Dale at Portland auto was the best. So glad he could come on a Sunday morning and do the computer process with me. So appreciated
Marcy DSelf Checkin/Checkout was a nightmare and would never recommend this - I added 2 drivers with license and phone number as requested - I was not told ahead and the website did not state this, that all drivers needed to be there for pick up. The Geolocator app for check in did now work- had to call the 800 number several times. The truck was filthy inside and out- it looked like someone had just gone mudding. If you are renting equipment someone should be at the location to assist.

LAURIE TThe location was closed (no big deal) but signs were confusing about where to park the truck. There are many signs on the property about where NOT to park but nothing stating where to park. I took a guess, drove up the long driveway, and parked near other trucks. There were two signs up there "No trespassing" "We own firearms and a backhoe" which were not comforting for a young woman out there by herself. Walked down the long driveway back to the main garage to return the keys and saw the sign to go on the internet and start the return process UGH. walked back down the long driveway, and did the in-app stuff. I was told I would have to pay extra for going over the mileage (even though someone called me and asked me to bring it to Bridgton instead of the closer Uhaul in Standish). In summary- the signage on-site should be clearer and not as threatening for after-hours returns. And I need some assurance I am not going to be charged for the extra miles I was asked to drive.
Lauren PThe truck was parked on ice, not cleaned, and didn't have the equipment I had reserved. When I reached out to U-Haul they basically said tough, deal with it. I probably will go with a different company next time.

LARRY MNo furniture pads as ordered were provided. No one was around to assist. Back door was frozen shut and it took almost 10 minutes to get it open. Verification process was not smooth. Not a fan of self check in. Unhappy with new rental pickup location. Truck tire had nail and screw in it and we needed to call for service.
Candice PReservation made for a 20' truck and confirmed! 24 hours before pickup was told 20' not available but 26' available 15 miles away and I would have to pay milage charge both ways ($1,09 x 30 miles= $32,7). Eventually was able to rent a 10' truck not what I needed or reserved!!! If this is normal U-haul procedure I will not be renting from U-haul again.

TOM FArrived at the place which I booked at online and had confirmation receipt. On arrival they did not have a booking in my name and in the system it said it was at the Oxford store. There was zero communication to me and just by sheer like location I booked in at had a truck available.

DIANNE WExcellent customer service can't say enough about the owner of this shop. He was closed for the weekend but happened to come by and saw me in tears! I could not obtain the van with the phone and he opened the office and within 10 minutes, had my keys and was gone. He is a real gentleman and will be going by to thank him again for his kindness.

BRIAN FI will tell you this... It was the worst experience ever. I wouldn't recommend U-Haul at all. My dad passed and I had to go to NH to retrieve my car I was restoring. I live in Buffalo. I contacted U-Haul 2 1/2 months in advance so I would have a 10' truck and car hauler to be picked up 6 miles from where I would be. I was putting others out to drop me off. It was changed to a place that was 28 miles away in another state. My nephew took me to get the truck and because he did he was unable to get back in time to get his wife to go to the interment. The truck wasn't a 10' but a 15'. Taller and more than 5 times the truck I needed. It also used a lot more gas than expected. The steering wheel was sticky and also had 2" if play so I had to jockey it all the way. The drop off was not where I wanted I felt that it was where U-Haul wanted it for your convenience. Some BS that it was rented but there were several 15' trucks at that location. Everything was fine until I had committed to then it became a Shit Show. Never again and I'm not done with reviews you are the worst!
Charles TTrailer was not swept out - it had a large amount of potting soil all over the floor. I assume the last user transported plants that spilled and they did not clean it out.
