Karey BermynI recently had a disappointing experience with U-Haul that left me frustrated and inconvenienced. I had reserved a 20-foot moving truck well in advance to ensure I had enough space to transport all of my belongings. Unfortunately, when I arrived to pick up the truck on the scheduled day, I was informed that only a 15-foot truck was available. This was not only a significant inconvenience but also caused me to leave behind some valuable furniture items, including a mahogany bed frame, a two-piece sectional couch, and a patio table with chairs. The entire purpose of renting a larger truck was to accommodate all my belongings in a single trip, and U-Haul's failure to provide the truck I had reserved resulted in an incomplete move. This experience caused additional stress and cost me valuable time and money. While the staff at the rental location were polite and tried to assist, the fact remains that U-Haul's reservation system failed to deliver on its promise. Also, I had to drop-off the truck 30 km's away, in which they wanted to charge me for extra kilometers on the truck. There was an actual drop-off location 1 block away from my new home I moved into, yet the threat of being charged extra for delivering it to the wrong drop point is written in the contract Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with unreliable rental services. I hope U-Haul can improve its reservation system to ensure that customers receive the equipment they have booked. This experience has left me with a negative impression of U-Haul, and I will think twice before using their services again.

Glen WallaceThe gentleman who assisted us was was very nice and efficient. Regarding the above selections, I do not think the condition of the vehicle is necessarily the fault of this particular rental location. The vehicle ran fine, however, the windshield wipers were old, chattered and skipped causing very limited vision in the rain. On top of this, one headlight was out and the other was old giving off very little light. We had to run with the high beams which bothered other vehicles. Since this was a one way trip, and we were already hours away and up the mountain by the time we hit rain and the dark of night, there was no returning, or going to another location, for another vehicle.

Jeffrey WylieGetting a notification the day before my rental pick up that you were going to downsize my trailer from a 12' x 6' to a 8' x 5' is unacceptable. Due to the lack of competition I had no choices but to stick with U-haul but in the future will plan to seek alternatives to U-haul. Improve your customer service and your business practice!

Also I was directed to drive the Uhaul to a location in Black Creek instead of the closest location in Campbell River, causing me to pay even more milage that I already should not have been charged for.

Guillaume PeuchetI reserved a truck a month in advance, the day before I was supposed to pick up my truck I got a call to inform me there's no truck in the location I needed and I have to drive 35 minutes away to another location. This was extremely inconvenient, moving is already stressful, I didn't need the add on stress of extra driving. The vehicle was clean but smell of cigarettes.

BRIAN MEDLANDWe booked 2 months in advance. When we stopped in the day before our rental to ensure everything was good to go the tow dolly was not there. We then had to drive 20 minutes away the next day to pick up one at a different location. The truck was absolutely filthy inside the cab and truck had not been swept. There was only one person working at the location at pickup (other was late) and so it took us close to an hour to get everything done and get out of there. Not even a walk thru of equipment. The truck worked well but service was seriously lacking and I had to clean it myself.
