They didn't have the reserved items I requested through U-Haul. Location was crappy and sketchy. The truck was beat up and ran horribly. Terrible service all around.

I reserved a 9' van and they did not have it for me so then I had to pay for 10' truck which was more expensive and not what I had reserved. A little disappointed.

i was quoted $260 at booking for a 10' truck - at the facility it was $305 - upon return it was over $350 - less than 8 hours - same day under 200 miles - that is outrageous - the unit was on the warning lite below E - i purchased $90 in gas for my trip on top of fee - the operator also was late to open - i will never go to a non company offsite location. HOW do you rent trucks on empty and tell customer returning it how you got it - seems odd - rental cars aren;t like that.

An empty tank of gas upon pickup is such an inconvenience. This location also does have furniture dollies or hand trucks requested at the time I made the order. Truck was dirty but I'm sure he'll try and say I returned it dirty. This experience might get me to stop using U-Haul for good. Would do zero stars if possible.

I went to this location on 12/20/23 to rent a small truck. I inadvertently said I needed a "Van" when I meant to say "truck". By the time I realized it, he had charged my card $47,09 (Contract #25281700). To-date I not received a credit for that amount. Additionally, I then was charged that same day for a truck that I was handed the keys for at 11:15am. I moved one bed, one couch and one dresser (.07miles). The place we moved into has strict rules and we had to move these items in before 2pm. I was completely moved in and returned the truck prior to 2pm. I was sent a receipt showing an refund of $8,22?? I was charged for the entire day. I have rented many U-Haul trucks in my lifetime and have never run into this situation before. I personally drive back to the location in Grape St and was told "it's between me and U-Haul"....and that it's an "all day rental". I drive the truck a total of 3miles. I was treated extremely rude and told he was doing no more for me. I am due the $47,09 for the van I never took from the lot, as well as a credit on the truck for using it from 11:30am-1:30pm. I was charged $67,32 for the truck that I drove 3miles, for 2hrs (Contract #25283033). I would expect U-Haul to make all aspects of these 2 transactions right, immediately. Trash in the cab. When I was told I would be dropping off at 4:30 I was not told that after hours drop offs were not allowed. So when I returned to drop off my car was locked up in the facility and I was not able to return the vehicle. I had to find parking for it overnight and find a place to sleep as I had planned to drive to New Mexico that night. The facility was supposed to open at 8:30 AM. The owner or manager did not arrive until 8:50 AM. $25 cleaning charge was added to my bill with no explanation. I returned the truck in the exact condition. It was in when I picked it up.

I arrived at the location to pick up the truck and immediately the agent was rude and acted as if I was annoying him by renting from his location. He wouldn't answer my question when I asked him why the rental charge was $400 more than I booked online. His answer was "environmental fees" I said I don't believe that and he said "talk to the location you drop off the truck". I said that's not right. I asked for a receipt to see the charges and he rudely said I sent it to you look for it. I didn't see it or receive it immediately so I asked again. He said I already sent it look for it. When I received the email I saw ge had added the expensive damage coverage. I did not agree or choose the coverage. He left without showing me the correct truck or inspecting for damage. Once I left I started a chat to ask about the additional charges and damage coverage. They too told me to talk to the return location. While driving from Santa Barbara to Denver the wipers and washer fluid stopped working. Driving was dangerous because the windshield was dirty from the water and eventually snow dirt covering the windshield. I had to pull over several times and physically clean the windshield. I stopped in grand junction to have the wiper blades replaced. The guy couldn't attach new blades. I thought to myself, the blades are going to fly off at some point and the driver side blade came off around Eagle CO in the snow. The passenger blade came off while I was stopped trying to replace the driver blade. Very dangerous driving in the snow with no wiper blades or washer fluid. I stopped at Loveland pass and tied a cloth around the blade and secured it with rubber bands, but without washer fluid the road dirt just built up and smeared. I used my bottled water and rolled down the window occasionally to splash water on the windshield to "wash" it off. Very stressful and again very dangerous on I70 snow roads. I addressed the issues with the drop off location in Denver. We shall see how U-Haul handles the situation. Also, side note, the radio did not work. Denver agents were very pleasant and apologized for the bad experience.

This one of the worst experiences I've had with any sort of rental company. I don't understand the point of online check-in if they are just going to make us wait 45 minutes. We had the elevator at the apartment building reserved and we missed half of the time because of the incompetence of the manager. All he did was give us the keys. Something that took seconds, and he made us wait for 45 minutes for that. If you value your time go to another location.

