My negative experience with your company was right at the front counter when I had to deal with an incredibly dismissive and impatient desk clerk at the Dunbar station in Vancouver. Even though I was very pleasant with him (at first), he was very short with me, snarky and treated me like I was a lesser person than him. We had a slight verbal altercation when I asked him to stop speaking to me the way he was. He became even more dismissive, denied his behavior and began snickering. It's unacceptable and if it wasn't for the fact that I had no choice but to rent that U-Haul off him, I wouldn't have given him a penny of my money. He was slightly more friendly when I dropped the truck off a few hours later; however, the damage was done. I know these feedback forms probably get read once and discarded, but it would be nice to have an apology from U-Haul for how I was treated by someone who is essentially representing your company. 403.991.3302 is my phone number and I will be curious to see if this is even followed up on. Did not choose this location to pick up from as it was a ways away from my house which required some additional planning and adjustments to an already hectic day Know this is not at all the locations fault but rather uhaulsJAMES M.
First off, my initial reservation I booked online was not available so I was switched to another location. When trying to get the key for the vehicle I was met with a rude customer service agent, whom also had a "back in 5 min sign" so 15 minutes later the service agent arrived and completed the transaction. As a first time rented I should have also been informed to fill up the truck with gas upon returning. There was some loud crashing noises from the cargo area when driving the truck. When I went to return the truck, I encountered another "back in 5 minute" sign. If I was informed of the need to fill up the tank I could have easily done so. And left upset for being charged for not filling up the tank to the arbitrary 7/8ish tank meter the truck was left to me. I will take any opportunity to discourage people from renting from uhaul in the future. Was a horrible renting experienceJonathan W.

The U haul was absolutely filthy. The customer service was good but considering that we are in COVID times, I had to disinfect the whole truck myself, wasting time I could have had to move. The cup holders were thick with grime and had stuff in them, the steering wheel and dashboard wiped off brown, and it just all felt very icky and unsanitary,Sean R.

The return key slot wasn't very secure. There's a liability issue here where once the key is returned, onus is no longer on the renter for damages. However, anyone with a rod or hanger could easily grab the key. It's also visible from the street.Mackenzie F.

Clean vehicles properly, according to Covid protocols. The used napkins in the driver's door-pocket and the dirty work gloves on the dashboard didn't give me confidence that the van had been sanitized at all. Negligent!Annette V.
The cargo-van was good and easy to drive. On-line preregistration was convenient. The shop (Photo Station) needs a new credit card machine, and the shop owner needs a friendlier attitude toward customers. But the equipment and convenient location were good. The mileage rate seems very high considering the driver fills the tank.John Roger H.

The mobile return did not work after attempting and re-attempting for over half hour. We returned keys and called the next day and were told the reservation was closed. We look at the invoice and we are now being charged for damages on the vehicle?? We have pictures that we took when we dropped it off and there are no damages. I have not had a bad rental experience until now and will not be renting from here again.Natasha S.
The person in your Dunbar office was incredibly rude, condescending and not in the least bit helpful. Never ever again would I use this service, he smartly asked if we were able to read numbers because we called when outside the store but were unsure if it was the right one,probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced.Gillian G.

I was cautious about selecting this location due to all of the negative Google reviews cautioning of rude workers and fuel scams, but I am pleased to say that I had a great experience at this location. I got my furniture dolly and pads quickly and was on my way in no time. Upon returning I was running late but the employee was understanding and didn't make an issue out of it at all, even though I was most certainly to blame. I just wanted to write the review to redeem this location and, and the very least, the employee who helped me with my rental.Daniel B.

The employee helping with the rental had an offensive attitude and was quite rude. We had trouble with the self pick-up due to an inability to check in with location services (on two different phones the location setting was turned on and the browser app permission was allowed but we got messages that it was unable to detect location). Whether this was a glitch or some extra security on our devices, the employee was very condescending with multiple comments about our inability to use out own phones and complaints about having to change the set-up to check out through the store (which took less than 5 minutes after 15 minutes of trying and confusion with his repeat comment to "just turn on location"). Also unnecessary trips back and forth from the side street parking to the store as he did not specify the cargo van we rented was just white with no uhaul marking - we were not expecting to attempt to pick up an unmarked van that could have been anyone's vehicle off the street. Again, with quite an unprofessional attitude as if this should have been obvious and we were disturbing him by clarifying. Overall the cargo van itself was good for our purpose and exactly as expected but we were very disappointed with the customer service at this location.Ranko V.

I don't like the online walk through system. The webpage didn't seem to work well from an apple cellphone. I understand that this is probably designed to speed up the process but was far slower. Also, looking for damage on a large truck on a small screen isn't the most sensible. Much preferred the old system of person walking out with you.Alexander Michae D.

THIS REVIEW SHOULD BE ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE!! Not about the pickup location! The location was ok! All process in the U-HAUL website was terrible!!!!!! The worst experience possible! Reasons: 1st, you should stop to push items to my cart! 2nd, the site lets me choose a car and options that are not available. Few minutes after my order was changed without asking me anything. 3rd, in the day, my order was changed to online pickup. I had to fill EVERYTHING again!! It's ridiculous!! 4th, this review it's not made to evaluate my experience. Otherwise, you have asked questions about all processes. This is not at all necessary because of all the instructional stickers but just to be sure, if the customer hasn't driven that type of vehicle before it would be nice do go over things like the parking brake release and headlights. The UHAUL website was not very transparent it appeared to me on that the tax was not included in the online payment. Once I got to Uhaul I did not have any room on my card anymore had to use debit for 142 $in taxes. BUT then got charged 125 $deposit because I used debit WHY? This seems like a punishment for using cash. I can appreciate the deposit is necessary under the current policies and procedures BUT to make matters worse for me when I returned the Uhaul I could not get 125 $back which is frustrating and now have to call customer service. I live with a disability and on fixed income. I have 4,90 $ left to my name and it makes me mad that I have to go this extra step. I also emailed Uhaul day before due back. I had a sick 22 year old cat. I requested two extra days ( 80 $) I was left a strongly worded message that it can not be authorized without the credit card. This was frustrating as my deposit could have payed for it but instead I had to pay an additional 170 $for the two extra days and unable to apply the 125 $deposit. Not cool and the software used by agents should support people who want to use debit which is cash to me and should not be punished for using cash in the form of a 125 $What was that for anyhow? I had already paid 1 202 $on my card. Not sure my comments will be noted or taken into account but I am most displeased at this business practice of charge a deposit for using a debit card.KIM J.

Vehicle very dirty on exterior, so difficult to do pre rental check for damage. Very carefully followed instructions for rental, returned the vehicle filled exactly to 7/8 full per documents. We were charged extra for fuel even though the tank meter matched the documents. Unfair practice and very poor customer service at this location. U-Haul representative was disorganized, rude and argumentative, accused us of entering false fuel tank reading, even though we had screenshot of pre rental showing tank level. This location is a very poor representative of U-Haul, we should be refunded the 8,23 $ fuel surcharge, outrageous and unfair business practice.Paul M.

This experienced caused me so much anxiety. I checked in and did everything I thought I was supposed to do, but when I got to the location I had to input so many things that I lost 45 minutes of my time. The owner of the store tried to help us, but it was still a waste of time. You should ask us to input all these images and proof of identity BEFORE the actual reservation. And, if you need us to use a passport as proof of our international drivers license, tell us beforehand. Had I not know, I would not have been able to use the UHaul. It honestly put me in quite a bad mood, and made me rush my move, when it should have been as relaxed as possible.Ashley B.
