I would recommend the location but I wouldn't recommend uHaul. Their mobile check in process is a joke. Constant "no network access" issues despite having great service. They even make you include employer information whom which they contact to verify you which is just embarrassing. If you want to move but not have the company harass you, go Penske.Jordon M.

NEVER do the mobile pick up. Worst experience Ive had with them. #1-- it is not a U-Haul location which I thought it was. #2-- the woman at the front desk of the gas station where I had to pick it up had no idea where the keys were...seems like no one is trained to take care of this. Even when I dropped it off, another lady had no idea what I was doing...she wasnt sure if she was supposed to take my key.. #3-- there was no dolly in the truck and it TOOK FOREVER to get ahold of customer service and to get my money back.Katlyn G.

The pickup location was convenient and wide open making it simple to maneuver through the parking lot. My issue was wit the way pick up is handled. I wasn't aware of the amount of time it takes just to receive approval. It took 5 minutes before anyone picked up On the online chat and I was in a time crunch. I feel this could have been done either by phone Or at the time ofSABRINA A.
The seatbelt was so sharp it left a red line on my neck after it scrapped my while driving. 2 days later and I still have that line on my neck, had I been in an accident that could have definitely cut way deeper than it did. The uhaul needs new seatbelts for serious safety reasons! Immediately.Caitlyn C.

Took a hour and a half to finally get the keys to the rental stood for the whole time at the shell location on Mclintock n Elliot then upon returning the wheels locked I was unable to move the vehicle from the gas pump sat in the heat for two hours until the tow truck arrived as many times as I have rented from Uhaul I have never had an experience like this before I sure hope I was compensated for the rental after waiting in the heat I wanted to go to the emergency room for heat related issues I hope this never happens to another customer ever againDeitrich H.
I used mobile check in, but the van number was not on the lot. Apparently it was checked in or rented out incorrectly. It took us an hour and 20 mins to get out of there. The clerk had too much to do, she had to tend to the store and us. Plus the card was not working on their system. It was a cluster of issues. What shouldve been a 5 min check in turned out to make us lose time in moving because of the curfew and had to extend another day.James N.
On Friday I reserved online and opted for the mobile checkin process as the selected U-Haul location didn't open early enough according to the website. I received a call an hour or so after I reserved and they indicated that I could not in fact use the mobile checkin process as that location doesn't have it but they would be open at 5 AM and I was supposed to pick up at 6. That was all fine with me no issue with any of that. Problem was when I showed up at 5:55 the shell/uhaul was closed. I started to call the location and no answer of course. 6:05 the shell/uhaul employee showed and told me they dint open until 6. Obviously I'm annoyed by the miscommunication and lack of clarity in pickup process at this point. Then the clerk tells me tht the dolly is not available as Indicated in my request. Kind of an issue because I needed a dolly. So his perspective he just removed the 7 $charge. My perspective is now me and my GF have to struggle with the large items I needed the dolly for. Then I ask him if the 5 hour clock starts when I take it versus the 6AM time I scheduled. He said yes but the paper still said 11AM drop off and didn't account for the time he was late to work and checking out my vehicle to me. As a customer we want what is explained. I appreciated the call to clarify the process and the lady on the phone was very nice. The problem is what she said was not true. Honestly I should've went to Penske. They at least offer a veteran discount and haven't caused me issues and in the past. Last time I use uhaul.Marcos A.

The interior and exterior of the vehicle were not as clean as the pictures during the inspection. There was a significant amount of damage to the vehicle that I needed to record prior to my trip. I would have appreciated a UHAUL representative to go over the vehicle with me and assure that the damage will be recorded as taking place prior to my involvement. The attendant inside the shell station was courteous and helpful.Nicholas J.

When I tried to pick up the truck, there was no lockbox on the rear of the truck as the app said. I went inside the Shell gas station and ask the attendant if he could help. He said they had nothing to do with the trucks. I went outside and called UHaul, the first time I was left on hold for 15 minutes, I hung up called back and was left on hold another 10 minutes. During this time I had gone into the gas station a couple of times, once to use the restroom, and again to buy a drink. My phone was on speaker, the gas station attendant could hear the UHaul message and knew I was trying to reach you. Finally, I get a lady with some knowledge, she said the key was in the gas station, while she was on the phone, on speaker she could hear me questioning the rude, unhelpful attendant. She couldn't believe his tone and ask to speak to him, he asked if I had paid for the truck, she said yes. He ask her again as if she did not know what she was talking about, when she confirmed the second time that I had infact paid for the truck, he spun around and opened the cabinet where the keys were stored, brought them to the counter and ask which one? Truck #1929's key was right there. It took me well over an hour to get the truck. What is more troubling to me, is why the attendant treated me like that, unwilling to help or even be cordial. I'm sure they have cameras and can verify all that happened. No one deserves to be treated so un-significantly. I keep wondering if he was the owner/manager of that station. I'm also wondering about your customer service dept., why was I on hold forever before I got to someone who could start the resolution of my problem? I'll check with Budget Trucks or some other truck rental service before you. Your customer service reps are horrible and that truck storage site is horrible too!Joyce M.
Got a truck and only drove it a few miles and returned it a day early to see that i was charged 135 for a 10 foot truck that was only driven 5 to 10 milesJoshua R.
The lady was very rude to me. I had paid for a 24 hour rental, rented out at 7pm the day before, and without telling me, she set a return time of 8am the next day, which is not even 13 hours. She then wanted to charge me a late fee for a return time she never even told me about. When I brought this up she became very rude and aggressive, having the worst attitude I have ever dealt with with customer service. I do not suggest this lady who worked with me should be taking U-haul orders.osameh O.

