There was a hole in the gas fuel line on the truck. So any gas that went in from the pump fell straight to the ground. I couldn't get roadside assistance so i had to use duct tape to plug the hole. I then had to pay double overtime for my movers to unload on 2nd location because i was 3 hours late.

Terrible is an understatement. For your next customer, don't have the gas tank on “E” literally empty. Driving into rush hour traffic with zero gas in a huge vehicle that is unfamiliar while looking for a gas station is a horrible and stressful way to start a move. Massive fail, and totally disrespectful to the customer, and service you provide. Not to mention, you had search for the vehicle behind a strip mall, unknowingly, then walk back to the other side of the strip mall to get the key, then walk back to the opposite end of the strip mall to go back to the vehicle.

0/5 Stars Horrible experience The cargo van was in rough shape as the back of the van had some markings not pictures. Additionally there was a part hanging from the underside of the vehicle. Upon opening the van it smelled like cigarettes and body odor and when I attempted to reverse out of the parking spot the back up camera did not work. Once at the pickup location, I opened the right sided cargo door to discover the bracketing on the bottom of the van had been mishandled and was badly bent out of shape. Additionally the locking mechanism on the door was broken and had clearly been tampered with, as there was black plastic residue, grease, and dirt all inside it, causing the door to not close properly. Overall this van was in complete disrepair and the experience as a whole was forgettable to say the least. This might be the final time I use Uhaul, on account this experience was so poor.

Manager was a bit rude when I showed up to pick up the vehicle. He said because i had signed up to use the app to pick it up but instead came during business hours I was giving him more work to do (he actually said that). He then spent 2min on the computer and then said ok your done. I hope the effort didn't hurt him too much.

Very Poor customer service. I was the only customer in the store and your rep refused to return my vehicle, saying he had to process the overnight returns first. He also said there would be no hard copy receipt. If this is how UHaul intends to treat me in the future, I WILL NOT be renting from UHaul again.

The website and the mobile app did not work for me. So I paid more than I had to because your system for returning the truck is flawed. You should extend your hours if possible because moving is a stressful time and as a large moving company you have the resources to help your customers.

This isn't a U-Haul-owned location. Although we ordered furniture blankets and a dolly, we didn't get either. Apparent;y U-Haul doesn't bother to re-stock these kind of supplies on a regular basis to locations they don't own.

People weren't as friendly as they could be. Overall the convenience of the location and the best price billing made it worthwhile. Sebastopol location was much friendlier but had fewer options for equipment.

Used your mobile share, but it still required me to go into the office because there were no keys. The office was closed and when the employee finally showed up he was extremely rude as if it was my fault he was late to work. Will not use U-Haul. I was late to pick up my items.

They were a little terse. And they didn't tell us where the uhaul was. Usually it's in the back of the building but it was in the front. They didn't tell me that. I had to ask where it was.

Representative was flighty and left the counter unattended multiple times while trying to get service. Truck was in disrepair, the hose from the gas funnel to the tank was disconnected, spilled gas all over the gas station and couldn't fill up. When reporting the incident to make sure I wouldn't be charged for the condition, had to wait over 45 minutes to reach customer service, eventually hung up. Overall: poor employees, poor vehicle, poor customer service, and the user experience from the web portal was not trivial or convenient.

Severely improve on customer service. Attendant was rude, short tempered, and not helpful. Told us to just go to the back and look for the truck. Didn't guide us or tell us what to look for. Felt like we were a burden and unwelcome.

Person on the counter was not welcoming. Missing blankets and dolly that I booked. When dropping the keys a 2pm the store was closed i dropped the keys and forgot and to checkout on the app. Waited 1hour until store reopen. App didn't work to upload dashboard. Horrible experience.

The fuel line to the truck I picked up had been cut. I did not realize this until I took it to a gas station fill up the tank and the gas spilled straight through the trunk to the cement below. I then had to drive the truck to the nearest Uhaul service center to have it fixed

