I rate companies based on how thry handle issues. The car trailer we needed wasn't avail at location we requested. Of course we found out in less than 24 hours of our travel to move our son 2 states away. My husband happened to find 1 at a local location and after calling customer service they made sure we could pick at that location instead of having to drive an hr out of our way to pick one up. Thank you so much for making that work for us.

Staff at this location are less than adequate to make this an enjoyable experience. Non working printers, no experience in dealing with discrepancies. Overall poor experience.
Jeff WThe driver side mirror was literally almost falling off …. It was incredibly dangerous to drive a 26 ft U-Haul on the interstate and not be able to merge lanes - my husband literally was driving with one hand and the other out the window trying to hold the mirror in a position to be able to see what was coming. We called and told the guy at the gas station where we picked the truck up from and his response was "oh i already know that" We requested to rent a dolly in our orginal reservation and there wasn't one provided.

MARTIN WI had to do a self check-in because there was only one person on duty and they couldn't leave the store to do it, but that was no big deal. The employees were extremely helpful and I would actually go out of my way to rent from them in the future.

Jerry WWhen I got to my location to get my 10' truck, I was told he didn't have one. He would let me have a 15' truck but I would have to pay the difference. After I called UHaul directly, he all of a sudden had a 10' truck I could use. Seem suspicious?
REBECCABREEDEN WGave us an expired trailer did not help us put it on the truck they walked. Back inside and left us with instructions.
Kourtnie OThe people were disorganized and unfriendly. I reserved a trailer which is the same size I have rented in the past. I reserved it online. There was all kinds of issues with getting checked out. My vehicle was not rated for the trailer, I needed a copy of my lease?? Which I own my vehicle and house? It took over an hour to get the trailer and get out of the lot. They also did not help getting the trailer hooked up. Very poor customer service!

Joseph MNever left behind the counter, I had to carry 18 moving blankets into the store by myself. Never counted them, never looked at trailer. I had to ask where to park trailer, did not look it over. Very unfriendly!

Lee bSeemed to be confused on entering info in system. Finally got processed, went out to get truck and started it up and the check engine light was on. Had to go back start all over again. Lucky to have another truck on site, but had to move truck to get mine out. Lost over an hour and I was paying my moving help $100 an hour to wait on me!! Very disappointed. Equipment should be better maintained and serviced if needed between rentals.
Paul JI would recommend dropping at a staffed location. All of my experiences on line and with remote sites was negative. 4 out of 5 attempts to use on line services failed due to poor app structure. One person out of all conversations by phone was helpful. 2 or 3 calls were met with rude staff only interested in getting off the phone with me. Staffed location, awesome! Online and call centers were not easy to deal with.

Adam EThey tell you to put gas back where it was when you picked it up or they charge you three times the amount they have to put in it. But when their crappy equipment has a Gas hand stuck on quarter when you trying to put it back on a half a tank and the pump clicks because the damn thing was full they won't reimburse for their equipment malfunctioning. That is horse sh*t.
Chris POverall drop off experience in Roanoke was very bad. Our original drop off location on Williamson Road would not take the trailer because he did not have room. He referred us to the Salem Turnpike location but they do not take trailers. Uhaul reservations arranged a drop off at Melrose but when we got there they would not take it because of a lack of space although it looked to us like there was some space they could have put it. They did refer us to the Salem Mini Mart who did take it. At that point we were going to have leave it no matter what because of our time crunch. Having to drive all over Roanoke to drop off the trailer is not acceptable. There needs to be a process where we can be assured that a scheduled drop off spot will accept the equipment.

Ronald ETold we couldn't drop off at location despite making the reservation to do so. Sent 20 minutes down the road. Down the road only took the auto transport…but didn't mention the issue until we were 20 minutes away and headed home so back to second location to pick up the truck to drop it off at…wait for it…the original location that denied service. It took 3 hours to return a truck and auto transport. Was told by employee they aren't paid enough to care about my problems or to provide decent service. Didn't get a refund for the obscene double charges on two services. Wouldn't recommend this location or Uhaul ever…not even to my worst enemy. No one should be tortured during moving by a company whose sole business is supposedly moving.
Rebecca TCommunication problems, dirty back of truck interior, truck parked in an awful position to depart (no room to navigate). The truck was a bear to maneuver but awesome on fuel, great engine power and in great mechanical shape.
James SWhen I took possession of the truck, the check engine light came on. I returned the truck immediately. They did replace the truck, but had me go look for the truck number and drive the original truck back behind the building. I felt that was their responsibility, but to move things along, I did it. Once I got the replacement truck, everything was fine.
Susan MEmployee could not process drop off since the contract only stated a city name not the store name. It didn't matter to them that the App sent me there. Completely unwilling to help leading to lengthy and unnecessary complications. I know now not to ever use Uhaul under any circumstances.
John SMy truck was clean and ready. However, the customer service was terrible. My card was charged twice at 2 separate location and 2 days later still no refund but I received a contract from a rental I never rented. Terrible service!!
Monique DMy wife went to pick up a dolly at this location. The man at the front counter was rude and not very helpful. He did not offer to help her hook the trailer up at she had to try and do it herself. By God's grace a passer by helped her hook it up. Also the website let me order a hitch and wiring harness even though the location did not have them.
Patrick PThe guy behind the counter was a bit rude. When I asked about renting, he said I don't do anything, you need to download the app and do it yourself. The trailer paint was peaking off really bad. It was open and had trash and debris inside it.
DIANA MWe had to get a second truck immediately because all of our stuff would not fit in one truck. I reserved this truck on-line and picked it up at the location withing FIFTEEN minutes. It was ready to go, and the attendant was helpful. (Of course, it is also a gas station/ convenience store, so there was an understandable wait.) The truck ran great and the experience was (as) pleasant (as it can be).
Anna fCalled this location - got someone who did not speak English very well... After asking him to repeat his statement several times, he finally said something I could understand: "Do not bring your return here!!" After trying to return at another Uhaul location using the APP, discovered that this location was where I was REQUIRED to return it. This caused a lot of stress - as the truck was getting very close to the "excessive mileage" as I drove from location to location (because of a 'misunderstanding???". And - as this location is a "mini mart" all other customers took precedence/priority over Uhaul customers - including (and especially) lottery customers...
Brian SUse any other main uhaul location. I specially booked a reservation to drop off here and was informed it would be an additional $300 to do so. Nobody was able to articulate what the charge was for and just sent me to customer service. I was informed that "things are crazy with uhaul right now", specially by the minimart employee. Woof

Shannon JI called this location - or at least the phone number listed for this location - can could not get a clear answer from him. He told me that I could NOT drop the car dolly at his location - and he gave me another location. I will drop off the truck today, but I am concerned that this additional driving to drop off the dolly will put the truck's mileage very close to the extreme upper limit - because he personally did not want the dolly. After trying to drop it at the location he told me of, I still ended up going to that location (Mini-Mart) and dropping it - at the expense of putting more miles on the truck than I wanted to.

Charles BMini Mart personnel was uninterested in any part of this transaction. I will never deal with them again or any other U-Haul facility that is not a central location. The equipment rented was in poor shape and resulted in frozen wheel bearing and loss of a tire. That tire entered oncoming interstate traffic, miraculously missing oncoming vehicles

Dennis TWhen reservations are made for a certain pick up time, there needs to be someone available to help. Had to wai 30 mins from reservation time for assistance. Other than that the service was excellent.
