Lance RSomeone, apparently from the storage company, came out to say I couldn't return the Uhaul there even though that's where it was obtained. According to them, they had severed service with Uhaul. So, it was a peculiar drop-off experience and they had clearly over-stepped.by insisting I return elsewhere. Also, the amount charged at the end appears to be double what was expected, even with mileage factored in. This requires futher review of the invoice, but I feel Uhaul deliberately misleads the consumer on the true cost. I don't expect this to change, given that rental companies historically drag their feet or directly oppose meaningful reform. So, further government regulation seems in order, unless something changes voluntarily.
Tavis FThe pick up location i requested didnt have a truck for me. I had to drive out of my way and use more gas to pick up a truck in another city. What is the point of reservations???? The dolly i reserved was not available. I asked the staff member to call around to see if i could pick up a dolly at another location as was told no, there is no point because they wont reserve it so i should just drive around. The truck that i picked up also had a flat rear passenger tire that was not visible as it was the inside tire. I had to wait for 2 hours for roadside assistance. My uhual experience overall awful and i will be using penske the next tome i move.

Konrad KUnhappy I was charged a $20 administration fee because of the required smartphone check in for an after hours drop-off. Despite the fact the vehicle was returned clean, fueled, and by the agreed time. I was not aware beforehand this was required on return, and the "share my location" on the web link would not work, just hang there.

Andrina Konly issue was that the rental had to be picked up from a different location than anticipated. It's not sufficient to get 24hrs notice.

NAYRA DTrain the staff better on how to use the software or get better software or hardware. It took us a whole hour of waiting for the lady to figure things out. And we were the only people there.

Randall AWhen collecting the car lot of delay because PUS device for cards was not working. I brought the car back 1 hour earlier (23 hours instead of 24) and employee Eric was okay but an U-Haul manager (white Toyota Camry hybrid / Asian looks) very rude and fully customer UNFRIENDLY. he locked the office door just when I wanted to enter and told me to phone his staff by the number on a sheet on that door. What a disaster.

Irene CI'd like to start by saying that U-Haul is a great service - it served the purpose of moving. However, I am dissatisfied with a number of thing and would like to request a call from a managing staff. I incurred unnecessary expenses due to unavailability of equipment I requested. Firstly, I ordered a 20 foot truck because of the amount of my belongings. I was given a 26 foot truck instead without any prior warning or a heads up. The 26 foot truck was far too big for my stuff so I had to purchase straps to secure my things in place. It was also inconvenient for loading and unloading. Secondly, the larger truck has a higher gas consumption so the management's decision to give me a larger truck cost me extra gas money. Lastly, I was charged for gas. When I picked up the truck, there was 226k to empty. When I dropped it off, there was 230k to empty. I don't believe I should have been charged. The extra charge day was caused by me having to clean the dirty truck and dealing with loading the truck on a busy street, the 6 feet make a difference. Ray LBad customer service, rude, and not knowledgeable . I will never go to that location to rent again. The representative's attitude is so bad, he should explain to customers nicely. So rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Dont judge people without listening to customer what was happening. I will never introduce any people to this location even though he said he was NICE enough not to charge the fuel. The fuel was a bit short. I bet now the overcharge part should offset the fuel. The representative yesterday hand wrote "no insurance cancelled" but now safemove was charged. He was SURE that ICBC does not cover for commercial vehicles, but ICBC does COVER. Be more knowledgeable and listen actively before challenging your customer.

Shayne CMy advice to renters would be to come in during the week when the manager is there. He is excellent--friendly and helpful. Unlike the weekend staff I dealt with.
Donald Byour office called the morning of my reservation and completely changed my pick up location, forcing me to drive 30 extra kilometers to and from the new pick up location. I'd recommend you to at least give some discount for future customers whenever that happens (it shouldn't though)

