The U-Haul location is at a small neighborhood store and there was only one person on duty who was handling the U-Haul Rentals and ringing up customers who buying food, snacks, cigarettes and beer.KENNETH L.

The Airconditioner did not work. There were cigarette ashes and a lighter left in the truck when I picked it up. If U-Haul does not do something for me because it was so miserable I plan to write the CEO. It was 105 degrees and no AC.Rufus R.

Had a great experience only issues i had is they equipment I initially wanted wasn't at this location not the dealers fault just need to make adjustments to the app and website that certain dealers don't have certain equipment. Overall no issues with the vehicle or customer service.Daniel F.

Contract was for one day from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm (estimating) with the stipulation that we would be charged an extra 20 $if brought back late. I brought it back in the morning before noon and the attendant charged me for another day. She rescheduled a reservation for 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm the second day (hours after we had returned the vehicle). This increased my bill by 69 $and they said on the receipt they work hard to give you the best lowest rate. Such a lie.Donna B.
Owner told my son he couldn't drop the truck off at his location because it was too big. We drove 13 miles to drop it off and he knew we were bringing the truck. Very rude man and location is awfulFrances N.
The gentleman who assisted us was extremely kind and very helpful, I understood everything and felt very comfortable with the decision to rent after he took such good care of us. I hope I don't need to move again any time soon, but if I do, I will definitely go back here.michelle L.
Another situation in which I drove past a U Haul location not a couple miles from where I was located in San Antonio. Again, I was NOT allowed to choose where I wanted to drop the truck off at. PENSKE gave me that option. When I picked the truck up at Union Grove, WI that is where I was told my only option for drop of was the 4 listed in San Antonio. I even had the address of the U Haul location not far from the location I delivered my household goods to. One of the complaints I have about the truck was NO CRUISE CONTROL. Imagine a 1400 mile trip with NO Cruise Control. Penske Trucks much better. So now I have rented from Penske (3 times) and U Haul once, will probably go back to Penske. This was a very frustrating experience. I will say a Great Shout OUT for Jasmine out of the WI location who talked down as I was was very upset and ready to cancel the reservation - so she saved this reservation in spite of my dissatisfaction with U Haul's business model for rentals. Also, i simply do not understand the fuel policy - why is it not required that the trucks be returned full of fuel like a rental car. That way each renter pays for the fuel they consumed and not have to guess how much fuel to put in before returning. Simply does NOT make sense. So I ended up returning the truck with more fuel than I received the truck with. Again, if U Haul required full fuel to be returned than each renter would only be paying for the fuel they used. I could go on about this sad experience but it is what it is. I normally do NOT fill out survey's. I AM the silent customer, If I am unhappy I simply walk away and choose not to do business. This is the only person that helped me accomplish a move after driving 4 hours and going through 5 different uhaul dealers. I praise him and him only. I found local dealers lazy and incompetent. By stating they were open only to drive to the location and no-one was available and facility closed during what should have been normal operating hours. I will never use uhaul again. I ask that you look at all the requests orders I put in.....Customer Service is severely lacking within your industry and you should do a better job getting who you allow to be a dealer. Lastly...the dealer above is the only person that helped me!Oscar T.

