The staff was friendly and helpful, but the truck was not ready and stowed away and we had to wait for it to be brought out. It was sadly also dirty in the back. Also, tow items on our order was not available, which was annoying.

They wrote the incorrect drop off time on my receipt charging me 2 rental periods instead of 1 as per my reservation. The case was resolved by uhaul customer service, but they should provide some form of proof or receipt that correctly reflects drop off time upon drop off of the vehicle.

I returned the U-Haul via self checkout around 2 am and the worker at the lot did not understand the concept of self checkout so he held me up for almost 30 minutes past 2 am. I was tired from moving all day and just wanted to go home. Furthermore, the truck itself had many check lights on from tire to passenger doors indicating they were open when they were closed and locked. The worker on site earlier in the day insisted this was not an issue and had me leave with that same vehicle. I was cautious and also uncomfortable feeling that U-Haul would try and blame any issues on me or that I would end up on the side of the road with mechanical issues. Despite this, the worker insisted it was okay, so I took photos of everything before departing. Overall this was a stressful, tiring, and horrible experience. I know not all U-Haul locations are like this, but I was very unhappy with this location. Thank you for your time and consideration in reading my honest review.

I originally booked a van from a different location and didn't get a notification that it wasn't reserved even though I got a confirmation saying it was. I then had to go all the way to the Bronx to pick up the van. Y'all need to have a better system keeping track of the trucks available and when a reservation is made.

Keep clean the trucks update the information about the truck and someone from u haul stuff need to be there, not the parking person to give you the keys and u haul person speak with you through the phone. Overall this place need lot of improvement.

I need to follow up on customer service about my reservation. I reserved a 10' truck for a move and I went to pick it up, it wasn't available. I had to settle for a van. Luckily, I was able to squeeze everything. I wasn't even offered a discount for the inconvenience.

The gentlemen in charge was not present at the time of picking up the vehicle. There was 2 other gentlemen ahead of me. The parking lot attendant had to call him aNd he proceeded to instruct the attendant on how to go about it. He even said if I'm not happy with the service I can go wherever else I'd like.

It was nice that I could drop off the truck after hours, but the site was dirty, cramped, and no one spoke English on site which made it difficult to explain that I was trying to return the truck. I was actually charged for parking overnight after returning the truck to the right location! All in all, not a great experience.

I hated this location average because of the level of communication. I called the day before to confirm my reservation for a 10' truck (at 8am). I was told to be there by 8 and the worker dedicated to releasing the trucks was not present. I waited 45-60 mins to be serviced. The person I was waiting for never arrived and another worker from the parking garage helped me. The location is convenient but moving forward I would go to a local UHaul storage unit location that rents their trucks, not a third party location.

I ordered a dolly and furniture pads that I never received because they were all rented out. I asked the customer service rep at the location for a refund and he told me to contact haul. I e-mailed and have yet to receive a response or my money back.

The worse customer service experience I've ever delt with! Had a scheduled reserved appointment at 930am in which I paid for and scheduled days prior to arrival they couldn't find me assigned to the location but when they called main head quarters it showed I was assigned I didnt leave out that place til 1130am from my 9:30am appointment!