Very slow, end up standing in line with only 1 person ahead for over 30 min. They steal from customers. They overcharge for mileage but then they'll check the next person out with correct mileage and repeat on overcharging. I drove 7 miles and they're charging for 67. It's impossible to contact them to correct the invoice unless you show up in person. They won't reply to emails and phone goes straight to voicemail. It's a scam. Someone should audit their books and shut them down.

The 10ft truck that I reserved was not on the premises at my pick up time. The website said there was a $50 guarantee that the vehicle would be clean and ready. The attendant said all is dependent on when the previous renter returns the truck. I didn't have time to wait but I was able to grab an available van that was sitting on the lot. Much smaller than what I reserved, but I had to make it work. The lot attendants were very nice, but laughed off the $50 guarantee because they were the "middle man". Not sure what you can do to improve my experience. Don't know how the $50 guarantee works.

- no on-site parking (good luck finding a parking space in that neighborhood, at that hour) - vehicle not clean (rather unpleasant a condition, actually) - vehicle at 1/4 tank (nothing like having to find a gas station prior to performing ANY intended tasks upon pick-up) - attendant couldn't be bothered with anything - unable to complete transaction upon return due to 'system being off' - unable to receive any credit for higher tank level during return due to the above (pretty certain this would not be the case if it were the other way around) - quite dismal an experience - however, better than the initial "experience" at the originally-booked, intended location (Sports Arena), where the original reservation was made at, which was completely pathetic (vans available on-site, but 'unavailable' for pick-up, as they were "reserved" - idiots - my reservation for a van was made several weeks prior to pick-up) - separate review of that "experience" will be provided on-line and has nothing to do with this particular folio

While the self pickup was convenient it took over twenty minutes to complete and then when I asked for the key from the attendant she was surly. The truck worked great however.

The location was a parking lot sharing services with ACE Rental Cars. There was no indication of this upon completing the reservation. I was charged for a dolly that I removed from my reservation and noting one was not provided upon picking up the truck (which was correct).

The woman working there was the worst customer service experience I've had in my 51 years. I assume she is related to the owner because there's no other way she could hold any job much less a customer service job.

The Middle Eastern man who checked me in was very rude. The truck I rented was on-premises but he could not find the key. I suggested that the key might be in the truck and he told me to go look instead of doing it himself. I found the key in the truck and noticed the truck was filthy and the gas was on empty. He claimed the gas was 1/4 full. He did not make sure the dolly I rented was in the truck. The whole check-in process and having to get gas made me an hour late for my move-in time. I will never go back to that location.

We scheduled another location, got there and was told we had to go to this one. Got there, and were told there was no one to help us (person barely spoke English and worked for the other biz there) said person would be back in 5-7 min After 25 min another person came and said same thing. After another 15 min we asked if they could call owner who we were waiting for. Owner never came, instructed person to do by phone, person got keys but didn't know what truck, what supplies etc. they handed us keys, we had to walk around the lot trying to unlock each truck to figure out which was ours. Had to ask for the dolly and pads we ordered because person didn't know, had to get ourselves. Our reservation was for 8, we never got truck until 9:40 because of these delays. I had to pay the moving company for that time they were there and the truck wasn't. We were told we could not park our car at the place we picked up the truck although there were at least 100 spots avail. When we got into the uhaul, the gas was in E, we had to go to the gas station before we could even move. The truck drive terribly and was in need of maintenance, we returned it after 3 hours and rented a cleaner, safer truck elsewhere. All trucks at this location were in poor repair, rusty, dirty, even with duct tape holding mirrors and pieces on. This location should not be operating and representing your brand, the place was extremely sketchy and unorganized and unprofessional.

Horrible customer service. I reserved a truck with an after hours return but once I had the truck they told me they didn't accept after hours drop off. Did not recover all the equipment I asked for. Wanted to charge me extra day and fees for doing it off after hours. Would not recommend this place.

The service was fine, but the truck is extremely dirty. The cab is has dog hair, stains, dirt, and mud. The load area was just as nasty. I had to sweep it out and put down cardboard so I could put my boxes in the back. Exterior is muddy and unkempt as well.

The business name is not SD rental, and its address is not where it is advertised. No clearly marked key drops, vehicle had construction mud and clay on and in it, check out process was slow.

No sign for the office in fact, it is the car rental office across the street. Neither office nor lot at address listed. Never returned my phone message. Vehicle was filthy and smelled like a cattle car. Change Oil light was on. Agent did not go over checklist with me but he did get blankets to cover filthy floor.

