The manager told me that the truck came in with the car transport attached so he kept it like that for me when I arrived. I had to ask him to remove it so the truck could be loaded. When driving the truck, it didn't seem to drive as well as the other one we rented. When we called the location to tell him, he said we have insurance and 24 hr road service if anything happens. The truck subsequently broke down! An entire part of the drive shaft fell off the truck while driving making the truck completely inoperable. We notified the agent that the truck was in need of a tow because we saw the part fall off from underneath the truck. Regardless of us sending photos, we were forced to wait 90 mins on the side of the highway for a repair person to diagnose. We were told it was policy. The repair person showed up right at the 90 minute mark toured the truck and told my guy to tell me he can fix the truck but he has to go eat first. And he left. Rude. I don't need sarcasm when our entire trip was hijacked by a broken truck we questioned the location about prior to beginning our trip. Then I get the agent who clearly lacked any sense of empathy who was quite intent to be slow and non solution oriented with our needs. She, The representative via text for roadside service was absolutely horrible. She was rude and dismissive of our need to keep going towards our destination only 200 miles from where the truck broke down. I was then called by UHaul and this lady was a gem. She offered to put us in a hotel until a tow truck provider could be located. We declined, but her gesture was appreciated. She also stepped in and removed the agent via text from our correspondence to reduce my stress from her tone and shenanigans. However, 3 hours later the tow truck arrived and we would resume our journey. That tow truck driver, from Patriot Towing and Recovery was AMAZING! He was kind, responsive, knowledgeable, fast and helpful. You should send more business his way! After all this chaos, we didn't arrive to our destination until 4:30 am. We didn't get but only 3 hours of sleep before having to meet our new landlord to get our keys. Due to the broken truck, we lost a deposit with one company and had to pay more money for moving labor another day that was unexpected. UHaul called me on Thursday to arrange the final tow of the broken truck and informed me that he changed the drop off location to my UHaul storage location and that he spoke to someone about the car transport being dropped there as well. However, Friday afternoon, I get notified by UHaul that my rental is late and to contact the original return location to make arrangements to extend the rental. When I called the location on Kathryn Ave, the representative was kind and looked up the roadside assistance claim # I gave her and she said she would take it from there and would call the UHaul storage location to have them close out the ticket. I haven't heard anything from UHaul since. No follow up call to address the fiasco. No close out invoice. Nothing. The truck breaking down in the middle of a mere 600 mile trip should have never happened had the rental location did their job. I expect a call from UHaul to o close this matter.Carole W.

So the guy at U-Haul who helped me deserves a promotion and a raise. The regional U-Haul representative for this area should be fired. They were supposed to call me about the reservation I made and they did not. When I called corporate U-Haul they refused to help me. I had to drive around and find my own truck. There was a truck less than a mile from me that U-Haul representatives couldn't find.I think your district manager refused to do their jobs. Why couldn't they find a truck in mcallen when I found one? You'll need to delete your whole online website. The 50 $guarantee is a loss leading scam. According to yawls contract you didn't call me and you owe me 50 $. The whole truck rental online portal where you claim you have trucks and stuff available and you claim a reservations been made and you claim you will call us is a SCAM.If your regional managers can't be bothered to do their jobs, can't be bothered to call their customers, they should be fired. All they had to do was find a truck that was less than a mile away from me to help me. I made a reservation with you guys and you refused to help me. Uhaul corporate: y'all are a bunch of monsters. So like I said, the nice kid at this location who helped me deserves a promotion and a raise. He did what your district manager refused to do which was find a truck and trailer I had already reserved near me. Not near where y'all wanted to be dicks and send me, but near my actual location. It's not rocket science. I especially liked it when your regional manager to try to force me to go to Brownsville after i refused the reservation change to Brownsville. If y'all couldn't keep the reservation, y'all were supposed to work with me to make the reservation right. Your regional representative was supposed to call me and they did not. When I called them they refused to do their job. I would like someone with U-Haul corporate to contact me so I can make a discrimination complaint.Terrence P.

The total Charge was different, I did not receive a full gas tank and you charge this, I did not received the total of blankets that I request. I'm not feel happy with the charges at the end because they are not clear for me according with the initial request!!!Karim C.

Get rid of the lazy, cocky, smart mouth at the front. Dude was annoyingly rude and unhelpful. Had to have the women at the next location to set up a reservation and tell me that he is known for being like that. UHaul should really look in to limiting their equipment to this place. Even when I went back to pickup the equiptment with a reservation he was a d*ck. If I didn't really need that covered trailer, I would have gone with someone else. If you can avoid this place, I would, like the plague.Wade R.

The uhaul I was given did not have A/C. I tried to call uhaul on 3 different occasions to speak to someone and I was on hold for more than 30 min even when the automated recording said the wait time was 5 min. I had to make a 2,5 hr drive in over 100 degree weather with no ac.Lorrie L.

This is the SECOND time I have been charged by this location for equipment that was not provided, or used. This time I even called uhaul the day before returning the equipment in order to not be charged. In BOTH cases I disputed the charges via the mobile return, and in BOTH cases my charge was processed without calling me first. This is best case scenario complete apathy, worst case scenario fraud and theft. I will be contacting the BBB.Matthew K.

The place was closed when we went to pick up the trailer even though their store hours said they should be open. I ordered a dolly and did not get it...went back and they were closed for lunch so I will Wasn't able to get it. When I turned in the trailer they charged me for the dollyI never got. I spoke to the original person and he said he would credit me for it but still have not seen the credit.Sherri R.

I did notice that while breaking on the loaned van there was a bit of squeakiness and a bit of roughness; I believe it is normal since the van is parked for long periods of time, but its just something I wanted to comment about.
