Manager rented truck with non-working driver's seat belt. Said, "Use the middle seat belt. It's works fine. You'll have no problems." This was not true. The belt was broken. It was not safe. It beeped continually because he had us buckle it in the wrong socket. Furthermore, repairing the seat belt took our time away from traveling and packing and cost us stress and hours. Also, the passenger door after 4 days, buckled. It could not be opened from the inside without excessive force. There must have been a repair on this truck that warped the metal between the door and the side panel it opened on that was not noted by U-Haul or the manager who checked us out. I do compliment the road-side service representative, Jay, who called the day after trying to fix the seat belt, to encourage us to take the truck in to a repair shop that would fix the seat belt.

CHRISTIN EIRENE S.Before I criticize Uhaul for the truck I rented, I want to say that Brittany - - our representative at the counter was super nice, got me in and out very quickly and made sure we had the very best in service.The truck I rented was a little beat up. It had about 83 000 miles on it which in itself is not too much. But the driver's seat was somewhat crushed on the left side.. Someone very heavy must have been driving this truck for an extended period of time. Someone at UHaul should look into repairing that seat. Other that that, we had an excellent experience.
DAVID H W.Reserved a 10 foot box truck for an 8:00 am Saturday morning pick-up from our neighborhood U-Haul rental place. At 6:00 pm, the night before pick-up, I received a text from U-Haul saying the truck would not be available until 9:30 am. Since it was after hours, I could not reach my neighborhood U-Haul dealer. When I went to the rental place at 9:30, the person said, is everything OK? We had the truck waiting since 8:00. Clearly a lack of communication between HQ and the local office.

This was an actual rental office with a staff there specifically for your need. They greeted me upon arrival and provided service immediately with no delay unlike my pick up location. It was exactly the opposite of the pick up location. Trucks were on site, drop off was on site, there were professional adults.

You need to have a toll free number that people can call up and speak with a human to make reservations. Other than that the rental location that I worked with was excellent as was the vehicle.

ALBERTJ C.No one was there for our scheduled time. Several other people were waiting to be helped as well. A staff member finally came later but was not wearing a mask. I felt very unsafe. We had to follow this staff member to their lot (near the Somers Commons Shopping Center) to retrieve the truck. We were not given any instructions, just handed the key. It was so disorganized. I had ordered furniture blankets online but they were not there. After the move we realized the mileage on the contract they sent me via email was wrong, stating we drove almost 3x the miles we actually did. I highly suggest taking a picture of the speedometer and gas gauge before you leave with the truck as proof. It is also important to note that you need to drop the truck off at the business location, not the lot. It was all very confusing. I called with questions several times but had to go to voicemail or deal with very dismissive staff. Also beware of the drop off policy after hours. A staff member said to just drop off the key in the drop box. You need to complete a return on the website that makes you share your location, take pictures, etc. I would definitely not use this location again or recommend it to anyone.

They were not flexible when I asked if the UHaul could be returned at a different location. Overall the truck was fine the staff was not.

It was a small space and when they spoke with me and other customers they opened the window separating us - breathing on me 1 foot from my face. I felt my life was at risk. I asked that they put on a mask and was ignored. UHaul needs to require their employees who work with the public wear masks. It is unconscionable that they don't.

Virginia D.I did a self-return on Sunday, Oct. 11th but the APP could not find my location (the APP asked me to share my location to makes sure I was at correct Uhaul). My location setting was ON. It would not allow me to skip this nor proceed to upload pics. I left the truck and called Lil Pete's the next morning to see if I had to go again, but he said all was ok and truck had already been returned. Employee emailed me the receipt. HE was helpful. The APP needs to have option to skip "share location" setting or be able to skip it.

I was surprised and disappointed that they simply gave me the keys and sent me on my way. What if I loaded my vehicle on the trailer incorrectly and killed someone?
