I love shoppers. The issue I have is with U-haul itself. I needed to take machinery to a location approx 50 miles away. I needed a low loading gate or a ramp. I originally wanted to use a pickup truck and a trailer, because it's easier to tie down the machinery in a small trailer....but....absolutely no pickup trucks ANYWHERE in my area. Ok well, then a box truck, but something with a ramp. Nope, no trucks with loading ramps are available, all being used by people who are moving. So, yes, there are a bunch of small box trucks, but no ramps. Ok, how about a cargo van with a trailer? nope, cargo vans don't have hitches. I went with a cargo van because I figured the lower bumper would be easier to load with smaller shorter ramps, which I had....Nope, it turns out that the actual cargo floor is much higher than the rear bumper and a 6 or 7 foot ramp is not long enough, because it's too steep of an angle. I get it people are moving a lot. How about having LOADING RAMPS avaiable for us schlubs that need to move stuff in town? I had to cancel my intended use and was out several hundred dollars, plust the 200 $bucks I spent on the Uhaul van (which I still haven't received any refund, even though I didn't go the expected 120 miles, I only went 10 miles and turned it in after one day instead of three that I rented for.James B.
I asked to leave the truck and trailer at two locations and they did not let me this is completely not fair it was such and inconvenience for me and my familyRoy D.

Educate your employees better on running a computer. It takes way to long to check anything out. Then they tell a person you aren't in the system when you have a confirmation number that they printed out when u made the reservation right in front of them. Then they send you to a place 10 miles away that don't even handle trailers. Took a hour & 15 minutes to finally get a trailer when i was in the system after all.JACQUELINE H.

I am over 60 and all the girl did was point to drop off area and said I had to park the trailer and come back inside to do paperwork it was over 100* and heavy as hell The safety chains wouldn't come loose it was the worst uhaul ever I will never rent again from uhaul!!!SHANNON S.
Uhaul needs to stop calling me every time I select a location for pickup in trying to change for me to pick it up at a main Uhaul location. It seems they like to do this to take away business from the smaller not Uhaul specific locations in trying to keep their commission. It seems like a scam.IGNACIO J.

I was instructed by traffic to drop off at a location twice the distance from where I normally go... This location was twice conveyed to me by traffic... this is where I went and when I got there, got jammed up in their small facility, I was told they would not accept my drop off... thus I had to reverse out of a small closely confined space to get out... I then went to where I usually go and there was no problem with them... Next time I'll go where I wantMARK J.

I was a little upset to find out the same trailer I rented last week for 21 $was now 35 $it seemed like quite a jump in price.DALE L.
I rented two trucks one had no A/C I. 110Â° heat and was supposed to be credited back, I was charged for a dolly they didn't even have. The second truck had been in an accident and the shook so bad you couldn't drive over 35mph and was charged for 115 miles when the two house were only 18m apart and I only had it 5h which was 2 1/2 trips there and back so no way I could have put 115 on it, there wouldn't have been enough time to drive that and load it unload in the timeScott W.
The Uhaul counter at this store should open by 8 am (not 9am) as most folks would like to start projects/moves before the heat sets in. Otherwise, an above average vendor.Brian B.

The Shoppers location made the whole day better. But Uhaul needs some work on their overall customer service and rental procedures across sites. We originally ordered a trailer, utility dolly, and furniture dolly from American Self Storage, 8050 E Main St, Mesa, AZ 85207. We received a call within 24 hours stating that they did not have the equipment and moved our order to the Shoppers location in Apache Junction. No problem. But, when we arrived at Shoppers, they had the trailer, but not the dollies. The Shoppers employee called multiple places until he found dollies for us at the U-Haul Moving & Storage of East Mesa location. When we arrived at the east Mesa location, the main person was grumpy and demanding. He wanted his equipment back and wanted copies of my drivers license. I gave him the order number. So, I returned his dollies to him and returned the trailer to the Shoppers location. At Shoppers, they were empathetic and helpful. He even gave a discount for my troubles. Uhaul, you need to straighten up your ordering process. You have computers, yet I feel like it is still 1990 when dealing with your ordering system. Also, your grumpy and bossy location managers are giving you a bad name. The Shoppers location was great. Kudos to them. The rest of the experience was sub standard at best and needs some corporate attention.Kurt L.