I am documenting my recent rental experience with Uhaul for the purpose of two objectives: 1) confirm that I have returned the truck within 24 hours and settle the final receipt 2) articulate pain points through the customer experience and hope that U-Haul takes this feedback as opportunity areas to improve and does not treat their customers this way in the future Three weeks ago, I made a reservation #24119939 online for a U-Haul truck from Chelsea in NYC to University City in Philadelphia thinking that I was all set for pickup and also thinking to myself how easy the reservation system is (boy, was I wrong and headed for the worst customer experience I've ever had with a rental company). On Friday, 6/19, (1 day prior to my actual rental), I get a text that the truck that I reserved from Chelsea was not available and that I had automatically been reassigned to pick-up from a parking lot (yes, a literal parking lot) in the Bronx which was over 1 hour and 15 minutes away. After calling the Chelsea office (and was told that they did not have any availability and to call around to other offices), I called Brooklyn (said they were also out of availability) and New Jersey (nobody picked up after multiple times) offices and was not given any other options - I asked multiple times to speak to somebody that manages regionally and was told that this person does not exist. I was also told this is the policy that they can randomly reassign your truck during the last 24-48 hours and you can't really do anything about it (I had to proceed anyways since I didn't really have another option at this point given I was so close to move which was in less than 24 hours after I called all the offices). On 6/20, Saturday morning, I make the subway / bus trip (since I don't have a car and live in NYC) out to the Bronx, it takes me about an hour and a half, and I arrive at a very sketchy parking lot (RD Parking - 2155 East Tremont) covered with barbed wire and which looks like to be a combination of an actual parking lot, the makings of an auto chop shop where random repairs / old cars are being taken apart, and a few U-Haul trucks. I had self-selected the online check-in because I received multiple emails from U-Haul and it was advertised on the website as the most effective and safest way given COVID-19, etc. I submitted the information I was asked for before I arrived to the parking lot (selfie picture, front and back of my DL) and was given a message that it was pending approval. When I arrive at the parking lot, some attendant in a makeshift office hands me the keys and tells me that my truck is in the way back of the parking lot (I walk back there, find the TM #3404R truck that was not clean, worn down, half-fueled and also stuck behind other cars), and then after I am already in the TM 3404R truck, I get a notification on my phone that the rental truck was updated to TM #5839M) probably since they realized that. I walk all the way back to the off

Access to vehicle was quite easy, however, it is uncertain if vehicles are being cleaned / sanitized during this pandemic. When I dropped off the vehicle, the attendant simply took the vehicle and there was no indication that the vehicle had been cleaned before my use or after.

The person at the time of my visit was poor at customer service. He was on the phone talking and texting half of the time that I had to remind him I'm still there and waiting. His tone appeared rude whenever he spoke and there was no sense of urgency in the manner he delivered the service. I felt literally pushed out of the door and premises as I was pointed to the van and office door closed quickly behind me. The van was just dropped off with no word or inspection done or whatsoever; before pickup and upon return. Customer service must be improved greatly at this location and it will be a better place. I did not reserve a pick up at this location. 2 days before picking up this uhaul, I recieved a message from a person this address calling to confirm my pick up at this location. I was confused because the majority of the message was in broken english. I called the original location that I placed this reservation on to confirm that I was still in fact picking up with them (location: 230 Broadway- in Riverdale, NY). The 230 Broadway location told me not to listen to the message and that I was confirmed for pick up at their location. the day I requested to pick up this uhaul I arrived early to the 230 broadway location and was told they do not have my truck size and that I must go to the Tremont Ave location. The lady behind the front desk apologized and told me I was mis-informed by the lady I spoke with 2 days prior. I had to take an UBER to the Tremont Ave location. This was 20 minutes out of my way and in a part of the Bronx I have never been to. This delayed my cross country move by 2 hours! The Tremont Ave location was being run by 1 person. We sat in a small shack on torn furniture with a cat and kitty litter at the door for about 40 minutes before the man running the location attended to us. There was no one else there. I will not be using uhaul for any future moves.

Please make sure there is an attendant at the location. Stop changing people's reservation time without permission. It was a total inconvenience. The uhaul app does not work for this location. Do not approve an after hour reservation if no on is going to be there. Honor your $50 guarantee incentives and not make a customer call all over the company and jump through hoops just to get it when the company was wrong. My appointment was at 630am and I didnt receive a truck until 9am. Total inconvenience

I paid to pick up a van at 8pm only to be told I can't take the van. How uhaul allows me to pay and set the pick up for 8pm to only refuse me when I get there. To than charge me 50 dollars extra for unnecessary stuff.
