Would have appreciated a heads up about self check-in... the location was closed and I had no idea what to do. Waited on hold with Uhual 1800 number for over an hour and they told me it was a self check-in reservation... Then I had to download the app which was slow and glitchy. The vehicles are parked on a narrow road with heavy traffic. It is difficult to inspect the vehicle / take pictures parked there with the passing traffic, it is very dangerous. Plus it's a ten mjj oh nite walk from the given address. The process of verification was time consuming and frustrating.Toby G.
You can charge either mileage OR gas. I was not happy to have to pay $0,64 per km and have to fill up with gas before returning the vehicle. That seems like double-dipping to me. But the agent was really nice--very helpful.Tim H.
I was given two different locations to go too. The location by email on the link was wrong. Both locations were closed. By chance, someone was in the second location. The app and website could be improved - It was not clear that I would received location instructions far along into the check-in process. I spent a lot of time looking for the truck first, and it was far away from the address of the distributor - I was given less equipment than I requested, but was not notified that they would give me less. This was inconvenient and confusing on the day of. - overall, the layout / site architecture of the web app does not match the instruction videos, which was confusing. I spent a lot of time looking for the 'check-in / rent a truck button' the night before in preparation of my move - not knowing that it was not visible until an hour before. It's better that the button be present but greyed out if not accessible from a user perspective. - the app needs work overallWard B.

The location and the lady there was great. The Uhaul online check-in is stupid. It makes you take so many photos, the person on the other end I swear is bored. (That person needs to verify you) Do yourself a favour and don't check self check in, have the owner of the store help you. She was extremely helpful. The other stupid thing when you reserve online it says no one can check you in till noon, we'll she is there manning her store.Jennifer T.

Customer service is the worst. Pickup location is also bad. No dedicated parking for the uhauls and blames customers for not parking in the exact location.RAY W.
Manager said that i fill to the line indicated and what the level was when the truck was received and if i went over i would be refunded the extra amount. Did not receive refund on nearly 100$ of gas. Also ordered furniture covers, several weeks prior to pick up, and there were none delivered. Ridiculous considering the advanced reservationpaul L.

Being my first time with a U-haul, I found it a quite disorganized. First my pick up was delayed 10 min due to system startup delay (which happens) but no extension of my rent period was offered. Second, it snowed a lot the ray before and the van was not parked close to the store. The representative gave me incorrect directions on how to find it (pointing me to the incorrect street and not mentioning the van did not have any indication of being a U-hal one, it was just a regular white painted one), so it took me around 20 minutes to find it. Third, the van was dirty inside (not because of the snow but the panels and wheel).Denis C.

It is a little inconspicuous so I did a preemptive stop at the store to make sure that it was the right place. It's refreshing to know that you're not standing in line at all car rental place and instead it's kind of what seems like a family run type place. The booking process was very very frustrating. Uhaul changed my booking time without a message to notify me. When I called Uhaul they didn't give me a clear explaination why I was bumped to a later time. I checked the website and confirmed it's the same location as I booked. But when I showed up they told me I was rebooked to another location. It added 2 hours to my moving schedule. And I had to extend it for a few hours and potentially pay more for this poor communication of changes.XIN W.

Windshield wiper fluid pump broken, doesn't squirt...imagine driving 100km/hr on highway with no fluid to wash away dirt. Battery died twice. Worst of all, once I reached moving location, opened the back and they had forgotten the dolly which I had reserved. Female owner/staff was pleasant, male owner/staff had so much attitude from the moment I walked in like I owed him money...lol avoid this location.Jin L.

Vehicle interior was dirty with mud, I was been told due to rain Vehicle is dirty inside we are sorry for the inconvenience, But I didn't expect that from a well known company like uhal, this is Covid-19 time. The staffs at the counter was courteous and polite, welcoming. Overall my ride went well , no issues with the vehicle, reasonable price, I was happy with my overall experience with uhal, expect the interior cleanliness. Hope uhal will look into this. The parking site for the van was Wolfe St in Vancouver. I was almost hit by a car picking up the van and again when I was returning it. Its a very narrow street and the van was parked right on a corner. Somebody is going to get killed picking up and dropping off a vehicle at this location. This is no bullshit, it dangerous. - I was very appreciative of the staff at Oak Dollar Plus! The 2 women were friendly and very clear in their communication; they also went out of their way to wait for me to finish my return process (even at the end of their work day), loaned me their broom after I returned, and were patient with me being a bit flustered in my rush to be on time. I felt helped and supported, and I'd recommend this location just for this service. - I'll note that the truck was actually dirty inside (sand in the front, leaves and dirt in the back) but it was of no issue to us. - I found the parking awkward, both in not knowing where to park upon return (I forgot to ask, and wasn't told), and in it being quite difficult to find on a busy Saturday afternoon. It may be a problem for all locations, and there may be no resolution; I would still advise any future renters to allot extra time for a less stressful pick up and return, especially if toting any extra equipment.Judith C.
My check in experiences with UHaul has never been smooth. There has always been an issue with getting my moving truck. The last time I used UHaul the truck I had reserved was not available. This time the time and location of the truck pick up were confused. These inconveniences make my already stressful moving day even more stressful. Everything was fine, but a few things I found annoying. 1. I tried to phone the store once prior to renting, and several times after I had the vehicle. All within stated open times. All were minor reasons or clarifications. Each time the phone rang, & rang - no answer, no voicemail! Very frustrating for a customer. 2. A little more clarification about the vehicles - example, every time you open the driver door you unlock every door! You must lock every single door from the outside every time you leave the vehicle- for security of the contents. There does not appear to be anyway to lock the vehicle door from the drivers area. 3. Where the vehicles are stored is several blocks away from the store- up hill! And when I returned the vehicle it was pitch black, very little lighting and a little bit scary.STEVEN T.

I got a furniture dolly with a hole in the middle and no handle. It was hard to roll and heavy to pick up It was useless and we wanted a L shape dolly with long part at bottom but they didn't have any.sapna C.
I was nervous at first after seeing some of the negative reviews here (and pretty much at all other locations nearby) - however, I had a smooth, painless experience today! The lady at front was friendly, kind, and quick/efficient. The truck was parked at the back lot, and we were able to park our car around the neighborhood for free during the whole duration of our move. It was really difficult to fill out the online check out form. It took my friend and I an hour to get the page where you take the pictures and log the mileage and gas to load properly. It was also extremely difficult to make an account, it kept shutting us out. And nobody answered customer service. The app also didn't work very well on either of our phones. Why don't you have it that the truck is rented out with a full take of gas. Your customer experience is lacking because you get a truck with 1/4 tank. The best pat is when you return it with a 1/4 tank and they charge you money for fuel. Needless to say, I'll stick with Home Depot rentals.Mark O.

The store employee was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The rental truck was on site and ready for pick up however the fuel gage was way below what they indicated it was suppose to be at. It was so low of fuel i felt i needed to get to the gas station for gas before I got to my pick up site for moving. I brought it back with well over the amount that was required . The hours of operation aren't inadequate for a city that is busy and overpopulated. The printer wasn't working so I was sent my "paperwork" through email, even though I had told them my phone was dying.