I booked a uhaul 15 foot truck with a dolly, i did my pre vehicle inspection and found that that the gas was low, way below the 1/4 tank that was required to be there. The "50 mile low fuel warning" actually came on within 5 miles of driving the truck. Additionally, the dolly was missing and made the experience of moving incredibly difficult. Upon return of the vehicle, the attendant was incredibly rude and gave me attitude about not filing up the gas to 1/4 when he told me to return it to the original gas level. Additionally, i was charged with a dolly when i spoke to the attendant to specifically remove it. Location was great though.

Disorganized. The fact that you have to go to an office after you signed in across the street instead of just receiving your keys and the rental was a hassle and then when you get there, people that have not signed in or checked in or way ahead of you and instead of just handing you the keys they only have one guy that was rude I would not just give you the keys now. You're standing there an extra 30 minutes instead of just being able to get your rental and go. The rental we received had dirt dog food and dust all over it. I will never recommend this place ever again. I thought we were going to be less stressed with the rental situation but instead it opened another situation for us.

Arrived with an online pre check, but truck was not ready & attendant was not easy to find. When I found him & followed him to the his "office" across the street, he helped all the men who arrived after me & then assisted me with the check in, which I'd already down. He gave me the keys and directed me to muddy lot across the street to get the truck. I asked him to bring it street side for me & he was annoyed, although this courtesy was offered to all the men who preceded me. What should have been a 5 mi Ute pick up was 40 minutes.

Took a while to locate the little hut where we got the keys. It needs a Uhaul sign. I was also misinformed on how to check in the truck that caused a later call into the 800 number.

Horrible experience. First off i my location was changed 15 miles away and when I picked it up it was caked in mud in a muddy parking lot with massive puddles. I could barley even get to the car without stepping in mud. I'd like to revive a phone call please

This is not a professional location by any means. There is no legitimate office- it's a trailer that doesn't even have a sign for Uhaul. I waited for 20 mins for the guy that runs this place to come out of his RV that's parked with other uhauls. Secondly, the parking lot was flooded (I understand California is going through a lot of rain, but still not an excuse). Thirdly, I had reserved furniture blankets/pads and he did not have any of this available. He said "sorry, it got wet". I also reserved a lock - he did not have this as well. I was planning on buying extra boxes for my tv, but of course, he did not have this either. Finally, the uhaul truck was dirty and not ready for the next customer. I would shut this location down - horrible experience. I asked the lady for a refund or at least a discount, but she just hung up on me a few times. I will not be using uhaul in the future.

The gentlemen I dealt with was rude and didn't help me a bit. I had questions in regards to the operation of lights, bluetooth, etc. and he ignored my questions. He beeped at me to get out of the parking lot as I was trying to familiarize with all the functions. When I received call of confirmation of pickup location, I was informed that I could add to my order, he informed me that I could not.

It was in a dirt parking lot so the truck had a lot of dirt on it that got all lover the new driveway. As well as the location did not have dollys which I orders. Also I order at another location then then they couldn't make that work and that changed it and charged me the extra miles I drove.

My original reservation was at the 3070 Reynard Way location. Vendor there was rude and unhelpful. Ended up walking 1,5 miles to this location which we were trying to avoid from their Uhaul-Nazi reviews on google. Both instances the fellows appeared as if we were inconveniencing them and were unclear on our confirmed reservation.

The area was muddy do to wash their vehicles. But the service there was good the truck was half tank but it was still good manged to still make to my route but when returning the truck i had a hard to finding parking because the gate was closed because the ACE rental car closed at 5pm but lucky they had a lock bow

They give me a truck with an empty tank. I drove 31 miles and refuel it with gallons but still i have been charged for fuel and fueling services! The reception guy wasn't friendly. The truck was awful 1 out of 5 stars!!

I got charged a significant amount of money for fuel charges, however, when I returned the truck the fuel meter showed no noticeable change in inflection. I only went 8 miles total, but the store is claiming that I returned the truck with 1/8 of a tank remaining and used nearly a quarter tank of gas in those few miles. I was smart enough to take pictures, but otherwise it would be my word against theres.

I didn't get his name but he was african American and a wonderful man. He helped me with an issue with Uhaul which was a misunderstanding from years ago and I left with a uhaul which I needed so bad to haul bags of trash we cleaned from Market St and 15th in downtown San Diego. 2076 5th st was the location. Thanks bro for the help.

Tried to drop off and it was closed at 4:15. No instructions I can to call and a guy gave me instructions. Wasn't too bad but wish I would have known that they wouldn't be there after confirming my drop off time.

I reserved a van and dolly. They didn't have the dolly when I arrived. The lot was dirt and rock, so the van had dirt/mud on the wheelwells and bumpers. With a reservation, the check in process took an hour. The van was new and in good operating condition.
