wear a mask because he already had it. I should've just walked at that point. I try to assume the best in people but thank you for teaching me that I will have to be overly critical of all businesses if I want to use them or their services.

The manager is very rude. I returned the truck and keys at 4:50pm and the front door was locked. I dropped the key off and still got charged $20 for after hours rental fee. I called the office this morning and was told to call 1800 Gouhaul and abruptly hung up on. He didn't give me a chance to explain and didn't believe me. I need the $20 fee waived.

The Vehicle was very dirty and the windshield is difficult due to bugs and dirt from previous rents. I was told that due to the drought in California washing these trucks are not permitted. I find this very difficult since there are car washes open all over my area which re-cycles the water used when washing vehicles.

The items needed during check in should be asked for ahead of time. There is nothing worse than thinking you will be on your way to then have to stop and upload CDL, passport, peoples phone numbers (WHO ARE AVAILABLE!!?) and a lease agreement?! for what?! How many of those things are required in order to be "checked in"? It may have been better to just go into the office, which I had to do after all ANYWAY to get the key!

I was told to bring the uhaul back by 5pm cause they would be closed Sun May 30th and Monday May 31st. So I went back at 430 to drop off truck and they closed. So No I will never use Uhaul again. Now I have to spend 3 to 6 days trying to get my money back. I also called Uhaul customer service and never got a chance to speak to anyone was on hold for over 40 min.

The wiring for the 4 way connector was cut. I had to change the 4 way connector end myself.After wards I had to fix another broken wire for the right brake light. I lost 4 hours doing this and delayed me to rent the trailer an additional day. I would be refunded for one day charge.

This is the worst location ever. I have rented over 50 times from various locations in the Sacramento area. Are use the trucks for my business, so I rent very frequently. The only reason I continue to use this location, is because of how close it is to my home. The owner is extremely rude and disrespectful to not only the employees, but the customers as well. This time, after renting the truck, I get an invoice with almost $90 in incorrect charges. Thank goodness we had taken pictures of the speedometer and fuel, because they lied, stating that it was not filled back up, so I was charged $33 for gas and another $30 for a fuel fee. Every time I have ever rented, I drop the truck off late at night. For the first time, I was charged a $20 drop fee. So basically, because the U-Haul employees had to do their job and check their vehicle back in, and I returned the truck early, I was penalized with a $20 fee. We had to take time out of our day to go back to the location and prove to them that we had filled up the truck for them to remove the $63 in gas charges. They refused to take off the additional $20 fee. I would think that at least as a courtesy to one of their most regular customers, they would have offered.

The website allowed me to select a 12:30 pickup time for this location, however apparently that is their lunch time. I was able to go through the mobile app like I selected to check out the truck, however the keys weren't IN the truck, I had to wait 1 1/2 hours to retrieve the keys from someone that decided to help the "regular girl" out to get the keys. She was late returning from lunch and nobody could be bothered to help prior to my 1 1/2 hour wait. There were 6-7 other people in line behind me that had to wait also. When I called the help line I was told she would return to the office in 10 minutes, which actually ending up being another 30 minutes. Extremely disappointing and absolutely ridiculous.

A gentleman at the location was mistreating his employee and acting unprofessionally in front of the customer (me). The hand truck I ordered was missing. When I disputed the charge, I was told that a Uhaul representative would be in contact. I never heard from anyone and then was charged for the equipment rental anyway. Pretty poor customer experience overall.

Lady ask me if I need help hooking up the trailer to which I said yes as I trust U-haul for safety. After she completed hooking up the equipment, she noticed that the chain sag is touching the ground when she said, you're fine. She didn't ask me to test the lights so I asked her and she said, “it's good” and that she can see the wal of structure go bright (I had my foot on the brakes). As I came to a stop on Elk Grove Blvd (along Harbour Point Dr), I heard a thud. When I checked the connection, I found out the the left chain was connected to the left if my hitch, the emergency brake chain to the right of the hitch and the right chain wrapped around the tongue of the trailer and NOT hooked up. The coupler is not sitting on the hitch-ball and was fully loose (turnes completely loose). I have photos. I am disappointed and very mad as I will be travelling with my kids. This is unacceptable.
