WARNING-BEWARE and USE ANOTHER COMPANY-NOT UHAUL!! Your personal information will be collected via photocopy at this, and perhaps, other locations. The smartphone service process obtained all information! Following that validation, we were to only go in and pickup the keys to the vehicle; however, the keys would not be provided at this location until a photocopy of both the creditcard and Driver's license (ALREADY obtained & authorized in the smartphone checkout process) was provided. UHaul REFUSED to help when called during the key pickup debacle-35 minutes following completion of the smartphone process until we felt there was no option. UHaul has refused to respond to that this process that placed secure, private information, already obtained by their system, into physical circulation. I am STILL awaiting a proper explanation and remedy! I had to cancel my credit card and have a new one reissued following this experience. Perhaps if UHAUL is concerned about customers, they should respond to them. 3 business days have passed (their timeline-not mine) since my concerns regarding this horrendous experience!!

When I got the cargo van I had rented, there were old donuts in my seat and the cup holders all had spoiled chocolate milk sitting in cups--all of which I had to clean out prior to leaving. Prior to that, the attendant at the Motel 6 was less than hospitable and quite rude with questions and concerns I was asking. Definitely a less than pleasing experience.

Rental truck was not there upon arrival. Husband was told to go to another location, but the truck was not there either. Called UHaul, the person insisted that the truck was at the original location. Turns out, someone had borrowed our truck temporarily after our start time had already started. Also, no dolly was in the truck despite us paying to rent one.

Your computer system is great in that I get everything noticed by email, voice mail and text. For the second year in a row, my pick up place for the truck moved from where I wanted to pick it up to the Howard Johnson's/now Motel 6 on Route 1 in Lawrenceville. Again great notice on the voice mail, text and email. For both years, although having all the information pre-registered into your computer system, the desk at the hotel seems lost and can't find any of the information. It took 55 minutes to get the van yesterday, after the clerk called someone four times, asked for my license twice, swiped my credit card twice, did not have the furniture dolly that I had pre-ordered (second year in a row for that). The clerk's personality is probably not want you have representing you for U-Haul. He may have been new and not understood your computer system, but he could have said that or tried to communicate his issues. He ultimately did allow me to return the vehicle at 5:00 PM versus the 4:00 PM that was on the original documentation after I told him that it might not be possible since although I arrived at 9:00 AM (when the truck was reserved for) I got the keys for the truck at 9:55. There was a person he was helping before me that he wrapped up at 9:10. He did initially tell me at 9:30 if I brought it back after 4:00 PM that I would be charged additional time. I have rented trucks previously from U-Haul from your Mount Laurel location (which is a U-Haul location) and never had any issues with either the right equipment being there when it was reserved, or being able to have all the paperwork done (after doing it all on your computer system prior) and being on my way in five minutes. I understand that this hotel location is not a primary U-Haul place, but if you are paying the hotel anything for doing this service, they need to be better trained in your computer system and they need to have some courses on customer care. By the way, your equipment was clean, the van was new (only had 6100 miles on it) and it performed great in very rainy weather.

Even though I did the online rental pickup process, the person in the hotel told us we had to wait until his system acknowledged our pick-up. I tried to explain that I had done the online process, but he was just kind of rude and irritated. Finally, he acknowledged that I could take the truck based on the online confirmation, but it wasn't a pleasant experience.

I rented a van for pickup 3 miles from where I needed it, the night. Score I get an email with a bait and switch indicating that pickup is actually 12 miles from where I wanted to be!— knowing I was out the money to have to pay 20 extra miles, I began frustrated. The , after finally getting my van, I found other items were being stored in the back!! I had so much to move, I had to make two trips since I didn’t have the FULL space of the van and other stuff in it. Will think twice about using UHaul again!

Absolutely no help hooking up the trailer. Just sent around to back of motel and told to pick it up myself. Didn't have the blankets I ordered (only 4 of 6). Charged for "Safe Tow" when I declined it on the website when I reserved. Must have changed when UHaul changed my pick-up location. Pretty lame all around...

There was a yellow solid light on the dashboard of the vehicle, which I didn’t know what it meant. I didn’t know how to turn the head lights on either. If someone had asked me whether I had a question about how to operate the vehicle, that would have been great.

It was adequate but hard to find and hard to understand the staff on the phone. Limited selection of equipment. They incorrectly charged me for towing that I didn’t want. Waiting on the refund. There was one person handling multiple tasks at the same time which took longer and added to the inefficiency, especially as I was under a time constraint. However, they were friendly and pleasant and apologized for the overcharging, saying it will be refunded in 2-3 business days.

The lobby is disgusting. The man working there was on his phone scrolling facebook the whole time i was talking to him while returning the truck. he never checked the truck in, and 4 days later i received a call from U Haul asking where the vehicle was. This caused a lot of stress and anxiety simply because an employee was incompetent and couldn't perform the basic functions of his job. because of his incompetency, i had to take time out of my job, two days in a row, to talk with u haul representatives to try to track this vehicle down. this is completely unacceptable and a very poor reflection on the company. i will never rent from u hail again and will be telling everyone I know to do the same.

