The man I dealt with the last three rentals from this location is just plain rude. He is the guy with the less than normal motivation and a beard and pony tail. He seemed very upset that I interrupted his social rime with the Spectrum guy. I waited a couple of minutes before I asked him if I could pick up the truck I had reserved. He finally took the time to acknowledge I was even there and told me I would have to wait. Remind you he was not dealing with a customer he was chatting with the Spectrum guy. Maybe he needs some training on dealing with the public. Other than that everything else was good. I do not understand why Uhaul needed my card and driver's license twice through text message?

Windshield was so filthy with so many dried on bug guts, and it was raining super hard so I couldn't get out and wash it, and, the windshield wipers needed to be changed probably 5 years ago or more. I don't believe there is a shock absorber on the vehicle, was a very rough ride. Le service à la clientèle était génial. And it did run fairly well. Convenient location.

Communication between the manager and the assistant manager was less to be desired. We rented the truck and were contacted by corporate on the phone and told that we had to change our pickup and drop off site to the Ionia location. We were also told we had to pick it up on Saturday not Sunday as requested. The accommodation for this was to give us our original mileage rate of $.79 per mile. We agreed to pick it up early and go from there. Saturday when we arrived Jason was very helpful, and we asked to leave the truck parked in the lot until the next morning so that we did not add another 100 miles to our bill. He assured us that we could do so and have no issue. The next morning when we picked up the truck we asked where they wanted our vehicle parked until we returned the truck. The manager was irrate with us stating that we did not have a rental that day and that we would have to give back the key, and that we had to sign a new contract and that we had to pay $.99 per mile. When we stated that we had already made the arrangements the day before and spoke with Jason, and that we had a time limit to adhere too, we were just being polite to ask where to park our vehicle, the manager threatened to call the police on us for stealing the truck we had a contract for. The truck had trash under the seats, food and empty bottles etc, and the back had left over debris from the previous renter. We cleaned the majority of this all out before we returned the truck. I am torn as to whether we are impressed by Jason's awesome customer service or horrified by the manager's lack of customer service. Sadly, rental options in our area is limited. This was not the stellar, or seamless experience we expected, making a difficult and taxing job of moving and entire house in 24 hours by ourselves in 90+ degree weather with 100 % humidity that much more stressful and uncomfortable.

I reserved a 15' and when I arrived only a 10' was available. The 15' was in for repair/maintenance. I did not receive any notification. Staff was helpful and apologetic.

Only complaint is the Plainfield location tried to get me to drop off to them when I was told it was rented from ionia site for next morning . I didn't take it to Plainfield but he called and said guy should of never rented to me .

I checked in through the Uhaul app. When I opened the lock box it was empty. The key was not in there. Luckily, I arrived a few minutes before the location closed to get the key from the counter. I rented a dolly too which was not in the truck nor did the location have one to give me.

I couldn't find a phone number to let the manager know I would be late. We almost lost the truck. I would suggest someone calling the respective renters before leasing the truck to someone else.

UHaul pickup and drop off locations were changed over my objections; an attempt to charge me double the cost of car hauler was made and only changed when I objected. Ordered equipment (pads) were not included and then my delivery was questioned on arrival even though I notated that I never received ordered equipment and wanted a credit for what I reserved and didn't get. I was yelled at for delivering where I was told to deliver (over my objection) and then charged for extra gas because location was farther away than originally agreed. I am ready to sign up other people screwed over by U-Haul for a class action.

This isn't about the return location. I'm very dissatisfied with the return process. I attempted to return using online method as it was after hours. As I was stepping through the process it asked me to take a photo of the trailer and this is where the app failed and wouldn't let me take a photo. I tried numerous times even after rebooting. I then called 800 number and waited for 1 hr without answer. I left the trailer and and later in evening contacted uhaul via chat. They couldn't help me either and pointing me to drop off location. Since it was Sunday they weren't open. I then called again on Monday and sat on hold for another hour and the person said I can't use the online checkin and that I needed to go to the return location. Impossible as I wasn't even in the state. Also, they said I would have to pay a 20 $return fee. This is a problem with the application online not my phone (iPhone XR with recent updates) Absolutely ridiculous. Hours of listening to a mind numbing recording and lack of response from anyone on the phone to assist has pushed me to never use Uhaul again. I even called again to file a compliant and the person had similar response- oh sorry it's a busy time now. If you don't take care of your customers then you will lose customers. I expect leadership to take this seriously and return a call to me explaining why this is a good customer experience and why I should ever rent from Uhaul again. Goodbye. 630-715-5572 Mike Slepikas

My rental was given to someone else. The rental was under all of my information but they allowed the name and drop off location to be changed. It was huge headache and stressed to find out what was going on and to get a new one. I still don't know how it all happened.

The staff was very friendly and helpful; ensuring every customer was attended to. They made the process very easy and the employee I dealt with, Sam, estimated my mileage and was off by only ONE mile. I just thought that was a cool thing to add in addition to her great customer service.

The trailer rented was very dirty on the outside, but clean on the inside. The driver side fender had a small dent, but the photo I took would not upload to the site. I saved a photo on my cell phone in case you need it.

While we were grateful for being able to extend our rental by a day twice since our work schedules changed and unloading didn't go as planned, we were unable to find a way to extend the rental on the mobile site. Both days we called to extend, we had to wait on hold for more than 20 minutes each time. When we reached a representative each time, she was helpful and the change in the contract was quick and easy. However, part of the hold message asked us to go online to extend the reservation when we couldn't find that option. Perhaps it's a discrepancy between the mobile site and the full site, but no matter the issue, a quicker resolution to extending it online would be great.

Charged me for two days when trailer was back on time, even waited for the guy to move a truck so I could put the car trailer where he wanted whick took a forever because he grabbed wrong keys Not very happy about this and I will make sure to check else where for rentals from this point

Anything was ok until I took the truck back. Never gave me no paper work when I rented the truck ..when I took the truck back the u-haul people they should of been 3/8 gas in the truck they lied..when I got in the truck in only had 1/4 of a tank of gas I Argued with them but made no difference they charge me 4,4 cent a gallon of gas for two days of rental I was charged almost 160 dollars ...not happy at all ..I will never go there ago again ..then I fought to you they charge me for insurance to and never asked if I need it ...again not very happy with the ionia uhaul (sears) ionia michigan

I asked for a car dolly, and after waiting around for 20 min of paperwork i ended up getting a trailor instead that was 12 dollars more than the dolly and not what i wanted. instead of making a fuss i took the trailor wasnt offered a rebate for mistake
