The cab interior floor was covered in potato chip crumbs when I rented the truck. I didn't have time or the means to vacuum/clean the floor. The location where I dropped off the truck wasn't open. They don't start work until 11:00 a.m. Later the same day (1 FEB 2024) I received an email advising I was charged $10 for the mess. No big deal, just FYI.

My bill was 163 upon singing .. when I returned the truck it jumped to 275 !!!!! Terrible!! Could have been the guy at pawn daddies in muscle shoals but he said it was you guys. Absolutely pathetic

Truck was dirty windows were so dirty you could barely see out them. Truck had not been serviced low tire pressure lite was on other service lights were on the dash couldn't get pictures of mileage because of the service lights that were on.

As per our conversation on the 30 of SEP at 14:20. Brian Roberts of Pawn Daddy in Muscle Shoals, Alabama was supposed to be open at 10:00 when I tried to turn in my rental. I was 15 Minutes prior and stayed until 15 after. Knocked on every door and walked around back no one to be found. I put the keys in the drop box. We had appointments to get water, power and gas turned on in our new residence. My wife called him back a couple of hours later (Brian) to make sure everything was okay. It was on speaker. He was very rude and condescending to my wife. Made very rude comments about the back and cab of the vehicle not being very clean to my wife and since she rented the vehicle he was not aware I was involved. (Not one word about the fuel). He went on to say he had a customer waiting on it and would have to clean the vehicle himself and charge HER for it. Once we finished our appointments we drove back to his place of business. We waited as he was helping another customer loudly complaining about stupid ass people who do not clean their vehicles and so forth. I calmly waited my turn and informed him who I was. I told him what I was there to discuss the conversation he had with my wife on the phone… (I was trained in interrogation techniques). He immediately would not meet my eyes looking first down to the left and then the right clear signs on deception to the trained observer. I told him the bed was dirty when I picked it up as was the cab. I had actually cleaned the cab prior to leaving Clarksville, TN. He then said he found some dog fur on the seat. I said okay I will be happy to clean that give me some paper towels and some spray. He then said I already did it I have a person here that needs it. (Odd since I had turned it in early and had actually had it reserved through the next day) I asked where is the renter. He again would not meet my eyes before he replied they are on their way to get it. I said so it was not going right out the door a couple hours earlier? Again he would not meet my eyes going to his place before replying. If you have and issue call U-Haul he told. I said I will as I started for the door that I intended to get to the bottom of it as he was lying. He said something else hard to make out so I paused and looked at him and he had his hand below the counter glaring at me. He again said call U-Haul and mumbled under his breath still grasping something either on his belt or under the counter that I assumed to be a firearm. He then said whatever you say to them then you can say to me in a very loud and clear voice while still fumbling behind the counter obviously trying to intimidate me. As per his request I told him what I thought of him and walked out. I then called U-Haul Customer Service. (Contract #12034051). I got bounced around for over an hour and a half. I asked repeatedly to speak with someone that could help me. I was told his boss was an Area Manager called Keith Blue. I told the lady to have him call me and she said she would deliver the message. The next day no call. I called back and after another hour on the phone I was told he was on vacation. I asked who was covering down for him as I used to be a DM and AM for a large retail chain after I retired from the military. It was then I realized I was getting the same run around my old company used to do with upset customers. Just keep them bouncing around until they gave up in frustration. I was finally told Jeremiah Brown another FM. Guess what no call. I called again and turns out he was on vacation. Then later another rep told me he was actually not the one I needed to talk to. Now very upset I wanted to speak to anyone that could help me. I finally got another FM named Joy who said she was with corporate. I informed her that I wanted to speak to someone who could actually help me. She then said thanks and hung up! I called again and got the name Chuck Newell who was the Marketing President. I called his office and left a message on 30 SEP after hours with a message I needed to speak with him. When I did not receive a call back I called him around 1300 the next day 31 SEP. I go his secretary who informed me he was out of the office. She asked if I could help and I told her what was going on. She said well the two people they gave you are not the people who should have been talking as their positions were not even right. I asked her if the customer service reps actually knew what they are doing? I then told her to have Chuck call me as soon as possible as the owner (Brian Roberts) had now after the fact and never had mentioned it before added a fuel charge to the turn in. I was worried about what else he might add in retribution. I am a seven time combat VET with 26 years of Army Service to this country. I AM UTTERLY disgusted and appalled at such treatment and completely dumbfounded such a prestigious company such as U-Haul would allow such people to represent and work for them. REST ASSURED this will not stand as I am just now getting into this and have not even began to dig into this. I have been asking around local and reading reviews online. This guy is a crook and has been getting away with this for some time if I had to guess. Now I expect something get done and I mean done FAST! He set my return at 5 pm although it was 5:15 and not even a 30 minute grace which is basically what I needed because if traffic. Quick to add a second day. Will not use the location in life again.

Recommend calling from a Uhaul designated number. The dealer at Pawn Daddy's tried to call me twice on the day we rented the truck for the day. My wife and I started very early in preparation to close on the sell of our house at 3 PM. Had to pull items from multiple locations to load the truck, have the house cleaned and make the closing. Needless to say we were busy and did not answer phone calls unless they were family members or friends. I make it a habit not to answer call from numbers and names I do not recognize. If it was a business number from Uhaul I would have answered a call. I did not check my emails or text during the time either. Did not have time to spare. After our closing, we had to drive to storage and unload storage items from the truck and drive over to Muscle Shoals to unload the balance of the truck. While driving the Shoals the pawn daddy dealer called my wife and questioned why he never heard back from me and said when you call Uhaul don't you expect Uhaul to answer. The way he handle this situation upset my wife abd in turn upset me. We were both extremely tired and worn out from all the activity associated with moving. He said all he was trying to do is get an approximate time we would be returning the truck because the Shoals area had no 15' trucks in the area. In my mind he didn't have any regard for what he had gone through that day. The last truck we rented on the 26th was returned the night before it was due and we had planned to return the 30th the same way eventhough our contract said our return time was 10:30 AM on the 31st. Due partly to the above issue and the issues with fuel gauge inaccuracies, we will not be using Hhaul in the future.

I had placed my order for (4) medium boxes and (4) large boxes and 1/2 dozen furniture clothes. When I got there he had me down for a utility dolly and 1/2 dozen furniture clothes. I thought I had already paid on line but he said that I hadn't, so I would have to do another separate order and pay for the boxes I wanted at his store bc he said uhaul didn't have his bank info. Don't know what that was about and have so far not checked my credit card for charges to make sure that I haven't been double/over charged. Had too much going on and on a deadline, I mean I was moving!

The customer service was great couldn't have been any better. The trailer I rented on the other hand was not in good shape first I couldn't hardly get the door up it would go so far and stop them once I got it up it wouldn't stay the cable on the right side was broke. I had to find a piece of wood to prop it up and while we was loading it came down twice once on my back and next on my shoulder it definitely needs to be fixed before someone really gets hurt. I definitely wouldn't rent this trailer again.

I was having issues using the app to return the trailer. U Haul kept putting me on 3 times for 15 minutes each. I never got a receipt and the person from the place I returned the trailer never called me as I was told when I finally talked to someone. Not a good experience returning the trailer.

I received an email stating that the rental would be at the location we chose. When we got there, the place didn't have the rental. I never received an email stating that it would be at a different location. We called corporate, and they gave us the info on where the truck actually was. Better communication needed

Because of inclement weather, we were late picking up the UHaul and our reservation was canceled. It took quite a bit of time to get a representative on the phone and to get everything where we could pick up the truck. The truck we rented wasn't available and we had to rent a larger truck than what we wanted.
