I appreciated the video help and step by step process through the Uhaul account! My only recommendation would be to make putting the key in the drop off another step in the process before completing everything in case someone forgets to leave the key. :) Dropping off the uhaul may have been the easy part of my moving experience.Frank J.

This U-Haul pick-up site was recommended to me by past owners. While filling out the forms, I was told to initial form saying vehicle was clean and when I see it, if it is not clean, I can let them know. They sent me out alone to get the truck and they were not there to tell them lots of long dog hair was everywhere in the truck. I decided to just leave as I'd had enough hassle by then....In the beginning I was quoted a price with a witness, so I went and got the funds that week. When I came back a week later, the price was 600 $more -quite a bit higher. I called the lady with me and she said the exact amount that I remembered without being told. Resigned, I went home to transfer more funds and wanted to depart the same day. I had all needed but the extra 600 $and would have it in my account in 12 hours. I asked the day I wanted to depart if I could pay all but the surprise 600 $which I would pay with a check since the funds go in my account the next day at noon. Received unfriendly, firm "No." response; I was shocked. I left not knowing what to say. I'd never been to a business in Lancaster County so unwilling to work with a customer. After transferring the funds, I called to come get the U-Haul that same day with another lady driving me there. They said they were closing though I was 20 minutes away and their internet site says they closed over an hour later. I mentioned I was not far away. They said they're closing early. That was that. This forced me to change trip times with 5 families and my final destination, call all helping to load...re-plan the food for those helping to load and I incurred much more expenses, lost sleep before traveling.....The woman who assisted me was not as pleasant as I would have expected, though I love her. Everyone can have a bad day. The next day when I got the vehicle, the men were more kind and business like and this was greatly appreciated. The truck drove very well and was a blessing. It was just that I ended up having to drive straight through which was much harder and much more of a risk to the truck, spent more than I was originally told the same week, and I lost lots of sleep before departure. I felt I was trying to work things out for both our best, but I was not trusted, or I was offensive to them. Also, I am a missionary and most businesses don't make me pay taxes because I have a tax-deductible number I use for this purpose. Basically, my whole life is volunteer work in Haiti. I am supported by others to do this work and don't pay taxes as a non-profit. But, I had to pay taxes too...no discussion or politeness. I took the truck saying as little as possible since it was recommended to me by Henry and Pat Zimmerman who retired from this same location years ago. I think I'll try other options another time even though I was well pleased with the way the truck traveled, the preparations of the truck and all internet communications! I think the office would be a win-win situation if some politeness were added to the conversation. So, I believe they gave above average service concerning the truck, and it would have been excellent with just some kindness. One can say "I'm sorry, we are unable to do that for you, though I am sure it would be helpful if we could." Or if you don't do tax-deductible clients, one could say, "I'm sorry, we are unable to handle tax-deductible clients on our current computer system." That would not be a problem. This was my first experience, so I was clueless about how things are done. Some explanation of normal procedures would have been helpful on my first visit. I don't want to be overly negative...I just want to help others have a great experience with U-Haul! I don't want them having the struggle I had that made me over tired and I even got sick on the way. I vomited 5 times and lay on a rest-area bench in VA for over an hour thinking I had appendicitis maybe. After an hour, I hobbled to the truck, and drove all the way...feeling better after unloading all in my stomach and bowels. I was working so hard to pack things, buy things and get the rental, I swerved a few times close to my final destination and went to a rest area where I slept for half an hour before my final destination one hour away could be reached. Had I been able to depart on time and pay ALL by credit card the following day by giving them my credit card information as I asked, I would have had a very good trip. But that was not an option. It did become a risk of an accident not to protect the driver's health before departure and adding LOTS of work, which was on top of the added work I was receiving because my church friends are being held hostage in Haiti right now and I am trying to get there to be with them. Kindness and knowing one's customer goes a long in business at such times but this takes some time in a busy world like today. I hope we don't lose 'personal touch' though. People are still worth more than money or a business deal. This is why I love everyone at the office where I got the wonderful U-Haul truck, but I guess I'll ship UPS instead. This way I'll have the funds I need to pay for the shipment by plane into Haiti....next time.wanda F.

The inside of the truck was fairly dirty from the previous renter. Mostly a lot of loose ground dirt. I was hauling furniture so I had to place pads down. Other than that it was a good experience.Robert S.

We ordered a 10' truck 6 weeks prior but were "upgraded" to a 15' truck without our knowledge. It was a challenge to drive 6 hours, as well as park, and was very rickety. We would have appreciated a call beforehand to ask if that was acceptable or if there was another pickup place we could get a smaller truck at.William L.

Offer some money back to the customer for having to deal with a serious issue of cigarette smoke and cleaning the cab myself. The paper towels from cleaning the cab were dark yellow. I drove the truck for 19 hours and returned it cleaner than when I picked it up.Sherri D.
I just didn't like how I had a reservation for 2 months and on the day of my move. I had to drive a total of 3 hours in a half between 3 location to get my truck to then pack up.. if someone has a reservation then it needs to be honored hands down.. To be honest, this should not be a U-Haul location. They have failed to disclose information on rentals for large trucks and they did not have the truck when we needed it. When we went for help and to check, they kept closing early and weren't available. We did just get a day van and there were no issues with that, the anything else is horribke.Kenneth J.

I had the misfortune of locking the keys in the van after hours. I called U-Haul help line and they had a person on site in a little over a hours time had the the van unlocked. Nice job U-Haul Help.Gerald R.

15' box truck rented today was clean but the engine ran rough like it needed a tune-up and or timing w a s off some. For just driving 7 miles with the truck it used 2-3 gallons of gas to get gauge back to where it was when we took truck.Michael R.

When I set up the reservation for the truck online, I selected Adam's Service Center at 126 E Division Highway, Lititz. When we got there, there was no truck and he said this sort of thing seems to happen many times when customers rent trucks with him but there are never any trucks there. Purely by luck, calling other U-Haul places in the area, we discovered that our rental was moved to Ray and Randy's. I was never notified that our reservation was moved. It was not a good morning trying to figure out if and where we had a truck. Once we got to this other place, everything went great. I do not fault either location, but I do fault U-Haul for not telling me that the reservation was movedANDREW D.

Bring down the price, and all the B. S. taxes that are tacked on to the bill! Allow folks to keep the truck for a week and not charge them 40,00 $ per day extra. Not everyone has a bunch of people to help them unload some of us are older and cant do what we once could. Please, Be kind.rick K.

I was told I was setup for online checkin when I arrived at 4:30 (closing time). No problem. Except I never received a link for the checkin and staff had made absolutely no effort to confirm that. 2 phone calls to Uhaul support and 45 minutes on hold till I finally received a link. I was not a happy camper. 2nd person I talked to on 2nd phone call was awesome and needs a raise. First person I talked to on both phone calls was no help whatsoever and would maybe be better off working at Burger King.Keith M.

The only issue I had was that I tried to complete everything online so I could pick up the rental without going into the office. Following the prompts on my cell phone, I was told that "an agent was reviewing" the rental and would be with me promptly. They were not, in fact, an online agent never came available, so I went into the office to complete my rental which was done quickly and efficiently by the rental location.Thomas W.
