I like the self checkout option. The process should be described during the time of the online reservation so the customer is prepared. I got a call about scanning my license 10 minutes before which I had to do again when I got there going through the app. The app is fairly user friendly for a 45 year old and younger people. It would frustrate older people.

The customer is entirely on their own with App, which was glitcy that both times, pick up and drop off - i had to call in and it took ages. Overall somewhat of humiliating experience getting a Uhaul

Nothing wrong with the location or the equipment, but the mobile app and check in process were very frustrating. At the very least you should warn people that the process can take a 1/2 hour and make it more clear what they will need in advance.

My original reservation was at American Tire in Hillsborough. We arrived only to find they did not have our truck available. However, they did find us what we reserved at the Somerset location. A small inconvenience for pickup, but an easier drop off.

Restas was unprofessional with handling UHaul in their business. He did not disclose or offer Safe Move while I was in the office but went ahead assume I needed it and charge me anyway aside from the fact that their printer doesn't work, therefore I went home without a receipt of what I'm getting charge. He made my move VERY STRESSFUL.

I filled out all I could on my phone your site keep crashing and then I got charged the 20 service fee. When I entered the miles and gas on my phone. I had your van just over 2hr put more gas then I started with drove 37 miles total at a cost of 93 dollars. That's not counting gas. I will rent somewhere else next time.

Everything was fine up until key drop off (after work hours). The app/website would not allow me to log into my account. After about 5 to 10 minutes of frustration, one of the employees helped me do it manually through their system.

The returns experience on the website didn't work for me. i was not able to see any of the screens shown in the self close out video. It just went into a page with 4 points and asked me to drop off the keys. before that it complained about no location even though my location was on. Also based on the video it seems like there are too many steps to return. It would help if you simplified it.

In the last minute I had to switch locations to get my vehicle from another location as the location owner did not leave the keys. This cost me time and money as the changed vehicle location was further from my destination. This cost me and it was very inconvenient as I also scheduled a loader and also took time from the ppl I was picking my furniture from. I would like a refund.

I thought the rental experience was negative. I did everything on line only to wait 1/2 hour at station for them to complete process. The truck did not come with ramp as advertise. The station closed early so I had to do self check out or would be charged $20. I retuned it with more gas and I get no credit.

There was so many things wrong with the truck that I had. - There was so many dents and scratches - The tire pressure was low - The windshield wiper was dirty and of course it pores when I rented. That's just to name a few. I will never use U-Haul again.

I booked a 5am mobile pickup and was told to come back at 9am because the keys were not placed in the lock box. Our entire move was delayed due to this inconvenience. Customer service was not helpful and placed us on hold with the main menu as the "waiting line". Overall, we will not be using this location or UHaul services in the future.

Restas employees were less than helpful and downright rude. The process of picking up was awful, time consuming (45 minutes to get a key). Very frustrating experience that I will never go through again.

The location was acceptable. The location had the truck physically available but the system was not working. I was stuck waiting for an hour before I was able to leave with the truck. I request to be reimbursed for what is not the first time the U-Haul system has caused extensive difficulty and delays.

The mobile pickup and drop-off service needs work. Very glitchy. I had to call the support number for each pickup and drop-off. Support personnel were great!

I was charged for fuel even though I filled the tank. Last minute ID check at 7:30 AM was annoying. No one to talk to with fuel problem, 45 minute wait time.

We reserved for a 20 foot truck to be picked up at Monmounth Junction 1:00pm on 10/31, but was told the night of 10/30 that only a 17 foot truck was available at 1873 Amwell Road. This means (1) we could not get all of our items in one cargo, and (2) we had to drive at least 15 additional miles. At the end when we returned the vehicle to the same location, a Shell gas station, around 8:30pm, we tried our credit card, which was authorized, but could not refill fuel perhaps because the station was closed. So we had to drive another 10 miles to get refill. Overall, it was quite a frustrating experience to say the least.

DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION!!!! Location forgot the dolly. Due to the missing dolly, I was unable to move any large items. I called the location and he wanted me to drive 60 miles (@.99 mile + gas 3,5 gallon) to retrieve it. He couldn't care less about the expense to me. I He said I should take it up with UHaul. Uhaul said I should take it up with him. Both entities should realize that I just had a newborn baby and her mother with suffering from health conditions due the pregnancy. They are taking further hurting my family financially.

The establishment is poor in terms of service. This is a car service place and even though there was ample parking, the owner would t provide us one for our car for 3 hours. He was not courteous and honestly very rude. We wouldn't recommend this location.

