The pick up process was not as speedy as I had hoped, considering I did everything online before hand. At one point, the employee at M & Sons literally said, "I lost your paperwork", and had to contact U-Haul 2 different times. I got the impression that he didn't really know how to use the system.

I had the truck for one day and was charged for two days. I was charged a cleaning fee even though I made sure the truck was clean when I dropped it off. I called customer service and the representative I spoke to said there was no picture attached to the file like there should have been, so I know the fee was bogus. It has been a major hassle trying to get this sorted out.

I got the truck with less than 3/8 ths of a tank of gas. It is difficult to gauge how much fuel to add when the tank is this empty. If a U-Haul store is going to charge a previous customer for lack of fuel, the tank ought to be filled up eliminating any confusion with how much needs to be added. The truck ended up with a rather significant surplus of fuel when returned.

The service is terrible. First they billed my account for the wrong truck size after I had just told them which one I preferred. Second when I went to return they tried to charge me twice as much because the mayhin the system was incorrect. Sketchy. I know this because I was looking on the screen and asking questions. Third I have a bill they printed for a higher amount then the one sent to my email. I honestly would not rent from here or even suggset this place.

After another uhaul location screwed up my reservation, they found another place with the size truck I needed down at M &son's. My stress level went from 0 to 999 during the mix up but M &sons was very good to deal with. They got me the size truck I needed. I will definitely recommend them. When I need another uhaul, I'll be calling M & sons!

The van was supposed to be dropped off at M & Sons by U-Haul in Menands. It wasn't. An attendant from M & Sons and I had to go to Menands to get it.

Although I had a reservation, no truck was available at the Broadway location in Albany. They sent me to a small dealer at an automotive garage in South Troy. The truck was surrounded by broken down cars. It took them over 15 minutes to get the truck out and it took all 3 people working there to complete the UHaul transaction. The truck seemed like it hadn't driven in a long time, it took miles to warm up and drive smoothly and it seemed like it was out of alignment. The passenger door was not closed all the way and it started rattling when I got on the highway. The latch on the back door was not working properly. I wanted to pick up a truck from one of your corporate locations to avoid getting a truck that was in bad shape, unfortunately I ended up at a small dealer who had a truck that had been sitting around for a while.

We were scheduled to pick up the truck at a different location. When we arrived, we were told the truck was not there, and were sent to this location. The gentlemen was very nice and helpful, considering we were unscheduled to him. We had reserved furniture pads, and this location did not have any. Again, not their fault, but extremely frustrating since we were moving antique and expensive furniture, and had to scramble to protect the furniture. The second shop did they best they could, however very frustrating experience since I reserved this all in advance and we had to rush to a second pickup place and didn't fully get what we ordered.

Actually have a truck available when one is reserved... Very frustrating to have moving delayed by an hour and have to drive halfway across town just to get a truck that you reserved to be at a location 2 weeks prior to moving...

It was in a poor part of town and although it was an auto repair shop, it felt more like a poorly maintained junk yard. Granted, we dropped it off later in the evening around 10:30 PM, so this only enhanced the poor image of the space. But, there was no indication of where to park the U-Haul. We felt uncomfortable dropping it off in that location and if anyone else asks for a recommendation, we will recommend that they pick a drop off place in the North side of town instead of the South side of town. Did not have any personnel interactions as it was so late at night so I cannot comment on that.

This was not my original choice of pickup location. It was dirty and cramped, barely any room to park. The trailer was buried behind a pile of snow when we arrived. Thankfully, the staff was able to pull it out themselves, and they helped attach it to the vehicle. An adapter was required to connect the trailer to the vehicle, and because time was running short, I had to buy one from them for $15, and I'll probably never need to use it again.

Location is well-lit and protected by security cameras. Staff explained how to correctly secure the car to the tow dolly. Diverse taxidermy in the office kept my attention while the computer was printing transaction documentation.

You need to be asking more questions than this. The fact is that I was confirmed for a rental out of the Albany, NY location the night before. I even spoke with them to see if I could come i a bit early. I was told that it was ready right then (Friday night). Then at around 9:30 AM on Saturday (the day of the rental) I was called and told that the rental was not available there. They gave my trailer that I had reserved a week prior to someone else. I then had to go to the Troy location. I was also given a 5X8 trailer instead of the 4X8 that I had reserved. So yes, the Troy location was courteous and friendly, etc. The rental experience was horrible. Sure I'd recommend the Troy location, but as for Uhaul itself; no way. In fact I will tell this story over and over again in the next week. Uhaul is crap. Don't go there if you can help it. Go anywhere else first.

This is the second time in three months that I have arrived at a UHAUL location and found that there was no truck for me. Both times I was told the truck was in Albany (ordered for Troy and confirmed the day prior). In fairness to Mand M, I believed them that somone in the main office switched locations without informing them, They didn't inform me either and I was paying two men by the hour while I waited for Mand M to straighten this out. It took about 45 minutes. i don't think I'll try UHaul for a third time. How frustrating. The men at Mand M were very courteous.
