Due to scheduling issues with agreed upon drop-off location I was sent here instead. Due to that the process was awkward and convoluted. Some of which may have been on the staffing, but much of the blame rests solely on U-Haul and the drop-off change and the very short informational window of such (just 1-1/2 hours prior to scheduled drop off). I wrote a complaint to U-Haul customer service explaining the circumstances of my less than ideal experience requesting a refund for the additional day I was charged due to the new drop off location not being within my daily route and the very short notice I was given to make necessary changes to my schedule in order to comply with the change in drop-off location. I have not yet heard back, but hope that I will soon. This is the first time out of many that I have had a bad experience with U-Haul.

Truck mileage didn't match the checkout. I had to inform to customer service reps several times and still was charged for excessive mileage that I had to go up there twice to get refunded. It was truly a waste of my time even though I tried to prevent the errors ahead of time by taking pictures and physically showing the customer representative that the mileage was wrong.

The customer service rep was horrible. She is causing uhaul to lose money. I walked in and she said she had absolutely nothing available, she was very rude. I went to my car, went to uhaul.com and sure enough there were trucks available. This lady is very prejudice and should NOT be representing uhaul.

Overall it was a good experience. I did have a problem with the hand truck coming loose and breaking the seal when it should not have. I had to strap it to the wall due to what I was hauling and fearing that it would break loose and hit it and damage it. The mooring for the hand truck did not work well.

The person at this U-Haul location did not know how to properly & SAFELY hook up the trailer. They left the chains handing down so far than when we were driving, the chains were dragging on the road and causing a lot of sparks, so many sparks that it could have caused the tires to catch on fire. The only way we knew this was someone on the toll way honked and pointed to the back of our car where the trailer was attached and we pulli G to the side of the toll way & stopped snd they stopped behind us and got out and told us what was wrong. We made 3 16 hour rebound tips to Iowa with this trailer. If this kind Good Samaritan had not gotten out attention, we very likely would have had a tire fire and would have lost every thing in the trailer and might have burned up our car as well. I will NEVER use the Piggly Wiggly grocery store U-Haul location again, and I am going to post a negative review on the Zion Township Facebook page to warn all Zion people to NEVER use the Piggly Wiggly U-Haul location as they do not know how to safely connect the trailers to vehicles. U-Haul should NOT allow the Zion Piggly Wiggly to rent out U-Haul equipment. It is a HUGE danger and legal liability….I would have sued Piggly Wiggly AND U-Haul for all damages to our positions and to our SUV.

The person which she called her self a manager (Nan) have manners , hang up phone lied about no truck available end up there is one available that day I'm lucky I called the costumer service and I was able to rent it 2 days instead of one day and she kept telling me thar I'm yelling at her so I turned down my cell phone making sure that I was not the problem but she still insist I'm yelling then she hang up the phone

The truck which I picked up in Grayslake was not 'road-worthy'. The mirrors were non-functional and the area above the cab leaked and several boxes were soaked! I don't think the truck had any shocks on it because the ride was EXTREMELY bumpy. Two of my bookcases broke during the ride. They were fine when they were packed on the truck. The mirrors would move every time we hit the slightest bump in the road. We drove from Illinois to Utah 'blindly' for about 98 % of the time because the mirrors would not stay where we adjusted them. I was charged FAR MORE than this truck was worth. You are lucky we did not get into an accident! I believe I am due a refund for the cost of the truck and trailer. I am still waiting for the General Manager to return my phone call.

The employees at Piggly wiggly were friendly, professional and courteous. The van was brand-new, immaculate and we'll maintained. They made the rental process effortless. The one multi hair colored lady with the patriotic nails is a superstar and she deserves a raise and promotion.

My truck was on E!!! I mean I had to pray my way to a gas station about 2 miles away. They said they had no trucks with gas and that my contract shows I would get 17 $and some change to bring it back on 1/4 tank. I did that and never received a credit. When asked about it, I was told I had to call UHaul. They NEVER answer the phone no matter what time of day. So I basically put gas in their truck for them as I used what I needed and gave it back 1/4 full. GAME!!!!

We waited a long time for someone to help us (at least 15 minutes). The worker passed us on our way in, asked if we are dropping off equipment, and then said I'm going on break. When he came back he had difficulty finding contract and there was a second person helping him that was not around or available while we waited for him to come off break. Terrible customer service at this location. Thankfully pickup was not the same.

The person helping me was also the grocery store customer information support. The process of checking out the moving vehicle is a pain in the butte. Trying to look at pictures outside in the sun to verify condition didn't go well. Some how a button had been pushed so, verification of the mileage took a while to figure out.

When arriving to drop off the rental equipment, it seems there is a disconnect between corporate and this location. We have been currently waiting for 30 minutes now. Inexperienced personnel is making this process more longer and stressful than it needs to be.

The vehicle I received was clean but did not perform well at all. Driving in the neighborhood was just fine but when getting on the Interstate, the vehicle consistently shook from the engine area. In retrospect it is as if the transmission was not shifting above 50 miles per hour. This happened going to the pickup while the vehicle was empty and not in tow mode as well after the pickup and loaded with the vehicle in tow mode. Checked tires and they were not low. Triple checked to make sure Transmission was in the D position when traveling each time. I felt very unsafe but completed the trip because there were over 10 people involved in this furniture pickup which was a donation and had been planned for over a month to our non profit. Fine driving through the neighborhoods but significant vehicle shake/ bumpy ride when accelerating and traveling over 50 mph on the Interstate. Please do not rent this vehicle again without thorough maintenance.

The girl who I returned my key to was not a customer friendly person. System was down. I tried to return it Sunday evening but was not able to. I was asked why I didn't leave the key, well no one told me where to leave it. No credit for early return and extra fuel... not right

Wen i went to pick up my pick-up truck the guy behind the counter did not even acknowledge me even though I was standing at the U-Haul window/counter. It took a cashier from the floor to come over and tell me that the service desk was closed (there was no sign posted with hours anywhere to be found) when I told her that I was there to pick up a truck. The guy who was putting away liquor bottles (he'd stopped a couple times to look up at me beforehand as if I was a nuisance to him) then slowly got up and asked what I needed. After rudely asking for ID I said that I had the reservation number if that would help although it's the only pick-up truck they have. It took almost long as long to pick up the truck a it was to reserve it the day before. If I did not have any other option at the time I would have gone elsewhere.