We reserved our truck to pick up at 9am on 10/19. We get there and the man working immediately says he doesn't have the truck we reserved and basically makes us get the bigger truck that costs more. Fine. He kept telling us he's hard of hearing and that he was going to authorize 110 $but it's just a hold. Meanwhile, he's typing away, we didn't leave the spot until 935/940 am. We had to rtn it by 9pm same day. We took the insurance since the truck was scratched up in that condition. We move our things and return the truck before 9pm. I think we returned it around 6. We drove a total of 12 miles at least. Today, we have a charge of 134 $. Taxes and cleaning fee of 25 $. We didn't get the truck fresh and new. It was already dirty but they're charging us to clean it. I expected a final charge of around 75 $once settled. 39 for rental, 14 for insurance, 10 for dolly, maybe a little gas. 85 $tops. We were charged 134 $dollars for not even having it a full 12 hours This is uncalled for and awful. I need someone in corporate to address and correct. I was staying at the Marriott River Center for the amputee coalition convention and there was a U-Haul parked in front with the sign that says rent me 19,95 a day plus mileage. I had an event on Sunday at Trinity University approximately 4 miles away and had some frisbees , a disc golf basket and drinks that I needed to take over for the event. Rather than jamming them in somebody's car or taking a cab it seems like the truck was a no-brainer . When I called the number I was told that because I wanted to pick it up later then six there was a place less than 2 miles away where I can pick up a truck 24/7. She described to me the process which sounded very simple and I made the reservation. The location for the truck was farther than anticipated and the cab driver indicated it was a very bad part of town. He usually does not go there, but because I was disabled he would take care of me. We arrived at the pickup site at about 6:30 and tried to go through the process of picking up the truck. Then I was told that I owed 26 $from a rental in November of last year which I know was incorrect as I had paid in full in cash and stayed under the mileage and returned with tank full. I paid it with credit card because it was no time for me to argue I had people waiting on me. I was told then that my reservation was cancelled. I told him that I was at the pickup site and After several attempts to try to complete the processed I then tried to call customer service, Meanwhile my cell phone was running out of power. Fortunately my cab driver had a charger cord or I would have been dead in the water. They telling me that the images were blurry or needed to show all the corners and at this point being a diabetic and an amputee I was shaking so bad that I guess I could not hold my camera straight. I called several times and stayed on the line more than 30 minutes and just heard the same message over and over again about leaving a review of your experience which at that time was maddening and as I said it was sucking my power up . we were chatting online with several different customer service people to try to resolve it but finally got a person to speak with who told us just put the license down instead of trying to hold it in my hand and take the picture . I guess during after-hours there's only a few people handling phones because the response time was horrible. The cab driver helped me or what I would have not been able to verify who I was as they talked to him. I found much difficulty trying to rent the truck the process that took almost 2 hours and 108 $in cab fare. My cab driver named fnu only charged me 27 $and told the company that his meter was broken and he forgot to turn it off but it would have cost me 108 $he just didn't want to leave me in a bad neighborhood stranded trying on my own where my phone would have run out of power . When I initially made the reservation I anticipated it cost of about 50 $including milage. When I tried tRandall M.

Our reservation was for the uhaul on south military road. That location had not received our reservation. They located the truck st another location. That was poor reservation service and made us drive all around town vKeven H.
The location was fine..UHAUL CUSTOMER SERVICE REP ON THE PHONE, THAT'S ANOTHER STORY. Very unorganized, kept giving me and entering the wrong information into the system. Worse thing was my debit card was used for "reservation holding only" and I was told that NO MONEY WOULD BE CHARGED to the card. Come to find out after I paid my balance in cash the money was still taken for my card putting me in a negative with my bank. Just to go and find out that I have to wait three to five business days to be reimbursed. Representative should not be telling people that the card is only for a hold but yet they turn around and still took money from my account. Nick is the MOST amazing rental agent. Just a couple of us gals emptying out a storage unit. Nick was patient, took his time explaining the details in renting for a few hours. The truck was clean, full tank, and cruised like a champ. Although we kept the truck 10 hours, the rate was 1/2 of what I was expecting. I'll see him real soon, as there is another storage unit to be emptied. Nick with Primos Food Mart #3 is A++++.norma G.

My family and I had issues with payment of the UHaul. As my siblings and I were moving my mother to my home in Missouri, from Texas, I placed the reservation with my credit card. I included my sister and mother on the reservations as drivers. When my sister, who went down to Texas to help my mother attempted to pick up the truck they were told they couldn't put the fees on the card I used for the reservation because they didn't have the physical card. I was more than happy to call and give my authorization but I had assumed since I used my card that all the expenses would be put on said card. Luckily my sister was able to cover it but now I have to pay her back. This is not a helpful system and I will look at the other rental rtruck companies before I rent from UHaul again.
