Wen i went to pick up my pick-up truck the guy behind the counter did not even acknowledge me even though I was standing at the U-Haul window/counter. It took a cashier from the floor to come over and tell me that the service desk was closed (there was no sign posted with hours anywhere to be found) when I told her that I was there to pick up a truck. The guy who was putting away liquor bottles (he'd stopped a couple times to look up at me beforehand as if I was a nuisance to him) then slowly got up and asked what I needed. After rudely asking for ID I said that I had the reservation number if that would help although it's the only pick-up truck they have. It took almost long as long to pick up the truck a it was to reserve it the day before. If I did not have any other option at the time I would have gone elsewhere.RHONDA W.

We would like to have been able to pick up at a location closer to us. There was very little gas in the truck when picked up. Just enough to get to the gas station close by. The staff working at this location were good.Glenn Y.

First off marker lights were out all over this trailer, the kid who was operating the u haul center didn't seem very knowledgeable about the equipment nor did he properly secure it to my truck, upon my inspection of his work I picked the tongue of the trailer off the ball of my truck after he had supposedly secured it, he began to apologize repeatedly for it not being secured and I advised I would do it, he told me he couldn't do that so he then tried it again and said it was secured, by then I was done and just wanted to be away from that situation so I left the parking lot and pulled over and rechecked the connection, it was not properly secured. I then reset the connection and tightened down and retested and it was good, I stopped and checked tire pressure and pressure was low on 3 of the tires, I aired all tires adequately and and rechecked everything again. Needless to say I was able to transport my vehicle but I stopped way more times than I had to because I did not feel confident in the condition of the trailer and due to the lack of reassurance from the U-Haul place I picked it up at I will never use U- Haul again and will advise others to utilize another company.Daniel C.

The truck had a lot of dents and it smelled like smoke when we got in it. It survived the move, but was in need of some TLC. Nonetheless, it was ready for us and it got the job done.Michael Z.
This is about using the 800# to make my reservations. I needed to hire 2 men. The person helping me hooked me up with a mover who could not complete my move! It had to keep calling and being left on hold with Moving Help for 45 minutes the first time which used up my phone minutes. A friend came over later we were on hold over an hour! I got tired of listening to â€œhold messageâ€ and hung up!! So I called Funky Town movers directly. He couldn't confirm their being able to complete my move until I called a couple times the last time I had to be firm! I will never use MovingHelp.com again! Then I got a recommendation from the local UHaul of s moved! I did not need this stress during my move!!!!!Jerry B.

When removing the car off the trailer they refused to drive it off for me saying it would be a bunch of paperwork. I explained that I already got the insurance and he still refused. I had my drop off for the truck in Gurnee. They told me I had to change the drop off to that location. I explained that I would be leaving the truck in the parking lot overnight and coming and getting stuff. They made no notes in the system. My drop off was scheduled for 2pm Sunday. They started calling and texting me Saturday about trying to turn in early becaause rhey have to send it out. I got another call from a McHenry stire Sunday morning after I got another call from the Piggly Wiggly store at 930am. When the Piggly Wiggly store called they assumed that. I dropped off and did not leave a key. This was not the case and the bed even had a lock on it. After explaining this to the Mchenry guy on the phone. I drove back to the store with the truck to turn in the keys. The woman was immediately irate when I tried to tell her I just got back from waukegan with the truck. She started yelling at me and telling me no i didnt and i am lying to her she has been looking outside all morning. It was a very BIZZARRE and traumatic experience. I walked away from her to speak to a store manager. She was the only manager on site. I waited some time and after awhile I went over by her to make sure she was not tampering with the vehicle or something since I didnt have my reciept or anything yet. I do not think she should be a manager. She should be working with things not people.Nicole H.

The staff at the store where friendly and helpful. The truck was clean however doesn't appear to be well maintained. The brake light came on several times and the Brake lights went out when the brake light came on the panel. In addition the front end was Very loose when going down the road driving.Diane P.

Better staffing. The person running the service desk told me 9a was a good time to pick up today. I scheduled a reservation yesterday. When I went to pick up none of the staff was trained and we were told to wait till someone who knew how to handle the uhaul at 10a. If that was the case they should have told me yesterday. Also when returning the truck they tried to charge me 12 $for missing gas. I said no your not showed him the paperwork from when I got the truck and what the gas level was when I returned it. I would highly recommend relocating you haul to another place where staff is better trainedCandice O.
