No dolly! Mobile pickup is set up horribly. When we called to let you know we didn't have a dolly Uhaul you asked me to drive 45 mins away in the U-Haul to got one. My entire moved was done just by picking everything up very disappointed.Olivia M.
Truck was not clean. Inside or Outside. Tar or something black and sticky all over the passenger seat. Air conditioning didn't work properly. No air came out of the vents no matter what setting you had it on. I was asked if I would bring the truck back early/after hours the day before so she could re-rent it because she wanted to go to the lake. Which wasn't a big deal. So I did. When I mentioned the condition of the truck upon return, she did nothing about it nor contacted me back. As she said she would try to get me a discount. I like to support small businesses that's why I chose this location. But I'll think again if I need a U-Haul in that area again.Chad B.

When I rented a moving truck from another company, the gas tank was full and when I finished using it, I refilled it and topped off the tank for the next customer. When I got the UHaul truck today, the gas tank was a little over a quarter tank full. It would be nice to start with a full tank and not have to fuel up first before using it. Otherwise, the 15 foot truck was easy to drive.Rodney M.

The service by the agent/representative was excellent and accommodating. This complaint is not directed against them as it is directed towards the national corporation's directed policy of giving a customer a vehicle that has a gas tank that is not completely full. At one time, when a vehicle was rented from your company, the tank was completely full. When the vehicle was returned, it was understood that if the tank was not completely full, the customer was charged for the amount of gas needed to refill the tank. The price per gallon of gas needed to fill the tank was charged a higher rate than the going rate of gas. This policy made it easy on the customer as they knew when they how much gas was needed in the tank when they returned the vehicle. You cannot overfill a gas tank. Now the policy is to estimate what the gas gauge indicates the amount in the gas tank and the customer is required to return the vehicle at the "same" level when it leaves the lot. The customer is given a vehicle that they have probably never driven. This means they do not know the size of the tank of the vehicle they have rented. They do not know what kind of gas mileage the vehicle gets. They also do not know how fast the needle on the dashboard that indicates the amount of gas in tank moves as it is filled. This makes is difficult for the customer to GUESS how much gas will be needed to return the gas needle at the same level it was when it was rented. This is all to the company's advantage as the tank is usually returned with more gas when the vehicle is returned than when it left the lot. At least that has been my recent experiences when I have rented a vehicle from U-Haul. This is not the first time has happened to me. Today, I returned the rental unit with at least one-eighth of a tank MORE gas than when I rented it! I had no idea how big the gas tank was, what kind of gas mileage the van gets and thus no idea as to how many gallons of gas would be needed to return the gas tank to the same EXACT level as it was when I left the lot. As I put gas in the vehicle at the pump, the needle on the gas tank moved slowly and this helped cause me to refill the tank to a much higher level than when I picked the vehicle up. If the tank had been filled when I rented it, all of this complaint would have moot as self serve pumps shut off when the tank has been filled. I bought at least three gallons of gas I did not need to put in the tank that should have been returned at just less than 7/8ths full instead of almost full. This means I spent ten dollars on gas that I did not need to buy. If the tank had been full when I rented it, this would not have happened. Today's experience is not unique with this agent. This same scenario occurred with other franchisees as well. This makes me an unhappy customer. My long complaint about the extra ten dollars I spent for this renting experience is not directed against your licensing agent. This is complaint is directed against your national policy of returning the vehicle with the "same" estimated gas as it had when it left the lot. This policy favors the company and costs the customer more money for the usage of the vehicle than what is indicated as to what will be charged per the rental agreement stated in writing. There is no refund to the customer or are rental charges adjusted when the tank is returned with more gas in the tank than when it left the lot. I was very happy with the service I received from your agent. I am very unhappy that I spent at least ten dollars extra that I should not have spent because of your policy and directive that your agents are required to follow. All you have to do is fill the tank before renting and require it to be filled when it is returned. I feel like U-Haul, not the agent/representative, ripped me off. They are only following your orders. Your reply to this issue is most appreciated.Paul S.

When a customer says they need extra days with a truck take care of it right then. Don't kick the can down the road for someone else to have to worry about. I was also put in an impossible situation. They wanted my truck back and it was still loaded waiting for my crew to be available to unload it. Also, the companies you refer customers to for loading/unloading are way too expensive. Wanting to charge $150 extra to unload a console piano that was strapped to a piano dollie with wheels was ridiculous.Carl H.