My wife and I went to drop off the car on Sunday night. We used the online App to close out. I kept trying to upload my odometer and gas reading picture to the app and it kept failing. I tried many many times. I made sure the U-Haul app had permissions to my phone. It did not work. I called U-Haul was sent to customer service then tech support for about a hour on hold. Then I went home with the van. Called customer service asked to speak to the manager and they hung up on my. Waited 10 minutes called back and asked to speak to the manager and they hung up on me again. I will never use U-Haul again due to the disrespect I received from this company.

Customer service via phone is TERRIBLE!!! It takes more than a half hour to get on the phone to speak with someone, and when you do they are extremely unprofessional and unfriendly. The location which I received the vehicle from was fine, the vehicle itself was in good condition as well.

Scheduled pick up fot 9a 5/9. truck was there but no key box? signed in on line, told had to wait till location opened at 12p?? had to move the hand truck to be able to secure very long boxes to the side wall. never ised the hand truck, but charged $14 . i have my own hand trucks.

The process of picking up your U-Haul any time you wanted showed no detailed instructions. No step-by-step instructions. I arrived at 7am. Did not know where to find the keys. I went to several other U-Haul's to try to obtain a truck. Finally, I returned to the original location and was told by the gas station personnel they did not know how the process worked either. We called Customer Service several times and were kept on hold. We finally figured the little black box may hold the secret. We opened it, found a key; it was not locked. Another renter pulled up and together we figured out whose truck was whose. An hour from the original start time, we had the truck. While we were driving the truck, we received a call from someone from U-Haul that explained my paperwork to rent the truck was not complete and the truck could be reported stolen. So, while driving, I confirmed the information; i.e., copy of license via phone. The truck was great. The process was horrible; a nightmare.

We had a horrible experience with U-Haul (at no fault of the above location). We were told there was a guaranteed truck for us at our storage facility location (U-Haul owned), but there was not. We were not told this until we showed up to pick up the truck and were redirected to the above location as well. This is the fourth time in the past year that I have used U-Haul and this has happened EVERY time. Unfortunately, I will no longer be using U-Haul and I will also be sharing my negative experiences with my family/friends who are also moving this month.

First of all, one of the staffs in the office didn't a mask on and there was no effort of social distancing or use of plastic screen between him and a customer. This is unacceptable to put your customers lives at risk in a pandemic. Secondly, the check out experience was the worst. I have used U-Haul in other locations and never experienced such customer service. The staff couldn't check out the vehicle for me and sent me a few invalid links, and was very inattentive the whole time. I ended up figuring out myself and went through the on-line check in. However, he couldn't figure out the keys after all the work and we had to wait till his other colleague to help, who was way more professional and had mask on and use plastic screen at his desk.

you sent several emails about the process, but most did not have a link to log into your account to handle the transaction. Very frustrating and easy to fix. The online experience can be greatly improved. Do some user testing and you will be able to make improvements that should not cost much money and will make for a better user experience.

I had to rent during the pandemic to move my college student out and it felt very safe. Both the facility and the truck were clean and the employees were friendly and quick. Location is at a gas station, which was very convenient for refueling before return.

I reserved for Bridgewater location which is less than a mile. Unfortunately it was changed to somerset location which is 7 miles away from my home which costed me to pay for 14 miles.

Was overcharged for the truck. Supposed to be.99 a mile was charged 1,99 a mile. They didnt finish my contract for 3 days and then overcharged me. Never again

The guy attending the gas station had zero knowledge on how to rent the truck and how to even start the return process. While I kept browing the website until it load and was able to return it, it would have been a hassle had I gone with the attendant of "just returning your keys in the black box should be fine". At least put sign up by the black box on how to rent and return the truck, the need for so many pictures with no precious knowledge, again, just poor communication.

Truck had a tired appearance and the check engine light was on. I was quoted.99 cents per mile at another location but that location did not have a truck and found this for me at this location (which I very much appreciated that effort on my behalf). I realize the official rate for the weekend is $1,99 . Unfortunately when I realized the $1,99 rate applied I did not have enough time to locate a truck from a competitor and location representative said there was no leeway on pricing. My takeaway feeling was that I overpaid $250+ for a well worn feeling truck with a check engine light and no one waa available at 3:00pm on a Saturday. I had to make decision on whether to drive it or not. To be fair u had no incident with the truck I have another rental set up for next weekend but that rental i placed with Penske. Thank you for the opportunity to share my experience.

Ensure that the vehicle has been fully inspected. In my case the the was not properly latched. Otherwise everything was fine.