Hollie SIt was helpful to have an employee there as I was trying to connect to the Internet which was not working well. This made it hard to check in via mobile. Also, although I had received a phone call from a UHaul representative confirming my reservation, I did not have a truck assigned to me. This may be because I did not realize that I was supposed to do Express Check-In earlier than the day-of-I thought that was to be done when picking up the truck.
Rachel WI told UHaul I didn't have a car, so I needed to pick up as close to my North Vancouver location as possible. I booked North Van pick up, I confirmed North Van pick up and Two days before my rental date, I confirmed this via phone and was 100 % assured it would be a North Van pick up. 6pm the night before pick up I was notified that pick up would NOT be in North Van, but now it was at S.E. Marine Drive. I was assured that for the inconvenience, I would be refunded/discounted $75 on my rental rate, by the North Vancouver Manager. I have yet to see any refund or hear from anyone. So I then get up extra early and I take the sea bus, the train, and a bus to get to the S.E. Marine drive location. I make it and I am greeted by confused employees. So I take a seat and I wait, and wait. I am then informed that my truck is actually needing to be picked up in Richmond!!!!! I told them I don't have a vehicle, and I just spent 2 hours taking all forms of transit to get here and now I have to go all the way to richmond! ? OK, so I am told someone will drive me to the Richmond location. I wait, only to be told NO ONE can drive me to the Richmond location, they will call me a cab. I am insistent that they refund me for this cab ride and I'm assured they will. I get to the Richmond location, which isn't a Uhaul, but a small form of Uhaul, with an asshole at the helm. Even though I was paid in full weeks before for the rental, he tells me that he must call one of my friends to ensure that I am not a Terrorist and will in fact be using the truck to move with. I didn't want to hand out my friends information to a stranger, at which point he puts his hands together and says "Well I can not rent to you then, please step aside" and he looks at the guy waiting behind me. I wasn't having any of this, I'd just been to 3 friggen Uhaul's that morning, I had to cancel my movers because they were booked for 9am and I had to let them go, so now it was just me, a 5'4" inch woman who had to move my entire home alone. They had already made this the most inconvenient day of my life, and I wasn't about to be pushed aside because I might be a terrorist. I can get onboard with being careful who you rent trucks too, but the way this dude went about it, in an accusatory manner, and refusing to provide me with something I had already paid for well in advance, IN FULL, and had been all over hell and back to get it, and then him REFUSING TO RENT TO ME, seems very VERY unprofessional, and to top it off. He called the Uhaul GM and in his greeting he said "I have a woman here who is being very unreasonable and is upset" making me sound like the unreasonable one and not him, who was refusing to even look at me because I wouldn't hand over personal information of my friend. So I CAME UP WITH A SOLUTION FOR HIM TO DO HIS JOB, and I called my friend from my phone and handed my phone to him so they could speak. Don BClearer information about what the $15 insurance covers. I was not provided a policy. The agent indicated that it covered "everything" except damage to the roof of the vehicle and also suggested I call U-haul to inquire further about the insurance. I paid for the insurance based on the agent's oral information.
Andy CHI Customer service is awesome appreciated. Problem which i faced. There were water in the truck. I have to clean the water before puting my furniture in. May be because of water but not prefer it is UHAUL responsbility to provide clean truck. Secondly Uhaual should give facility to pickup and drop off facilities. I am moving from vancouver to burnaby but I would not able to get truck from vancouver and even wrost I have to drive back to richmond to drop truck which cause 35minutes driving and 15km (extra money) paid. My moving is done at 10:30 and I am done this drop off and reached home at 12 due to weather. If the weather is wrost (snow) how I can drive back in my car from richmond to burnaby (30 min at night)? I apreciated my reservation works fine and moving gose well but uhaul should improve this for customer satisfaction. Thanks, Taral

Jessica SIt was way to far away from transit. I had to walk 15mins in the rain. The road didn't have sidewalk so I had to walk in the mud and got splashed by passing cars. I had requested to pick up my rental at a different location but when they called me they didn't seem to care that I had to travel futher and this location was inconvenient. I was driving this UHaul one way to another province. The tank was 3/8ths full. So not only was I behind in my packing due to having to travel futher to pick up my rental I also had to go fuel it. Simply Brutal

ROBERT RNothing!! Rates could be a little lower - $128 for a quick 72 mile move is quite expensive. If 25 % cheaper, I might use U-haul more often. What about doing a deal with Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of BC and offer us a discount like I get from Budget & Avis I rent Budget vehicles a lot!! Thanks for asking!