I rented a utility trailer that requires 4' extension to hook the lights up. Whenever that was necessary in the past the extension has been supplied. At this store I was told they do not supply them and to if I didn't have one to go buy one at Napa and they would reimburse me. I did that and when she saw the amount she decided it was the customers responsibility to supply the extension. Will not be renting from them again!Wayne R.

Troubling that I had to drive 25 miles 1 way to get the trailer. Then I had to wait 45 minutes for the right person to get to work so I could get the trailer. The idea that I didn't know where I would have to go get the trailer until the day before I could pick the trailer up was unacceptable. Someone called and left a message where to go and who to call. The Pick-up Location had no idea that I had a reservation, they just happened to show up to open their other business for the day. The employee present didn't know how to process the rental, so I had to go back online and complete the rental process without their participation. My truck had no heat. I drove in snow and sleet and temps in the low 30's all day. I was unable to defrost the windshield and had to pull over often to keep it safe for driving.COLE H.

Handy location, U-Haul box on door not visible since outer security door was open such that the uhaul drop box was against wall hidden by door opened and against wall. Dark. No instruction. No email to access return info since my order changed 2 times at pickup. Called uhaul for help waited on hold no one pick up in dark for 20 minutes so hung up. Super Nice people. Couldn't say enough about them. But unfortunately, they were unprepared for the issues that arose. There was no electrical adapter for the trailer. Lights didn't work so I personally had to go to the auto store and buy fuses to fix the fuse box myself. Uhaul was a pain to work with and wouldn't listen to Lisa, the store owner. Truck was not clean inside and there was sticky stuff all over the seats. Melted gummies on the floor. I went to pick up the truck with enough time to beat a storm that was coming but by the time I actually left the location, I had been there for just about 6 hours. I paid to have the truck for 5 days yet I ended up being able to use the truck for only 4 because I had to buy parts for the truck and fix it myself and then deal with uhaul. Ultimately, I didn't beat the storm and couldn't do anything with the truck for more than 24 hours. This was a pain and put me way behind schedule. I am military and had required time frames to hit so then I had to try and make contact with my new base in order to explain that I wasnt going to make it on time. That was a whole issue of its own. Overall, it was a terrible experience. I am currently disputing the charge. I never would have paid $2000 when I arrived if I knew that I wasn't going to get what I paid for. Uhaul said they can't help me and that I need to make contact with the contracted store. I have called them twice now and have yet to hear back. At this point, I would NEVER recommend uhaul to any of my family, friends, or military colleagues.Jordan C.

Had my uhaul reserved and already paid for. The town it was supposed to be in didn't have it so had to drive 30 min to another town to get it. Upon arrival to pick it up they said they couldn't complete the transaction that way and had to cancel it and start all over which incurred a double charge to my account. They never done a walk around to check the equipment, didn't give me a pamphlet or a print out on anything. Didnt have stickers to annotate damage already on uhaul. Not 10 miles into our trip our car hauler had a blowout and we were stuck on the side of a busy 2 lane road for an hour and a half in 106 degree heat index waiting on roadside assistance. Not happy at all and really dont want to use uhaul again because of this horrible experience.Colby H.

Reserved trailer through Jana in carrollton, since she didn't have what I needed she checked and found one in higginsville, mo. Jana reserved one for me, I called higginsville to confirm the reservation.the lady I talked to said yes it was reserved. She asked if I would pick it up on Friday. I told her it would be Friday late afternoon or Saturday morning . ( my husband is a truck driver wasnt sure when he would be home) she said ok she would note it and it WOULD still be reserved for Saturday. When I got to higginsville " Jeremy" the worker there didn't know where to find my reservation. He call the lady and even tried to call some bob guy.. By this time it is after noon I had been there over 30 minutes already. I tried to get my son to reserve it over the phone he couldn't because it told him the tire shop in higginsville was closed ( this was after we found out my reservation had been canceled) After SEVERAL calls to the 800 number Debbie and Rachael were able to get one reserved for me(3 HOURS LATER) yes 3 hours!!!!! Took the trailer back to Gary in shell rock Iowa and at least he was awesome and knew what he needed to do..Would I rent from uhaul again , I can honestly say I don't know since there are other rental companies out there , but I do know. I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH HIGGINSVILLE AGAIN. Jeremy tried but he wasnt trained. Higginsville experience was horrible!!!!!! Should not have taken 3 hours!!!!????Patty H.

We rented twice. Both times the lady charged us wrong and didn't know what the price needed to be. The second time she wanted me to call customer service because"it works better just in case you had questions" . We had to move other trailers by ourselves to get to the one we needed, then had to hook it up ourselves. They did not inspect it or anything. I'm very disappointed.Melissa T.