I had never rented a trailer or anything on my own and it could be a bit intimidating but the guy who helped us made the process immensely simple and pleasant I couldn't believe that's how easy it was!! He was kind and helpful and never condescending ifi had questions considering it was me and my daughter renting a trailer. Thank you for such a pleasant experience.KIRA M.
Well first off when we got the truck there was a broken shelf still in it no big deal I didn't care we just threw it out with our own garbage but he didn't check the mileage when I came back I gave him the amount entered into the computer incorrectly you guys charge me 300 and something miles when I only went like three hours oh no maybe three or I think I had it for five hours I just paid it with my bank they're looking into it I called U-Haul several times but I'm always on hold forever so I'm going to try calling I have used you guys I do not know how many times from just renting a regular pick up trucks to actual U-Haulâ€˜s never had an issue but you guys overcharged me byTAMMY P.

Wanted to rent a car transport. Waited in line in store over 30 minutes with clerk only helping 1 person since i arrived. When finally helped, was told no rentals available until Monday. Clerk Not able to search nearby locations for availability. I Was given a phone number to call. Walked out of the store called from the parking lot and was able to rent the car transport from this location over the phone right then. I would like to ask. sir: if you could please tell Uhaul. Corporate. I'm requesting refund. bc they were hacked. I over spent money. I needed to survive w with that money. we're broken down in the middle of the desert! ( I paid my insurance!!!! ) w Uhaul. Get a tow. To Las Vegas. New Mexico. Uhaul is hacked!! Horror story. omg! Now - the automotive place- actually took apart my car!! Without- Permission!! Now I have no car. bc if Uhaul. didn't get hacked!! I would have came straight to Uhaul w Floyd place! that hack also hurt Floyd business badly to! Nationwide. Hack? about made us homeless. No Lyft. No bus. Only a train to Arizona. Uhaul called to ask me to drop the truck off at a different location. We went to the location. Uhaul was then going to charge us double for dropping off at the location they asked me to. We took the truck to the pick up location and they were very kind and helped us.Vicki B.

First it appears that soda had been spilled by the cup holder over the transmission tunnel. I requested my rental location to be by my house the Main Street and Lindsey and it was transferred 25 miles to the location that did the rental. Good way to squeeze more mileage money out of a senior citizen. Up to this point I have had lots of UHAUL rentals and I am doubtful that I will rent from UHAUL again. And I am referring your actions to the Arizona Attorney General for possible fraudROBERT B.

I got a call the night before I was to pick up my uhaul that my pick up location had changed to a place 30 miles away (I had pre-paid for my uhaul) . We had to pay an uber to drive us there. I had also pre-paid for 10 moving blankets and they had none available at that location (was told I could come back the next day and see if they had some). The interior of the cab was filthy, I had to stop and buy cleaning products and paper towels to clean every surface that had white sticky stuff and coffee and chocolate on them as well as the interior of all the glass. The bed of the truck had gravel in it that we had to sweep out before we could put anything in it. Extremely upset with this location.TODD S.

Post in the contract when special holiday hours apply and when the time officially ends. To me, if there is a day that falls out of â€œnormal business hoursâ€ it should be stated on the contract. Nowhere on the contract that I saw was I made aware that hours would be shortened, there was no conspicuous signage at the uhaul booth that I was aware of, and the uhaul inside the main business closed before regular store hours closed causing an after hours charge to be assessed.CALEB E.

The van I rented had a lot of horse hair in the cab and the windshield was full of bug splatter, so I had to stop and clean it. The van itself was otherwise in great shape. I mentioned this to the cashier, they apologized. Before you leave the link sent after renting, If you click on the vehicle wasn't clean when you get the pictures to review it doesn't allow you to continue, so if there isn't another vehicle your out of luck. I have rented trucks literally a dozen times in the past few months to move and overall has been cost effective and conveinient.David H.
