My online choice for a pick up location was the Chester, MD location. You changed it to Severna Park, which resulted in an additional 30 miles travel and $8 in bridge toll costs. You should at least refund the bridge toll costs.

The van I rented. Was not clean.. I used the van for my dj business.. The van floor was covered in dirt & leaves.. The dirt & leaves stuck to my soft bags & cases.. Which result in me showing up to my event with a unprofessional 1st impression.. Luckily my client overlooked my bags & cases..

This is my first bad experience with uhaul. The van I reserved had many issues and should NOT have been rented out yet. First, the back right door doesn't close properly. The rental location know this because i mentioned it to them and they said, yeah it's been like that don't worry about it. But it's EXTREMELY annoying because the entire drive the van is giving this annoying noise that the door isn't closed and the automatic locks keep trying to kick it every few minutes but aren't able to because the door is broken. Driving the van and having the sensor noise going off every minute is super annoying. Second: the AC in the van does NOT work in the low setting, medium setting it only works on full blast. So, the full blast cools you down but you can't put it on any other setting. So, it's super loud the whole time. Turning it down just one notch shuts off the AC. Third: The parking break release is also broken on this van. I never parked on a hill so I didn't have to use it. But you can clearly see the parking break release isn't working. P.s. I have video evidence for all the issues mentioned above. The staff is friendly and helpful BUT the van needs to be fixed and should be replaced with one that doesn't have all the issues mentioned.

When I picked up the truck, the cab and cargo bay were dirty - enough that I vacuumed the cab myself and took the dead leaves out of the cargo bay. I drove about 10 miles, loaded up, and on the return trip I smelled burning brakes. The left front wheel was smoking and pulling to the left. I called the Severna Park Sunoco and his immediate response was "What have you done to my truck, it was running fine when you took it." He demanded I call an 800 number and I did. They were very nice and professional and, since I had been on the phone for about 20 minutes, the wheel had cooled enough to go about one more mile to unload the truck and a service truck would meet me there. We unloaded and I waited until Pat's Truck and Equipment Repair arrived. Pat and his assistant were super nice and immediately saw the caliper was stuck and they pried it away from the disk. They drove me back to the Sunoco and the owner started on me again. With Pat's help I finally got the owner satisfied so Pat could take it in for repair, taking another 15-20 minutes! Not one word about any thanks for not driving his truck until the wheel started actually burning or the extra hour or more I had to wait and get his truck back safely. I will NEVER go back to this location for U-Haul rental!

Clerk was rude. Jerked me around for a couple of gallons of gas. The Pennsylvania Uhaul told me there was a $15 dollar reward for returning to the Severna Park location. Clerk told me he never heard of anything like this. Very unhappy with the experience

The trailer was in an inaccessible area for my truck, so I had to pull it out to hook it up. The person in the gas station said "I hope you know how to hook this thing up because I don't" he walked outside pointed to the trailer and turned around and walked back into the gas station.

Truck was dirty with trash from the previous user. The overall price did not match the quote online. Mileage price was more than quoted, and the final cost was $70 more. The store said Uhaul had to provide any discounts, and the Uhaul customer service said the store had to provide any discounts. In the end, no discounts.

Customer Service during pick-up needs a lot of work. They need to take a refresher class. The contract signing seems pretty shady. We ended up renting a 10' truck because the trailers that we are requesting is "not available and all trailers are already reserved that morning". During the process, he kept asking what time are we planning on returning the vehicle that same day. I asked why and he said "so that someone else can use or reserve it again". It is a 24-hour rental and so why would someone "use or reserve" the truck we rented if it's not available for the next 24 hours? Hmmm. So we told him that we will return it the next day. Next issue I found was the gas. The contract indicated 3/4 full and he made sure that we understood to return it with the same amount. We did a quick walk through to make sure there were no damage on the truck , but because we are in a hurry, we failed to check the gas before driving off the lot. While driving (about 4 miles away from the facility) we noticed that the gas tank is already at less than half tank. So we returned to the facility (the guy seemed very irritated and with an attitude). When we showed him what was wrong, his whole attitude changed. During the loading process and when we opened the truck, we noticed a strong odor and the truck floor was dirty with leaves and dirt. Again, our fault for not checking at the facility because we assumed that the vehicle would be kept in good clean condition ready to rent. But since we are pressed for time, we continued to use the vehicle for moving. When we were done, we returned the truck that same evening (clean and free of dirt). Remember the trailers the were not available because it was "reserved" that morning, it was still there at 7PM. The return process was an improvement from the pick-up. Different person with different attitude and better customer service. Hence the reason for a 2 star rather than 1. Lessons learned: Trust but verify before driving off the lot. It'll save you time and money. With our experience during the pick-up, this is not a friendly location. I guess you can roll the dice or take the risk that you'll get a person with a good customer service skills at the service desk.

Was not totally clean. When it rained on the way down to North Carolina rain leaked into the cab. It rained a lot on the way and while we here. We turned the truck in a day early because despite constantly wiping it up, the water built up filling up the cup holders and overflowing them. It was a mess. We did notify the office where we turned in the vehicle and they had to keep under a canopy to alleviate the continued leaking.
