The lady behind the counter was honestly quite rude. Yelling a lot with a very poor attitude and stopping to help other customers in the middle of our transaction. I asked for a receipt, and she got an attitude and very hatefully said â€œyou've gotten three emails about it what more do you want I can't do anything else for you.â€ I have never used uhaul before so I wasn't aware of the electronic receipt worked. Then when I returned the uhaul she again very hatefully said I would receive an email stating that it had been returned and that was the end of our encounter, she took the keys and that was it. Not sure if we were supposed to inspect the uhaul or check gas level or anything she just took the keys and then that was it. I waited 6 hours and still hadn't received an email stating the uhaul had been returned so I called the store to ask if everything was okay and to see if there was a reason I hadn't received the email. She told me it shows returned in her system and that there is pretty much nothing else she would do for meâ€¦â€¦..Amber M.

The attendant could not complete the rental return accurately and showed a very large outstanding balance (of over $56,000). She then stated she had to have her supervisor complete the check in so I left at 8am. I finally got an email after 5PM with the fuel level below what I had left it and an additional charge that is incorrect. I have since sent an email to request a correction.John B.
This location is out in the country so there is no where else to go. The worst part was the online reservation which was a nightmare. This was my first time reserving a truck on line and I have been using U-Haul for 30 years. I could always reserve a truck at the location in my area with no trouble. Drop off had to be changed 3 times because of no available small truck in Georgetown, SC. But the customer service reps pulled it off from Fraser St in Georgetown to Pawleys Island and had to change again to Murrills Inlet. The lady running Midgard Storage was very helpful.Kelley H.

Although the woman that helped me was fine. The mileage on the U-Haul was off almost 200 miles when I picked it up I called and let them know shortly after I left with it since I got the contract via email a bit later. So when I went to return it, it became a whole fiasco. I had to wait for like 15 minutes while the woman was talking to U-Haul to figure out what to do. I was given an email to send the photos too. And then U-Haul had the audacity to charge me for all the miles that they claim were missing, hours after I dropped it off. The woman who I sent the photos as evidence to is the one who did this when she checked it out over two hours after I dropped it off. I had to wait for someone to call me back for over an hour. I was charged over 100 dollars extra on this rental. And they claim the refund will take up to 48 hours to clear. Either way it should have never happened nor should I have ever been charged for something that you had received proof I didn't do hours prior to charging me. If the mileage had been recorded correctly by the location when checked in previously, this would have never happened.Ashlee H.

Major run around because the person did not refresh their computer. 1,5 hours after we arrived we finally had our truck. The car dolly had frayed wired and the brake lights didn't work so we didn't take it. There was not one furniture dolly in any of the trucks there. A crazy busy location not well equipped to handle uhaul in our experience.Carolyn M.

We reserved the truck at least six weeks in advance. The day before we were supposed to pick it up, they called and said we had to pick it up at another location, which was further for us. We got there and the truck wasn't there. We had to wait 90 minutes for one to arrive. Sandy, at the Moneta location, was very friendly and helpful, but the UHaul system needs drastic improvement! A contract should mean something, especially when people are moving furniture in the heat! We will NEVER rent a UHaul again!!!Thomas H.

Actually have the equipment at the proper pickup location -since I had to drive 45 minutes out of my way, both directions, to pick up the truck and had to deal with attitude from Kendra at the Central Virginia dispatch office to start with.BARBARA R.

Uhual called me a day before my pick up day to tell me they gave away the truck I reserved almost a month in advance. Because of that, they gave me a truck that was over 35 miles out of my way, adding on almost 2 extra hours of commuting. This location was also completely separate from the car dolly I originally requested. Because of major inconvenience, I canceled the dolly and found other arrangements that were also a hassle. Next time, don't overbook trucks on a holiday weekend for the sake of making more business.RACHEL C.

Make the rates more consistent. The rental last week was $1,19/ mile. The next week I was only charged $. 89/ mile for the same truck. I got the insurance the second time and the bill was still $25 cheaper. I feel like I should be entitled to $35 back or at least a $35 credit for next future rental as a good faith measure.Richard R.

Rented a truck and tow trailer at this location April 2019 and man working in mini mart was taking care of me in between other customers and then claimed his computer was down. It took 1 1/2 - 2hrs to complete transaction. Horrific customer service! Swore I would NEVER go back to this location. Due to no trucks at SML Storage/uhaul on Lakewood forest rd, out of desperation i rented a truck on line for Thursday 1/28/21 back at Moneta mart. I needed to change reservation due to snow/ice weather predicted and out of my control. I changed reservation on Wednesday evening 1/27/21 5-5:30p for Friday 1/29/21 on line. I confirmed my change on the phone with a representative that all remained the same except for pick up day and was told yes that is correct and was never informed of gas mileage rate change for changing the day until I did mobile check in to find out my mileage rate was significantly different. I called uhaul and rep told me to dispute upon return. I returned the truck 1/29/21 and informed lady inside at counter I was told to speak to someone upon return about disputing a charge and lady told me to call uhaul. I called and rep Tanya was very nice and very accommodating and rectified my issue with a field service supervisor and gave me a credit. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS MONETA MART LOCATION TO ANYBODY!! The truck today was on location but covered in ice & snow & delayed my departure again.....1hr. Mobile check in old me to go inside on the left was the key. No key....lady inside had to get it from behind counter. What if they were not open? Mobile check in wouldn't work to obtain a key? Unfortunately, this location has a very bad reputation. Movers I hired said they experienced bad service there and would never go back, but spoke very highly and great things about SML storage location on Lakewood forest rd. SML Storage is the place to do business. I also have 2 storage units there for quite some time! Cindy is amazing!Lisa L.

Give better instructions/ details for newcomers once one arrive to the location.. I was uncertain if someone was going to meet me at the location, or go inside the store to speak to a cashier. As well as where to park my vehicle if need be? Knowing these questions in advance would be most helpful.Lisa A.

although Sandy was helpful, to rent this type trailer/hitch someone should be onsite with knowledge and ability to help I would say mileage to this site is 29 miles not 19. screw down for the ball needs service tires had a terrible bounce loaded or emptyJerry O.
It took over an hour to get my truck processed. The representative did not know how to use the computer system. A manager had to come in on her birthday day off to help. Then I was charged for equipment I didn't rent and I was told I could get it taken off at the drop off location. The drop off location told me they couldn't do it. Uhaul needs to have better customer service and a better website to manage the rental process.Alex G.