While this location was okay - I showed up for my original pickup location and was then told over the phone that 24/7 truck share was not available there, even though my reservation had been confirmed since the 15th. Utter bullshit! Customer service was useless over the phone, but thankfully connected me to the regional manager who was able to help.

This is a run down old Howard Johnson motel which the person behind the desk said it will be a Motel 8. The person was impatient while I checked the vehicle to make sure it complied with NJ laws. The vehicle was parked in back of the motel and covered with pine needles. He tried to charge me more than the price quoted by $100. He argued when I called U-Haul and then argued with U-Haul when I put him on the phone with U-Haul. The motel has undesirable people hanging around the outside as maybe this is in a bad neighborhood and a spot for less than desirable people to stay for the night.

Allow employee to modify charges. Inform customers of additional taxes/fees ontop of base price upon reserving a truck. I was told that there were no other taxes/fees and there was an optional insurance coverage. I was never asked if I wanted the coverage, but it was automatically added to my invoice and the employee at the pick up location could not modify the charges.

Although I made a confirmation, I still had to give the agent all the information. He tried charging me more than what was on the registration, until I called Uhaul customer service. He couldn't find the key to the truck. It took me 45 mins to get my rental.

It was very unclear where in the parking lot to leave a truck. There was no drop box for the keys, despite the instructions saying to find a drop box. The gentleman inside the Howard Johnson said I had I leave the keys with him, and was very confused that I had done self drop off, even though I followed the directions from U-Haul exactly.

Have more equipment. I wanted a dozen furniture pads and there were not available. My furniture sustained damage because of this and I am displeased with UHaul over all. What is the point of having things I can order for my trip if they are unavaliable when I need them?

Returning the equipment here was easy but the reception seemed like an annoyance to the woman attending the desk. She didn’t even care to inspect the clean and well cared for trailer. I was disappointed after treating it like it was my own. They checked it in eventually even though I returned it 2 days before due date.

I wanted a ramp and the man told me there was one in the truck. There was no ramp as I come to find out a bit to late. The woman renting when I arrived to drop off the truck had someone bring up the rental. For me however I had to walk to get it the rental and walk back to return. Hmm interesting because of both issues, I wouldn’t rent from this place again. It’s the details that matter in a business. The people who don’t appreciate that fact, run businesses that are less than par.

Next time, please ensure that customers will not find a used sex toy in the bed of the truck. Also, ensure that customers are not double charged for items that they didn't receive in the first place. Finally, ensure that future customers do not have to wait in your office for upwards of half an hour while you try to remove the charge, only to arrive home and see on their bill that the charge was more than doubled, instead of removed.

Nice place for me as it is very near my house. I went there twice because I suppose I could rent at the hotel, but, it was not possible. I have to do it online and come back to pick up the van.

I paid ahead, and they said we did not. They said it was because we did not take the insurance, but we DID take the insurance. We ordered a dozen blankets, only 6 were available. They said they would credit us back for the other 6 blankets but they did not. It took an hour for us to pick up the truck when we had paid ahead, and only needed to pick up the keys.

Truck was to be available at 10 A.M. but was not there. I had to call customer service to find out where the truck was. They got in touch with the previous customer. That customer said they would probably drop it off around noon. I was told that it would be ready around 1 p.m. I requested a 15 footer on-line and was give a 20 footer at the price of the 15 footer( $97) according to email and confirmation. When I went to pick up the truck was charged $117 not the $97. Person in charge said there was not a thing they could do about the charge and that I had to take it up with customer service. I was also inconvenienced on the time of pickup which resulted in a much later move then I wanted.

This was ridiculous. I asked for 24 hours and put a closer location only to find a farther location and a 4 hour rental. Then we needed to ask for a longer rental. As we had limited time the guy still said we had to call the 1-800 number. So we waited almost 52 MINUTES in the parking lot. To get it until 5. Then we were charged $60 more than the estimated cost. I am beyond angry.

Vehicle was an hour late and Howard Johnson’s staff knows nothing about the rentals. The facility itself was very unpleasant. Look instead for a real U-Haul dealer, not just a drop off site.

There was nobody from U-Haul at the drop off location 3:30pm on a Saturday. I had refueled the tank >$30 (to a level higher than I received it) right before drop-off. Rrceived an email that night indicating that I was charged an additional $35+ refueling fee. (I only drove 81 miles). I questioned the charge right away via email to drop-off location but received no response. After 3 days I called the location and the person I spoke to said I had to call corporate U-Haul to resolve the issue. They also refused to give me their name for reference). Issue subsequently resolved by rental origination location.

Lawrenceville location was not ready at 8:30 am despite my reservation confirmed for 8:30 am. Howard Johnson hotel manager had to help me process the paper work, but ran into (understandable) difficulty. We called Sharon at Toms River U-Haul location (phone: 848 480 0572) and she was extraordinary in helping me resolve the issues at the Lawrenceville location on 5/26.
