It took over 40 minutes to pickup in the freezing cold, 3 other U-Haul customers also very frustrated and the van I rented was reserved for another person AT THE SAME PICKUP. Vehicle needs to be washed and vacuumed. I will go back to location because it's 2 blocks from home.Peter O.

Parking to return is a problem. Many spaces taken with cars.Mark R.
The internet userface not intuitive and didn't work properly. The van was filthy with what looked like pet hair. The equipment I rented was not in van. I called customer service and thought was taken care of but still got charged for it. The workers at the gas station were not trained and had no clue about the uhaul.Angela E.
There is no in-person counter. Doing all background checks online and over a phone call is quite hectic. U-Haul also needs to clearly mention during booking that what locations have counters vs the locations which doesn't have an in-person counter.Mukesh C.

The self check out process was hard and time consuming. The process cut into our rental time by 40 mins. My reservation was originally booked as â€˜ in person check out' and 24hrs before I was set to pick up it changed to â€˜self check out'. Why does the application ask for a secondary contact only to be asked the same question during shelf check out but that contact is not an option since it's on the application. How does that make sense? Improve your system or tell people that checking out the vehicle by this automated way will take them 30-45mis.Jenee C.

using the web site was ok. i believe a mobile app would have been super. i kept entering my login and password -- but, it kept showing up as incorrect and i had to use the "i forgot my password" link every time. an app would have made this super easy to do check out and returns quick. the lock box and key with mobile device (especially with camera) was a very nice & pleasant method to rent the truck (in the world of AirBnB -- this was a nice and familiar process). will definitely use u-haul like this again.NICK S.

I would never show up to this haul location. Dolly was not in vehicle and area manager never picked up the phone after waiting more than 1 hour in call . Also getting the keys of vehicle was terrible. I understand this is a pickup location but have some one to attend phone calls. Stay away from this location.Ajaykishan G.
The whole pickup was a hassle and ended up having to talk to 3 different representatives before getting the keys to the truck. Ended up being 45 minutes after our reservation time all because of the stupid pick up method.Keith P.
Upon arrival, there were no parking spots available in the small lot. Every single spot was occupied by Uhaul trucks or non-commercial vehicles. I had to park the vehicle in a less than ideal situation that obstructed other trucks and vehicles attempting to enter/exit the parking lot.ERIC R.

I had so much trouble with the app and the online website uploading pictures of my uhaul. It took me 45 minutes to check my uhaul back in. I am not going to use the self-serve location again if I can help it due to this issue. This has happened multiple times, and it was incredibly stressful.Henry W.
Your service sucks! For the self-service, it did not clarify I needed to arrive 15 m before or after the time I set. Then I waited for 45 min on the phone. The truck dashboard was really dirty. I will never use U Haul again. the self service needs an overhaul.Michael T.

First off I had trouble even locating the lockbox it says it's near a garage with a orange lid or something and it's not â€¦ it's a Blue sign. I called the place to get help and the man kept telling me follow the steps online which I did, but it wouldn't let me continue to the next step for some reason. The bar code doesn't even scan. The man worked inside a car shop , he was unaware of the steps to get the uhaul truck. While I'm still trying to figure out how to get the keys for the truck I've spent 30 minutes of my rental time because I couldn't get proper help. I called uhaul corporate, but the lines were busy so I would've had to wait even longer. Then they had to verify my secondary contact which took another 15 minutes of my time. This could've been resolved if they would have asked promoted the verification as I booked the rental. Would Not recommend. It's giving unprofessional.Earlene R.

The pickup process is confusing. No information was given that there would need to be multiple contact numbers and that those numbers would need be available to pick up a call at the time of pick up. Part of the pick-up process could have been done ahead of time so that when showing up at the location, it was a matter of just grabbing the keys and going. There wasn't any information as to what the process would be or what would be required and there isn't a person on-site to help.Gustavo C.
Check for blankets, dollies, and other equipment before leaving the station. The station is not a U-Haul office!! You have to check your rental out, and back in on line because they aren't helpful in that area. It is a gas station and getting on the lot and off the lot was easy.William W.

Vehicle had an unreported dent and two tires left in it. I had a problem with the app when trying to report it and was unable to. App bug: on the screen to report damage, I clicked to take a photo but hit the back button before taking the picture (to add more details in the notes). Then the photo button no longer worked. I closed the app and re-launched it and it acted as though my pick-up was complete; I could not go back to the screen to report existing damage.Robert W.

