Terrible, they still charge you for a lot more even after you're finished dropping off the rental. It's cheap to pick up but they hit you with all this BS when you return the truck.

I had problems extending the reservation on the mobile app. I used the chat platform which allowed me to extend my time which worked fine.
Rainer NI have used UHaul for some 45 years and yesterday's rental experience was SO BAD I may not use UHaul again. TERRIBLE app experience. TERRIBLE online experience. The van was FILTHY, STICKY inside. Had not been cleaned for MONTHS & MONTHS. The only saving grace were the two (2) telephone customer staff who assisted with pick up and return. Bruce Senator

Roger AThe drop-off location was on Cherry, but the distance to the drop off put me over the mileage. I wish I could have selected the drop off location when the reservation was created to visualize it on a map. Possibly another location was closer to the apartment, but was not able to see those options. It was only 16 miles, but still it amounted to $16 at drop off. Maybe there was a different drop off within Long Beach, say 5 miles from the destination. Could have saved myself some money.

BERBARDINO AThe tank was on empty when I picked up the vehicle I put gas and returned it with half a 4th of fuel still and was charged 70 dollars extra for fuel after vehicle was returned.
Rudy MI reserved a truck five days in advance, and when I arrived in individual named, Danny was opening the store late and was extremely antagonistic toward me. All I did was tell him I have a 9 o'clock truck reservation and he antagonistically griped that he " needs to get the trucks all parked before he can rent then out". When we went inside, he took my name and informed me that my truck is not there. Then I asked him if there's another truck, and he said " I don't got no trucks at all right now". I asked him well what are we going to do about this? He then accuses me of having an attitude with him. I had to call the customer customer service line to receive assistance and find a truck. Danny should have been sufficiently trained in customer service to know that he should have assisted me with that. I would've been fine driving to another location to pick up the truck, but he provided no effort at all to try and help me.
Eric SA customer should never have an empty gas level upon pickup. Luckily my destination was 2,9mi one way. And with their gas price,$20 only gave me 4 gal and the fuel went to 1/8 of a tank not even a quarter tank. Other than that it was a seamless experience. Thanks

Martin VBeing a Sunday, there was no U-Haul agent to receive the return of the trailer. Had to park the trailer next to other U-Haul rental equipment. Had no way to secure the trailer, other than to take pictures of the trailer. Found out after the fact, that the photos taken could not be uploaded unless you were using the U-Haul Mobile app.

Martha VThe vehicle had numerous maintenance issues. The low tire pressure light was on so I had to locate a gas station so that I could use their tire air service. The tire had extremely low tire pressure. The service light came on for vehicle traction as well as stability. This concerned me as to whether the truck was safe to drive. Usually I dont have to put gas in the vehicle since you really just want to go but the gas gage was at a quarter of a tank. The gentleman who helped me was cordial and did show me how to open the slide door. So he was fine but wonder if these trucks are safe to drive.
Francisco GPick up took 20 minutes and counted towards my reservation time. U haul app kept erroring due to location service so I had to use the website. Owner does not speak English too well so difficult to get in person help.

Walter Fthe whole e-process was awful. There needs to be better code written for the process. Like having all the photos uploaded at once, allowing people to see the code for the lock more than once, not having people have to wait 30+ minutes for a phone call while the e-process is claimed to be "quick". I'll never use uhaul again, terrible experience.
Dennis WYour per day rental charge is in line with your competition, but your mileage rate is 10 to 12 cents higher per mile. I chose U-Haul because of the lower deck height. For a short distance move ,mileage rates are not a consideration. For long distance moves, it almost made me choose someone else.

RAYMOND SI drove the truck 43 miles and put in 3,5 gals of gas to cover the distance I drove and still was charged for fuel for 3 gals. I would like a refund for the fuel

Douglas RHorrible! I've used Uhaul all my life but this time they were the worst. They rescheduled on me 3 times & ended up 1 hour late. I had to pay movers an extra 150$ for that hour and no one cares about it. I'm left paying the bill. I even called them 4 times in advance to ensure it was setup properly. Manager calls and leaves a useless voicemail that they don't reimburse. Well then don't charge me your fee if I ended up paying substantially more. What a joke. Never again.

Cathy CYou should not be renting trucks that are completely empty of gas. I had to fill up before I could even leave the parking lot. And to make matters worse, there was a maintenance guy working on the pumps who was a complete asshole and yelled at me and threatened me for no reason. That dude is a menace to society and should not be allowed on your property.

Keri PThe Santa Ana gas station location was fine, but I booked the pick up in Costs Mesa, which is a location that is much easier to access. My wife was recently discharged from the hospital, and I had transportation to Costa Mesa set up that was not possible to Santa Ana (I can ride my bike to Costa Mesa). I was disappointed about the pick up being moved 24 hours prior to pick up. That said, the gentleman at the pick up was efficient and very professional.
