The national help center is not always on the same page as the local dealer. Reservations were not synced properly and in one case was duplicated for some reason. Wasn't offered a choice for a drop-off location that was more convenient for me. Ended up taking it there anyway and they were able to accept the drop-off.Daniel M.

Rapid City, South Dakota: Our truck developed engine problems. When the truck developed engine problems I called the 1-800 U-Haul number and the individuals we talked to were very responsive to our situation and set us up in a Hotel in Rapid City and helped us get a replacement truck. . The U-Haul facility in Rapid City, 20 Deadwood Ave was great. The manager there was professional, prompt, courteous and took care of our needs. At the facility we were given a replacement truck that had been maintained well. The employees were very attentive and helpful in getting us the new truck and attaching the trailer to the truck. They gave us some tips on using the trailer. I thanked them for their help and their response was that they were simply doing their job - how refreshing. The moving team that U-Haul hired to transfer our household good from one truck to the other were professional, friendly and took care of our household items. Overall our experience with U-Haul in Rapid City, SD was very satisfying. Summerville, SC: The U-Haul facility where we dropped off our truck and trailer was professional, courteous, and made the process for turning the equipment in very easy.Richard O.

No representative came to check the trailer in or assist with parking location or detachment of the unit. I had to help another customer hook up a trailer and check lighting operation because the Uhaul representative was unavailable/unwilling to help. This is unacceptable as I do not get compensated by Uhaul for doing their work.Stephen P.
I called ahead, as we were dropping off a day early. The lady indicated that they were open and could accept it early. When we arrived, the office was closed for lunch, and she did come to the door, but would not check us in until her lunch was over. We checked in online instead.William M.

When we dropped off the truck the sales associate seemed less than thrilled we were there. I called the office the next day realizing that I left something of importance in the truck I rented. I get it was my fault for leaving the item, that is not the issue. The issue is at least return my calls letting me whether or not you still had the item.Karen O.

Everything, location, agent, truck were pretty good, better than expected. However, it was just terrible online service and on the phone (never got to a live representative). It was a holiday, but the drop off system just didn't work. Wouldn't read the location, no matter which phone was used.Sharon N.
The van smelled like a cat sprayed, looked like it got the windshield. The van I was promised, was promised to someone else, my card has been charged 68.00, pending along with a little over 10 for a quarter tank of gas. The customer service was poor. The truck provided had an engine light on and was told that they had been sending it out anyway because they knew what was wrong with it. The truck had to travel a round trip of more than 200 miles and it felt like the transmission was not shifting properly.James W.

I found it hard to contact this location directly by phone. So I had to drive to the location which was 30 minutes from me. Once I got there the young lady was helpful but the question could have been answered over the phone.Sonja M.

This is the second time we have used this location for a uhaul rental, and both times were disappointed. I made my reservation for a 15' truck and appliance dolly online; when I got there to pick it up and finalize things, I told them I didn't want the insurance. They "mistakenly" added it anyway and said they'd have to cancel the contract and start a new one over. I had already waited about 15 minutes for her to get off the phone after I arrived to assist/acknowledge me. So I paid the 42 $that I didn't want to pay. Then when I asked to return the appliance dolly early, She said I'd still be charged for the 3 days because it was on the contract with the truck, and that I'd have to cancel the contract and do two separate ones for the truck and the dolly to do that. That was the second time we used them, and both times the customer service was very lacking. The only good thing was we were able to do the return online and leave the keys in the drop box. There were many customers waiting (only 1 allowed inside at a time) so that would have been miserable waiting outside in the 95 degree heat when we didn't have to. Thank you for having that option. As for renting another uhaul truck or trailer, we won't be using this location again. We'll drive further to find another one. Thank you, Lori KunceLori K.

I made this reservation in advance and was quoted at 103 $however, upon leaving, my boyfriend told me he was charged almost 150 $. They had added on the safe move coverage for 28 $without our consent and my boyfriend, not being the one who made the reservation, didn't know that he had been overcharged. Very disappointed in this location, I had confirmed my reservation at least a week in advance and specifically did not put the coverage on the vehicle. There is no reason we should have been charged for this coverage.Adrian H.
I had a truck on reservation for Sunday August 2 nd What a day We had the time to pick up the truck 12:00 pm the truck was there but couldn't get The truck had a lock on it after many calls we finally got a code which letters not numbers which they kept sending at 7:00 pm that evening gave us a letter code hard to jbelieve but the letter code didn't work either no truck for us There were a lot of U-Haul trucks parked at the site but the keys were in the lock box which nobody at the site could get into So from 12;00 pm to 7;00 pm no truck Everyone we talked to gave us different information I wouldn't want any one else go through this order Penske good jmoving company and from a friend heard they are cheaper on long haul trips My rating for UHaul is even below 0 don't use them go some where else This is all the truth no fabrication no lying honest what happened to me and a friendKenneth H.

At pickup nobody was there at 9:30 am when they were supposed to be open. Many people were there waiting to pickup.