I could not get into my lockbox for a large chunk of my reservation. The lock was stuck on something. The people working at the shell were laughing at me asking for help. They told me to call a uhaul rep, while I was 30 minutes into being on hold with your general line. I was calling every uhaul customer service line there was, put in a road side assistance ticket, and no one helped me. I ended up banging the lockbox enough that the lock became unwedged, but my hands are completely banged up. I have rheumatoid arthritis and my thumb joint can easily get injured, which has been sore for days since the rental. Lastly, the quote you all gave me was nowhere near what I was charged before mileage costs.Lillian R.

You're online checkin system is terrible. It wasn't clear from the beginning that the ONLY way to get my rental was the online system. I checked in online the day prior and STILL had to do more when I got there. Half the time the system wasn't working & the people working at this location didn't know shit about how any of it worked & were basically like â€œoh well.â€ It took me being an absolute asshole for them to get a general manager on the phone who could actually resolve the issues with the system. Not to mention, no one responded to your online chat when I tried to get help, which is supposedly available 24/7.Alisen S.
I registered my van online and for an online check-in/return. The platform and service, both for check-in and return are very poor confusing and overly time consuming. Probably the worst user experience I've ever had. I would think that in 2021, with all the car sharing apps/services, Uhaul would be a leader, but no.... When someone did finally help me, they required me to provide me information again, even though I filled out everything online before I arrived. They also tried to sell me insurance again. The app was not working the morning I came to pick up the U-Haul. The manager was 30 minutes late to the location so my U-Haul truck wasn't ready until 3,5 hours after my reserved pickup time. The manager gave me a deal so in the end it was okay, but not great. The first time I used the location it was great - so 50/50 so far.ANTHONY R.

I recently rented a Uhaul from the 4800 Ashland location. I made my reservation online and also completed the pre-check in. When I got to the site the next morning at the time of my appointment there was no U-Haul representative on-site. I asked the gas station worker (as the U-Haul is run by Shell) and he said the rep comes in around 930 or 945. I then waited until someone came and they started speaking in another language thinking I couldn't understand them but I could. The Uhaul guy was telling the gas station worker to make me wait for another Uhaul representative and that he didn't want to help me. When I told them I only needed the key to the truck and that I could understand their conversation he immediately went to help me (surprise). He gave me the key to the truck which I accepted (note no UHaul fuel gauge or paper work or anything else of the sort). The Uhaul rep went back inside the gas station. As I turned to look at the truck I noticed it was stuck in 6 inches of snow around all 4 tires, the windshield was covered in 7-8 inches of snow and when I turned the engine on the oil light kept beeping. I went inside to ask for help and instead they offered me a 2 foot shovel and told me not to worry about the oil light. As I was already running late for my move I took the shovel and started shoveling the Uhaul out of the snow and cleaning the windshield and mirrors. As I went to check the back of the truck, I opened it up to inspect the inside. After I finished I tried to close the back door but couldn't as it was jammed. I then went back inside and the rep came out with a screwdriver and asked me to hold up the door while he used the screw driver to fix the stuck lock latch. After an hour and a half of arriving I was finally ready to go. After I got back I filled the truck up to the max line and handed the same Uhaul rep the key (the same day at 5:10 pm). Instead of giving me a contract or anything else he took the key and left it at that. However, it seems he now notates below that I returned the truck the next morning which is completely false and also charged me extra. This is by far the worst UHaul experience I've ever had. Make sure you return inquiries in a timely manner. I still haven't been contacted as to why I was charged for fuel when I returned the vehicle with the amount given. Additionally, while completing the return form use the same checkout process as you did for check in as far as the gauge indicator to alleviate confusion. Why show a picture in the beginning then a metric at the end?!? Especially if the car doesn't even have the metric requested!Courtney S.

Truck smelled very strongly like weed. Never received the dollies I ordered. The license verification process should be done before during the order process, instead of being stuck in the cold trying to verify. Have just just sent a face pic while at the location to prove its the person picking it up. Took 20 min for the app to verify through pics of license and the passport pic not uploading on the app. The browser version didn't work at all. It was quite the headache.Dustin T.

There was a van available at location, but because I wanted the van until 7:00 pm and it had to be back by 4:00 pm the website showed no van at site. Luckily I spoke to attendant at site and I immediately leased van. Tweak your software to inform available times for vehicles.ðŸ™‚KENNETH S.