Night mare from Hell. This location should not be allowed to represent Uhaul. Woman there has no clue what she is doing and she doesn't care either. My relationship with Uhaul is OVER. Please be sure to take a picture of the mileage and gas. I told the cashier that the information was not correct and he advised me that he could not correct it. My credit card was falsely charged and I am very disappointed. Don't cheat your customers!!Quinarda K.

It's not so much uhauls fault, but that location (gas station/convenience store) has one employee per shift. These employees are busy with their side (cigarettes/beer) of the business so the wait for the truck rental is long. Furthermore the employees have no idea how the uhaul side works so they to call uhaul every time. The are making you look bad. I also returned my truck early and still got charged for both days.Patrick F.

The cashier was not very good. He took a long time to load things up on the computer. There were also charges like the environmental fee and other small fees that were added on. I booked a van at a location 2 miles away. I was sent to a location 10 miles away where the van I ordered was not available. I did get a bigger one at the same price but that consumed a lot more gas and was far less easy to drive the 360 miles I had to drive.Robert S.

It is a gas station/convenience store. I ended up waiting over 20 minutes to drop off because of the other business the single individual was doing. Even then I was not sure if it was all good because I was not sure if he comprehended what I was saying - and that wasn't a reflection on the language. The contract spelled out to return where ever it was convenient, and he didn't seem to understand that.jerry M.

The gas station attendant was the opposite of helpful and with a 6:30 pick up I had to wait 30 minutes to get a hold of someone until they could help. Fortunately the woman whom helped me on the phone was an angel or this would have been a complete failure. She deserves the highest praise.Caleb J.

I've used Uhaul 10 times and been a happy customer. This time was absolutely terrible. I'm currently in a dispute because of multiple things that went wrong. Self pick up didn't work, over charged by 250,00 $, etc..... so disappointed in the whole process this time. At this location the guy didn't give me a walk through before or after my experience. It was very difficult to drop off the truck due to most physical locations being closed. Took us about an hour and a half to find a location locally and in Tempe. Very huge pain! Locations need to be updated.Shayna C.
There was only one person at the station. She was ringing up food, gas, dealing with propane tanks and trying to check truck rentals in and out. This Shell station either needs to decide it just wants to be a Shell station (and have a single employee) or be something more (and have more employees on hand to do the work). Took me 45 minutes to get a truck (which was already reserved and held on a credit card), most of which was waiting for people who came in after me but wanted to buy cigarettes or gas, etc. If you're going take the extra revenue to be a uhaul dealer, take responsibility!Maureen B.

Very nice person at the convenience counter, multitasking jobs. When I returned truck on time, the person there could not verify anything, stating that he has no authority, is have to come in the next day, when I had to work. Got a subsequent email stating I owe late charges, and need to pay online. Have yet to check if they charged me for fuel. The original guy marked the lease papers with 3/4 tank when it was 5/8, wouldn't change it and said it will be OK. Nice people, clean truck, unprofessional, disorganized service. I am done with U-Haul.Sean T.

The location rep was having computer issues which delayed our rental by 45 minutes from our planned pickup. He was nice and apologetic but wasn't able to give his undivided attention to resolving the existing customers issue because it was a working gas station with other customers checking out. The inside of the truck bed had used furniture covers all over the floor and the cabin smelled like cigarettes. The previous rental users smoked in the cabin as the tray was filled with cigarette butts. We ended up cleaning it out because of the smell and we were driving 2 hours away to move some personal furniture.Valerie A.

This place is a gas station that has customers coming and going very frequently. At the time I was there to get the truck, I had to wait about 20 minutes before the one employee could assist me. Service was totally unacceptable for the following reasons: 1. The person checking the truck out was also waiting on the counter for the convenience store/gas station. He was interrupted many times, so that the check out was 45 minutes. 2. I requested a location near my home. This location was 6 miles further (I passed three U-HAUL locations on my drive home) 3. I reserved a furniture dolly which they did not have.Louis W.
I had a 7 am appointment to pick up the truck. At 7 am, the person there said the Uhaul person doesn't come till 8. I came back at 8. The Uhaul person also did the gas station and convenience store, making me weight everytime a gas payment or issue or someone buying something came up. This was not a good experience.Gene W.
I ordered a 10' truck and when my husband picked it up at noon he was given a 15' truck and said they told him that it was is all they had. I then called the Uhaul office and asked if it would be possible to trade it in for a smaller truck...my husband did not want to drive this larger vehicle to LA. The gal I spoke with was great in getting us the correct 10' truck from another location. Of course that meant my husband had to drive the 15' truck over to the new location to trade it in. Once that was completed we were able to load the truck with my sons items in preparation for a 4AM departure to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, once the truck was loaded we went to move it out of the street and it wouldn't start. Called Customer service and they sent someone out that evening. After looking over the vehicle it was determined that the key was not operating properly and the security system would not allow the truck to start. Unfortunately at this point it is now 7pm and the only option was for a new key to be made in the morning...after 7am. The next morning my husband picked up the new key and at 7:45 am they were finally ready to head west (nearly 4 hours later than planned). I feel as though very little was done to accommodate the numerous mishaps that occurred along the way. Everything was handled adequately yet all the running around was left up to us when none of this was our doing...feeling less than satisfied!Timothy M.
