Location forced purchase of optional insurance coverage that was both declined during registration process and at time of arrival. Was told location policy was that it is mandatory and was not given another means to cure. Note: when reserving the vehicle I chose a different location but was not told the reservation was move until after reservation was complete. This change in location put me into unnecessary traffic, added mileage beyond what was expected which also increased the cost of the rental and gas needed. Overall, a frustrating experience for what should have been about a 1,5 hour rental.Rob D.

I rented a truck and drove it a grand total of 36 miles so that I could move a bedroom set. When I returned the truck less than 90 minutes later, the employee at Stack and Store tried telling me that I used a quarter tank of fuel, and charged me 19,00 $. I told him that was impossible, and his only comment was "I don't make the rules". I told him that I would be talking to someone in the U-Haul Corporate Offices first thing Monday morning about it and left. I got a phone call from him less than 5 minutes later telling me that "the fuel gauge must not have been right", and that he was refunding me seven dollars and change. I believe that this is a scam and they got caught. I have used U-Haul repeatedly over the years, but never again. I will be cancelling my account with U-Haul, and telling anyone who will listen to me that if they DO rent a vehicle from U-Haul, they better be aware of this shameless attempt to collect more money by alleging that the vehicle wasn't properly fueled upon return. I don't know if this is something that U-Haul condones, or if it's something that the Dealers do for extra "profits", but either way, it is deplorable. I doubt if this will get "posted for public viewing", but if it does, keep an eye on your wallet when you rent a vehicle, especially from Stack and Store Storage in Wesley Chapel, FL.Thomas W.

Staff was rude and indifferent when picking up the truck. After the vehicle was returned the next day, they tried to charge me a 25 $"cleaning fee" because they did not like where I parked the truck (the lot was full). Luckily, U-Haul did the right thing and refunded the fee. Stay away from this location.SCOTT R.

I checked the app for availability for the pickup. When I went to the location they said they didn't think it was available, I said it's right outside and the app says it is. They called there manager from the back and he came out and said it wasn't available. I spoke to him directly and asked again. His exact words were, â€œit sucks to be youâ€ and lagged it me. Then another guy comes out and rents me the truck. Not sure what's going on there, but I won't be going back.Caesar Z.

Forced me to take insurance on the vehicle. I called u-haul and they said I didn't have to take the insurance.BART G.
#1 - When my wife was asking about certain damages, the one helping us seemed to be a bit agitated with her questions. That to me is POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and there is no excuse for that coming from a representative of U-Haul. #2 - I had set up a split payment with 2 cards. The Credit Card was to be used as main payment, the remaining balance was to go on the second card. This was NOT done. Instead, the full amount was charged on the credit card which caused a double overdraft fee with my bank, costing me an additional 70,00 $ in overdraft charges. Needless to say, but I will not be recommending anyone I know to that location. Hope this can be addressed before others have to deal with a mess.Ruben Q.
I have rented a 10' truck twice in the last two weeks from this location. This location tried to inflate mileage by 20 miles on the first rental an upcharge of 15,80 $. I caught it and got it corrected. On the second rental 12/15/2020 I signed off on a full tank of gas without double checking only to see several miles down the road the fuel guage well off full . The two trips were identical in mileage, route, load and refuel location. The first rental 5 gallons for my 53 mile trip. The second rental 7,5 gallons for the identical trip, roughly 25 miles of use on the truck @ 10 MPG and an upcharge of 5,48 $. My complaint upon return fell on deaf ears and the mocking "We appreciate you" as I went out the door for the very last time, never to return, fell on my deaf ears. As a retired 75 year old businessman/multiple business owner, I have never figured out how a business plan of "screw every customer only a little and maybe the won't notice" can be successful long term.Donald C.

First unit had a bald tire and a loose brake line, from a missing bolt. Second unit had a bad pigtail for the lights, between the truck and trailer, which was replaced. During the trip the tail lights failed necessitating a service call. Kept us up very late,after a long day. Surge brakes seemed to only work under hard breaking, causing truck brakes to heat up more than they should. As a CDL driver I recognise this and adjusted my driving accordingly. Staff were all friendly, and accommodating. I would suggest training staff to better access equipment for service needs, and inspection by certified mechanic regularly.Stephen P.
I made reservations for a 26' truck but it wasn't operational at the time of pick up because I noticed the Check Engine light was on. I had to take a 20' truck instead and pay the same for the smaller truck. So, the truck I reserved was not available and still paid the same for a smaller truck, it does not seem right.Edward G.

I reserved a cargo van online with a debit card, when I pickup the van I was told a major credit card was required. I have rented the pickup truck and can with my debit card in the past with no issue. This location said that it's there policy that I needed to use a credit card. I was forced to get a bigger truck, So I ended up spending more in gas then expected and a much bigger truck then I needed. The employees were not helpful and really didn't do anything to help with the truck situation.nolan S.
