Jennifer W.It was my first time I rented uhaul. I returned the Van one hour before the time stipulated. I returned at 7:11 pm when the hour was 8:00pm. I left the key in the security box, because the shop was closed. Nobody told me that I had to send a sms text indicating I was returned the van. For that I had to pay $ 57 over the price I paid for the rent. Bad experience.

Thomas G.The attendant was kind and friendly but the cab of the truck was filthy and it smelled. I literally had wipe down the seats, dashboard, floor and windows. There was blood on the drivers side seat and the door jams/storage sections were sticky, the dashboard had what looked like coffee that had dried and the floor had dirt on it. Not to mention the dirty windows. I paid over $2000 for this 5 day rental that I had booked to move my daughter from New Jersey to Arkansas for college. I was on the fence about doing the review because I didn't want the attendant who was very nice to suffer from this review.
Derrick N.We needed to rent a uhaul that was a 6x12 enclosed trailer. High Bridge uHaul was the only place that could accommodate us. I made a reservation with 1800 uhaul I went to pick it up, and the owner, Karen was so nice and extremely pleasant to work with. I told her I wasn't comfortable attaching it to my truck myself and she had no problem going with me in the yard and doing everything for me! She showed me how to unhitch it when I returned it. She was personable, sweet and very kind. I would HIGHLY recommend renting from High Bridge Uhaul, you will not be disappointed. I will go here for all my uhaul needs. She also owns R& K Petro, a mechanics shop, and I may be bringing future car repairs there. I don't understand the negative reviews as my experience was nothing but pleasant.

John M.I reserved a 15 foot truck for pick up in High Bridge NJ on April 30th and when I went to pick it up I found out it was cancelled! The local location that took my reservation did so without having a truck available, they transferred my reservation to a location Washington NJ, 15 miles from where I live (a problem because I had to pay for mileage) they gave them the wrong phone number, when the new location tried to call me they couldn't reach me so they just cancelled it. I know the original location had my correct phone number because I received a text confirmation of r reservation. The Washington location did not have a truck at all. I had to rent a trailer for $40 and luckily I had a friend with a pick up truck who could help and drive the trailer. The High Bridge location was able to get me a 10 foot truck for May 1. I was supposed to be out of my apartment before the 1st. The people moving in were inconvenienced as well, they were supposed to be out by the 1st as well. My Landlord said this will affect the return of my security deposit because he had to accommodate the new tenants. I had to make several trips because the trailer was small and the truck was smaller that I reserved in the first place. A move that was supposed to be done in one evening took 2 days! When I went to return the truck, the mobile return check in would not let me upload a picture of the mileage and said I would be charged a $20 "convenience fee" of if I don't do the mobile return. This $20 plus mileage (only 4 miles away) cost me 2 days of moving, $130+++, a portion of my security deposit, $150 to have someone help me move to expedite it because we were stuck trying to rush on May 1st, and the stress of all of it. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! And when I spoke to customer service, she blamed ME!!! She said that because I didn't provide an email address, that was the reason why this happened!!

THOMAS W.My approval took over 45 minutes while I sat at location which is unnecessary and unacceptable, cut into 45 minutes of moving time. Upon return the photos of the truck wouldn't upload, I called and got a representative who was extremely nasty and told me IT WASNT HER PROBLEM and to drive around until I could find a better signal.
Jill D.The truck was great and if it wasn't for the attendant being 8 minutes late to open the store for 9am I would have had a perfect experience. There were 3 customers waiting for her to open on the morning and one of them said she is “always late- last time it was 20 minutesâ€. I had to make it to another appt so this is unacceptable and may keep me from renting here again that early. When I confronted her she didn't apologize just snapped “I'm not lateâ€. I said “it's after 9 you're lateâ€. The other staff were amazing and helpful and professional.
Suzanne H.Clean the truck better. I had reserved the 15 foot truck. But got a call later telling me that there were no 15' trucks and offered me the 10' one. Smaller truck which cost me more money because of the multiple trips that I had to do.

Peter S.Your reservation system needs work. If you are going to have us reserve a truck at a location, have it there. We spent an hour searching for a truck weeks in advance and settled on Long Valley as it was the closest to our house in budd Lake nj. We get a call 48 hours ahead of time that long valley was only considered our preferred location and that the closest truck was in high bridge. Obviously our preferred location would be our home town. High bridge is 45 minutes away If you were honest about how you assign trucks we would not have been blindsided and would have spent a lot less time searching for a truck. Do better next time
Brian A.While the car and location were nice, but the instructions for a contact less pick up are horrible and wasted 1 hour of our time. The instructions sent via text and not adequate, the links do not lead to a "check in" and the steps are ambiguous. Customer service was not able to help, just kept on saying go go uhaul.com/share which leads to nothing when I only have a reservation number. I was only able to self check in because on a whim I decided to look at my emails. Even the drop off process instructions on text messages are not consistent. They say to click here to start the drop off, but upon clicking the link it's just my receipt. I suggest you get this process straightened out. I dont think I will be using Uhaul again and will probably suggest to use it as a last resort next time. How do these incoherent process steps make it to production? Horrible.

Michael R.The owner manager told me where the lock box was located but did not warn me to do the check in procedure. UHaul says this is in my contract but this is an adhesion contract and has to be reasonable on its face. Because I did not know about the photo check in procedure, the owner did not close my account for most of the next day, so I incurred additional charges beyond the $20 check in fee. I feel U-Haul treated me unfairly.
