I waited in a very messy and dirty rental place with garbage all over for almost 4 hours when I had completed the fast pickup with my cell phone. It said to go ahead of the line and pick up a key but there was no way I could get the attention of the person working and even after loudly telling him that I just needed a key he still ignored me. I went to lunch and returned only to continue to wait with the same people who were waiting all morning and there were only 4 people in line. It was absolutely unacceptable and made me very late with my move. I wasted time and gas and there wasn't a seat to sit on while we waited, there was barely any room to stand in among the mess. The van I rented was dusty inside as well, I took photos and then swept it out before returning it.

The whole process was unbelievably slow and unprofessional. I waited an hour and a half twice to get service and even when I made it to the till the employee couldn’t read the computer screen or figure out how to do the reservations. I had to help him check other people in because I knew more than he did. He’s a very nice man but completely incompetent. The whole experience was twilight zone!!!!

Very cluttered and disorganized location. I was out the door 1.5 hours after my pickup appointment, which left me not very pleased. Although the person at the location was pleasant and trying to be helpful, he could do with organizational assistance. He could also do better with personnel working for/with him - he is clearly overwhelmed.

Due to this location only Having one person on staff it took over an hour to return our truck. The only saving grace is the island manager From Victoria came in to help out or we would’ve been there much longer .

Used 24/7 pick up and didn't interact with the man at this sight. I chose 24/7 pick up to pick up my truck earlier but I ended up not able to pick it up until the sight opened. Not sure why it was advertised as a 24/7 pick up option.

i arrived at 9:00 am and there were two customers ahead of me. i got the keys to the truck at 12:05. 3 hrs wait is absolutely ridiculous i will not use this UHaul dealer again as this is the second time i have experienced the same issues and will tell anyone and everyone who will listen what an awful experience this was. i would be happy to discuss with a regional manager as i think there is some easy fixes for the corporation wrt this location if you care

You need more competent staff at the Courtenay location on Macpherson rd. We had to wait over an hour just to return the truck etc

The man running the place alone needs an assistant. He is literally is running trying to keep up with the steady stream of customers. As a result there are long waits. This is not his fault. He is courteous, pleasant and helpful, but there is just no way he can do everything on his own.

I have never complained about service anywhere in my entire life, I’m a very patient person; but this specific location either needs to be shut down or taken over by new management. The manager didn’t know how to work his computer software properly. I had to guide him though the process on the computer and I don’t even work there. Typing in my reservation at the front desk took an entire hour when it should have taken no more than 10 minutes. The manager managed to delete my reservation 5 times and had to re-type the same info in over and over and I continually had to help him spell simple words. The uhaul shop itself was an absolute dump, costumers can hardly walk through the door as you have to step over the mess that’s everywhere. If you’re thinking of or renting a uhaul go anywhere except here, your patients and frustration levels will be tested to the max.

I have mixed reviews about this place. The place itself is a mess - you can barely walk in the office. The uhaul person was not aware/informed of my booking. The online system did not notify me of additional steps required. As a result, I was there at 11:00pm with no truck. It just happened that Robert was there and he basically redid the whole reservation (it took an hour). Without him there, my plans and schedule would have been ruined.

The owner Robert didn't bother to show up until 1:30pm when we were supposed to pick up at 10:30 am. There were a number of people waiting even longer than us. When he did finally show up he immediately went on the defensive saying that he had problems too blah, blah, blah. The office was beyond filthy. The engine cover in the cab of the truck was not secured properly and I had to stop shortly after leaving the Uhaul office because the heat coming straight of the engine was burning my feet. Thank goodness my son was following me and he figured out the problem and resecured the cover. If I could give less than one star for this location I would.
