Back of truck and in cab were very dirty - lots of mud, twigs, cigarette butts.. Had to clean it before putting our items in it. Cupholders had fair amount of food in them and used paper towels. Contract said gas tank was 7/8 full at time of pick up when in reality it was 3/4 full at pick up.

Worst counter experience I've ever had the employee "helping" me just keep reading off of a script and couldn't answer any questions, meanwhile 6 inches away another employee was having a very loud personal phone call with lots of colorful highlights. Didn't have any variety in selection of vehicles and they didn't have the moving equipment needed or displayed on the website. Will definitely seek other services next time.

Guy at the office treated my wife like absolute crap because I made the reservation while she was working and I don't have a license so she was giving hers to get the rental. Very sexist, as soon as I walked in his attitude completely disappeared and started treating us like there was no problem. Would not recommend to a single person. I hope he gets fired or beat up.

Explain the contract. It would be great customer service to explain how the fuel works and there's an extra charge for not filling it up. That's the kind of thing people appreciate and will talk positively about your business.

Mu UHaul was absolutely filthy; it had garbage from the previous user and the cupholders were full of sticky residue that dirt had accumulated on.

the people were great. The main office the worst ever. after I had a reservation for a 26 ft truck they wanted me to drive for 2 hours to pick it up. Made the reservation on 6June to pick up in Rifle , Colo they wanted me to pick it up in Craig, Colo on the 25 of June. I'll never use the again or recommend them as a company

There was No one around when we originally arrived to drop the truck off and we were there during the hours of operation listed on the window. Eventually, a Man came out of the office and was very short, rude, and indignant. He seemed upset that we were bothering him and he treated us as if we were stupid. We just wanted to make sure we were putting the vehicle in the correct place and that everything was going to be good for a return such as correct amount of fuel, no damage, etc. We expected a lot better customer service and more help with a return. We will never rent a U-Haul from this place in Rifle again and will recommend others do the same. This guy was very unprofessional and unfriendly.

There's nothing to write because this is been an absolute b*******. Was to return the truck with a half a tank, gas gauge not functioning properly and therefore fill the tank not knowing how much it was going to take and at $4,5 a gallon so that's about a $50 loss. My bank account is sitting bounced because I have two charges from U-Haul one over 100 and one under $100 when my charge was supposed to be $29 for the day. Location I rented from is a storage facility with storage rooms connected and was promised a particular rate and they charged more on that too. So whoever you got running the show over there in rifle Colorado is absolutely the wrong people. The truck was returned within one day and there's record of me going in and out of the storage as well as cameras on the Dropbox Absolutely horrible

When renting the initial truck, the key could not be found. The guy at the place swapped trucks. The new truck smelled like old cigarettes. The back of the truck was dirty (loose dirt on floor) and it was running on empty. All of this is not so bad, other than the contract did not get updated with the new truck which created a bunch of issues at drop off.

I lived in Grand Junction and was told to pick the truck up in Rifle 1 hour away. The gas tank was empty.

We brought truck back with fuel same place as when picked up. Gentlemen said computer was down and he would just handle paperwork later. Charged us $11,5 for fuel. We had same amount as when left. Of course not told until we'll after we left. I feel we were not treated fairly.

I was so disappointed to find out 12 hours before my move that I would have to travel an hour away to get my u haul truck. I am able to take the bus from Basalt to Carbondale to pick up my truck, but learning 12 hours before my move that I had to find a way to get to Rifle, CO was pretty unsettling. Also, after the guy checked me in at 8am, he disappeared and I couldn't ask any questions.

Once again, this is the second time, u-haul has not had the truck that I have requested. This is the second time i have had to drive a long distance to fulfil my own request. After driving 4 hours from Loveland, CO to Rifle, CO in another u-haul can that I had to rent to get the equipment that I requested to be picked up in Fort Collins, CO, I found the rifle facility to be under construction and the computers were down. I was unable to obtain a U-Haul Contract until two days after I had the 26' van in my possession. Once I received the contract, it was incorrect and did not match my reservation and to the very end I was unable to get the U-haul Equipment Rental Contract to reflect accurately. The U-Haul cargo area had not been swept out and it had not been cleaned for COVID. I got to clean the truck in addition to the 9 hour drive...I found a mans sunglasses and a womans t-Shirt along with loose change and dirt scattered in the cab. To date, I still do not know what I was charged or credited. I drove the u-haul (4 hours) back to Loveland, between the two u-haul vehicles involved in this evolution, I spent over $100 in gas just to pick up the vehicle (26' van) I needed. I was never able to get the moving blankets I requested but did receive a $10 refund for them which were never taken off of the contract. The return date on my original reservation was correct, it was not correct on the equipment contract. So many things wrong with this experience. I have rented four times with u-haul in the past 18 months but I'm not likely to ever use u-haul or its services again. I have a dispute pending with U-haul through the Colorado office Mike (303) 286-2650 but I still have not received a phone call or any other communication from this office. The Corporate Office in Jefferson City, MO was somewhat helpful. What you can do to improve for the next customer: To the Colorado Officer, Get the reservation correct for starters. 1. Don't make promises over the phone. Customer beware. 2. The manager will make promises over the phone but there is never anything in writing and when you go to pick up your equipment, the next rental office has no knowledge of what the manager promised. 3. Do a proper walk-through with your customer, get the correct fuel level, condition and cleanliness established before just handing over a key and saying "its okay, go". 4. Be clear with the customer on what he/she is being charged. This experience is not necessarily the Rile, CO locations fault, the poor guy did not have computers or even a decent work spare to conduct business in. This was a sorry, sad experience.

The facility was under construction, the computers were down. I drove a van from Loveland, CO to Rifle, CO just to pick up a 26' U-Haul that U-Haul could not deliver on at a Fort Collins, CO location. No walk-through, no proper check-in of the return vehicle that I drove from Loveland and no walk-through at all of the 26' van that I picked up. I was handed the key and told to go, I did not have a rental contract for several days and only obtained one by contacting a corporate office in Missouri. The rental contract never matched my reservation and to my knowledge was never correct. I have a complaint filed and I am still waiting to be contacted by U-haul to resolve issues.

I dropped the truck off at the location and the staff told me that the internet was down. I gave him the key to the truck and he said he would give me an email after he did the intake. I returned later that day and he assured me that I didn't to do anything else. I left and the next day I saw a charge for an extra day. I turned the truck in at the appropriate time and with more fuel than required. I asked about the charge and the attendant told me he had a death in the family and his district manager had done the intake for the vehicle. I asked for a phone number or email and he gave me one for billy.pike@uhaul.com. That email came back as undeliverable. I was charged $65,49 for a day that I didn't use.

I was given a trailer with a non functioning turn signal and the trailer was being hook up to my pick-up. Attendant told me he wasn't allowed to fix it (needs a bulb) and that I "must" call U-hauls' roadside assistance. I spent 45 mins on hold and was hung up on before I ever got to speak to anyone. It's was awful and stressed driving a fully loaded trailer with only one turn signal. The only assistance I was offered was a refund: How does that help me? By delaying my work to come back later and HOPE that they inspected their equipment BEFORE the customers. Try Carbondale for your rentals, they care about your safety and have never let me drive away with unsafe equipment..

Make sure tires on trailer good, not slam windows on costumers faces wile they are on the phone with corporate, Be available on site they were never there, Try to give me the wrong trailer because they knew the tire was flat, Made me connect the auto trailer myself. Delayed my travel by a day and a half, had to stay a extra night in a hotel.
