The road is terrible to get to this location - too many potholes to count. Otherwise, location and staff are great. Since I checked out with the app, I didn't get a paper copy of the contract with the helpful gauge of how much gas to put in for return. That would be a helpful addition to the UHAUL app itself.

If U-Haul wasn’t about the only place to rent equipment in Anchorage I would never rent there again. Be thankful you have a monopoly on the market.

The whole process was so complicated from the self checkout to the app not loading. It took me 45 minutes to figure out how to work the box. Then had to get the wrong keys in the box. I took the vehicle that I got the keys to and then then called costumer service. She never changed the vehicle because I called to book it for another day and lady said that they would take it care of it when I came in and give me a discount. When I got there the guy was more upset that he had to actually not just email me the receipt and cash me out because I didn’t want it to use the card on file which was already 1/2 processed which they told me it wouldn’t be until I brought it back. For sure no discount on his end because he really did not care whatsoever what kind of problems I had.

It was very easy to pick up the rental and return it. The gentleman at Southside Storage was very courteous even when we ended up picking the vehicle up an hour late and he gave me a call to verify that we were onn our way.

You can see the business and all the UHauls from the road but gaining access isn’t a straight shot. The entrance to the property isn’t even from Old Seward it is from a side street(Center I think). Took me 10 minutes to get on property from old Seward Hwy because of the divided street.

Don’t know why you had to have phone numbers for 2 different people to call and they were confused about why they were being called. This is a crazy system and needs to be fixed.

I rented a truck. Drove 4.1 miles and they charged me for using 1.2 gallons. How could that possibly be? When I called the person gave me attitude and told me to call a 1-800 number if I had a problem. Will not use or recommend to anyone

The gentlemen at this location gave EXCELLENT customer service and his BOSS the same. We had the U-Haul broken into and they both were very helpful in dealing with a tough situation. They are our ALWAYS location that we will use.

The employee helping us was very nice. There were just a couple instances that seemed odd: Customer information had to be entered multiple times. (Additionally why does the customer enter all the information and select all add ons and insurance when making the reservation online and then have to re-enter everything again when arriving for pick up?) Prior damages and current condition of the truck and trailer weren’t discussed or looked at. Other employees were loudly complaining about previous customers that (ironically) were loudly complaining.

the trailer leaked really bad and all our stuff got wet. On day 2 of a 10 day trip across the country we had to buy trash bags, unpack the trailer and put all our suitcases in them to protect them then repack the trailer. I'm not talking a little bit of water either. There was standing water in the bottom of the trailer and so many things were soaked.

the attendant was not on site during regular hours. I got ahold of them by phone and was told to drop the trailer myself and leave it in a parking spot. The trailer was heavy and I couldn’t remove it from my vehicle without my vehicles jack. There was no trailer stand which proved to make the task difficult.

Finding this U-Haul location can be challenging if unfamiliar with the area. Quick and easy to pick up a rental van; would rent from this location again if a job required it.

The truck was well past it’s prime. It did the job, but not in a way that inspired confidence in the equipment. The road to the office was a challenge for driving safely. Wish there was any effort at all to clean the trucks, but there was not.

Better signage and instructions how to get there. There are no signs if you enter at the top level for where to go. I had to guess. There are no signs for how to access the parking lot; again, you have to guess. The side mirrors were very dirty and hard to see when driving for lane changes or to back up.

The blinker on the passenger side-view mirror was obviously broken, but not marked or in the report. Thankfully we noticed before leaving the lot and made them mark it. They tried to claim the parking lot sweeper must have broken it ... that seems highly unlikely. It is more likely it’s been broken, they knew about it, were hoping we wouldn’t notice and then would have tried to charge us for the damage. Also, the back of the van had not been swept out.

I asked the salesperson if I could see the mileage when I got in the truck because there was an oil change light on and I couldn't see the mileage when I started. He asked why I wanted to see it, told me there a service light on, and was taken aback when I asked to see it. I said I wanted to know what my mileage was when I used the truck that day and he asked "why, are you on a budget?" I told him the truck drove hard because the four wheel drive seemed stuck. He told me I was the first to ever say that. Why ask me if you don't want the answer? Very impersonal and not very friendly. I'll recommend another location.

The lady behind the counter was not professional and complained about her job. The exterior of the truck was dirty and inside the truck was a previous clients contract.

The pick up and drop off were easy. Equipment was clean. However I have been charged now two times a month after my rental for 2 additional charges. I’ve called the location after the first charge and was told I would be refunded. Instead of a refund I was charged again! I’m not happy

The original place that we chose for return no longer works with uhaul, so we couldn’t return the truck there. I called this place to see if they accepted uhaul returns and the guy didn’t understand what I was talking about. Because he didn’t understand, I decided to go to a different uhaul location to return the equipment. The return agreement was processed with no extra fees (gas was at the desginated level). She had a hard time returning it because it wasn’t the original location on the contract. She called someone for help and they told her that they wanted the equipment returned to south side storage because it was needed there. She told them I was already there and they insisted we take it elsewhere. We then had to drive TO THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN just so uhaul didn’t have to transfer their own truck over to the location. Upon getting to this location the man told me I would be charged for gas because it was a little under half (it was right on half). He wanted to charge me $15, so I told him I would take care of it myself and only spent $7. The entire uhaul process has been HORRIBLE and uhaul does not care about their customers. We experienced long wait times in person and on the phone. Then having a location on their website that doesn’t work with uhaul anymore, having another location that wouldn’t accept it because a third location needed it. Then driving to the other side of town to give them their truck and being told we would be charged for gas. RIDICULOUS!! Uhaul has lost my respect and potentially lost a customer.

The biggest plus to this location is there is room to park your vehicle while you conduct business. It’s also very close to where I live. The professionalism and friendliness of staff is outstanding.

I got a call day before and Lester argued with me about my reservation. Made me call the main number 4 times. Then when i dropped off the ladies computer froze and i waited 40 minutes to check out. That is the worst location and too far out of the way. If i would of had 1 day 1 way my gas cost would of been 50% less and they didnt estimate me enough miles. So i had to pay my overage for bringing it back. Not cool.