Please wait for a representative to respond. 8/3/2021 1:54 PM EST Dustin walsh: I had a rental this past Saturday out of one of the San Francisco locations. When I arrived for my mobile pick up my vehicle is not ready. I was told that somebody would contact me within the next couple days to deal with this issue and not only have I not had anybody reach out to me, I received my finalize bill today in my email. 8/3/2021 1:57 PM EST Dustin walsh: Every time I have tried to reach out to somebody at the U-Haul customer service phone number it has been over an hour wait time just for me 8/3/2021 1:59 PM EST Dustin walsh: just for me to be disconnected 8/3/2021 1:59 PM EST Dustin walsh: These practices are completely unfair and dishonest, because I had gone inside I was not presented in the contract or anything stating what the fuel level would be and could not find anything posted online until I went to return the truck 8/3/2021 2:02 PM EST Dustin walsh: Now I sit here on the chat service as that was the way you recommend getting a hold of somebody while waiting on hold on the phone and I find myself talking to myself 8/3/2021 2:03 PM EST Dustin walsh: 21mins, so much for the faster options 8/3/2021 2:16 PM EST Dustin walsh: 35mins!!!! 8/3/2021 2:31 PM EST Dustin walsh: Wow customer service 8/3/2021 3:13 PM EST I have also placed many calls to customer service just to be disconnected after 30mins which was the least I had waited, most being over 75mins. I selected to pick up my mobile rental at Park Merced in SF and to drop it off in San Jose. When I went to pick up my rental the guy told me that they assigned me the wrong truck as I was going 1 way and that I needed to bring the truck back to the same store to return it that day. I drove the truck back to SF around 9:30 PM and they closed at 4. There was no way for me to complete my mobile return since i was not at the location I originally selected. I locked the truck and drop the keys and drove back to San Jose. The next morning I discovered that the return still was not completed, i spent all afternoon calling the U-Haul store for no one to answer or go straight to some guy's voicemail that is full. I waited on hold with customer service for 45 minutes only to explain my situation to a guy and immediately have him put me back on hold (without telling me) for another 1 and a half. Finally the gentleman I spoke to tried to help me, but because the U-Haul location closes every day at 4 there was nothing he could do. Finally on day 3 I receive a bill from U-Haul as they finally completed my return only to discover that i was being charged 1,59/mile when I was quoted 0,4/mile so I had to call customer service back again to complain. I was told that because I returned the vehicle back to the original location I was charged for in-town rental and that is more expensive. I had to explain to the lady what happened and asked that they value the quote I was originally given. I am now awaiting a dispute. The U-Haul location at Park Merced is terrible, customer service has been trying to help which I appreciate but overall I wish I hadn't even gone with U-haul in the first place. This experience has been the worst. 0/10 would not recommend to anyone.

U-Haul App sucks; it can never filter which locations are open or closed upon reservation. Location of reservation more times than not is either closed or not having the equipment requested/ booked and it's a last-minute scramble select a different location to make the reservation work as planned. Accessories like blankets, pads, etc. are also hit or miss if they are available at the location upon renting them on the app. I will seek another service next time, as this is the fourth time I've had a poor experience with U-Haul

Two issues. (1) The location was supposed to stay open to 4 and there was a couple there at 3 to pick up a truck and the business was closed and locked. (2) I believe this location purposefully fills the gas tank up to only half way. So when returning the truck and you put gas In it's impossible to get the truck to half a tank. I put in a extra quarter of a tank and I believe this is a tactic by this location to squeeze free gas out of customers.

I tried changing my drop off location and was told I couldn't - but the couple next to me was being helped by another employee and they were able to drop theirs off in LA. Also, when I arrived, I was told that they didn't have the dollies nor furniture blankets I had originally ordered.

There were plenty of trucks available but, no blankets, no hand carts, dolly's or four wheelers. You can't be a company that specializes in all your moving needs and not have any moving needs.

This was my first experience with the uhaul mobile pick up & return. Overall the experience was good and I would use it again. It wasn't made clear to me that I would need a passport or that someone would need to answer my alternate phone number to complete the pick up. The first van I was assigned had its catalytic converter stolen so I had to deal with that as well. This wasted about 40 minutes of my time. The person at the counter was helpful.

Out of office hours arrival! Luckily App worked, however the shopping center where the UHAUL lot is located is very scary and dog people we're luring around the fleet's parked cars, pretending to use a laundraumat! Beware!

Friendly service, but the app was confusing. Furthermore, it only allowed one photo to be uploaded for each section of the vehicle (i.e., if there is damage on two spots one side of the vehicle, I could only upload a photo of one area).

Booked a Uhaul for Bryant street San Francisco and they called the day before that I had to go to cambon drive which was a major inconvenience and cost!

This has been the absolutely worst experience. They gave me a van without checking the going out mileage and now claim I drove 253 miles when I drove 47 miles. Additionally, I returned the vehicle on time but for some reason I'm being charged for an extra day!

I put on there that I needed the truck for 6 hours but I thought the timer didn't start until I picked up the truck so it's kind of messed up that I lost 2 hours right off the back cuz I picked it up at 10am. so I figured I'd have until 4 p.m. no! I only had till 2pm. and I asked for an appliance dolly to be in the truck. I needed it for moving equipment and you didn't put that in there. I barely had half a tank of gas! Pause for the dolly spent a lot of time on the phone and in the end get transferred around and then get hung up on and had to start that process all over again it is not good wasted a lot of time.
