Herbert WMajor concerns with the downtown lake Charles Uhual location. Not this location!!! Downtown lake Charles Uhual Personell was not there. They had a sign on the door that said closed for almost one week when I arrived on Friday with a confirmed drop through the local scheduling office also no where to turn around giant Uhual truck and car trailer . Unprofessional unfriendly staff. I as told I would need to download an app and get gate code access which was not available. After waiting several minutes I decided to leave and drop at 211 sale street that actuality had staff present on site . Downtown lake Charles Uhual should be reviewed for questionable service .

Maryann MKept my stuff in this storage for 1 year, while i had an assignment overseas. Set autopayment with them and while i was outside the Country everything went smooth. At my return i collected my belongings and close the contract. Facility is clean, accessible 24/7 and the employee are very kind and professional. Couldn't expect a better experience. zero hassle.

Rosalind BThe customer who used the equipment before me abused their terms of agreement and as a result left the moving van dirty and on an empty tank of gas. The check in process on the app wasn't clear and I made the mistake of putting the tank of gas on 1/4 of a tank instead of empty and got charged the full amount plus cost of gas itself. It is being made right and I'm supposed to get a $40 credit in the days to come but it was a bit confusing to me at first because I wasn't in the frame of mind to read over every bit of detail. My fault of course but the experience was good and as expected overall.

karen pThe man was very very rude would not give his name or a break down of my charges we asked for a 10ft truck and got stuck with a 15ft without knowing. I didn't understand charges and he didn't want to explain the charges instead he got loud a hollered. Very very very rude & unexceptional I would not recommend anyone to go to private uhaul on sale road!
ALEXANDER GI hauled a car to/from central Kansas. I was very pleased with how the trailer pulled and the trailer brakes were set up perfectly.

Darian BA truck should never be rented with less than half a tank. Mine only had 1/4. And I turned it in with twice that amount. Should have been reimbursed for fuel.

BART GMy truck was there, no appliance dolly and no dozen blankets, only three. Was asked where could I go and get the things I had made on my reservation 2 weeks previously! Was told to go over to the other store about 10 miles out of the way and they SHOULD have what I needed! Staff person, young and no customer skills!

GENA CPick up was easy and site had friendly staff. My complaints are towards the U-Haul phone application check-in process. It took over half an hour to check-in because the uhaul web browser constantly lost connection to its server. I had to go through the steps nearly a dozen times before I was able to make it through the entire check in process without the web page crashing. Also, I paid for 2 dollys and padded blankets. These items were not included with the truck. I called customer service and they stated that if I wanted those items then I would have had to pick up the truck during office hours, not after hours. This information would have been helpful before I spent the money. They said they would remove the charges and make a note on the transaction so that the drop off location would not be expecting these additional items. Neither of these actions were done, the operator did not even ask my name or for any info to refund. She simply just hung up.

I had a 5x5 unit but is was enough room for my things more than enough i mainly had boxes and trash bag of stuff but is was very well secured of course i purchase a lil insurance incase anything was to happen the staff is very friendly i had know indications and complications with them st all. They have a secure gate to go through with your code as well. Thank you so much for your service if i had to do it again i would chews you'll and recommend you to my friends and family.KB.
kimberly b | Expérience généraleThe location I picked the truck up was fine. Seemed like I nice establishment. However my truck pickup time changed three times as well as locations. This caused several timing issues that I had to change. I reserved 36 moving pads. However none were available. I am thankful there are other rental companies available. I will probably stay away from u-haul for a while.
SHANNON BVehicle wasn't terribly dirty. Dash could have been wiped. Looked like drinks had been spilled making it a sticky, gooey mess. I would pay extra for cruise control. Foot got very tired after eight hours.

Lynn L | Expérience généraleThe gas was not in the same place what was in the paperwork which was stated that it was on full and it was not I took a picture of the gas needle when I got in it brought it back after business hours and the next day was charged for the gas that was not accurate 😤

TEAIJUANA AOur experience was generally very good. We moved out because of the flooding. We appreciated being called that there was a potential that our unit had flooded and when we returned from out of town we found that it had, indeed, flooded. It is not your fault that it did but we cannot take that chance again. We did appreciate the dumpster to throw away ruined items. As to whether or not I would recommend your storage unit I would have to do so with reservation due to the flooding. All other aspects were positive though.
JIM J | Expérience généraleWe were lucky enough to find a replacement truck at this location at the last minute. The gentleman in charge was very courteous and straight forward. Pickup was easy and convenient. U-haul corporation offered NO assistance in replacing a broken truck at our original location. We were passed from one number to another for three hours. No one ever answered the phone. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Thank god for the local independent dealer. Will think twice before using corporate u-haul again.
Gary PMain issue was the truck was 26 feet not 20 feet like I ordered. That was a lot of truck for me to handle. But I did get the hang of it.
